Economy Means Sacrifice

Chicago - Feeling the pinch of the sluggish economic recovery, many Americans setting out on the nation´s annual Thanksgiving migration had to sacrifice summer vacations, rely on relatives for airfare or scour the Web for travel deals to ensure they made it home. It´s not just tight family finances making travel tough. Airlines struggling to save on jet fuel and other expenses have cut the number of flights, leading to a jump in airfares. Those hitting the roads face high gas prices and rising tolls. Now, with talk of the nation sliding off a "fiscal cliff" come January, many travelers said

Well, thank DC. Every problem we have is because of the people there. They destroyed the housing market, cheap gas, education, medical care and every other problem we have in this country.

Yes, things may seem bad. But mostly it is the little people who suffer. They deserve their woes.

We should be concerned about bigger issues: Will Hillary be praised enough on the nightly news? Will Congressman Jackson get that special pension from Congress? Will some federal worker lose his/her job due to a budget cut. Will meat be sold on Monday´s in Los Angeles? Will the clever John McCain find new racist code words?

And will Paula Broadwell and Holly Petraeus become the Lesbian Power Couple of 2013.

Jackson, Mississippi — A woman has been found guilty of manslaughter for the illicit silicone buttocks injections that prosecutors say killed a Georgia woman in 2012. Natasha Stewart, of suburban Memphis, Tenn., was found guilty Friday in Jackson, Miss., in the death of 37-year-old Karima Gordon of Atlanta. Stewart had been charged with "depraved-heart" murder, but the jury was told it could consider the lesser charge of manslaughter. Authorities say Stewart, an adult entertainer also known as Pebbelz Da Model, took $200 for a referral to the alleged injector and falsely represented that the injector was a nurse.

Living standards in Britain have suffered their most prolonged decline for at least half a century, according to official data that has been seized on by Labour as further proof of a cost of living crisis under the coalition. A report from the Office for National Statistics found that real wages have been falling consistently since 2010, the longest such period since at least 1964, when comparable records began. Statisticians put the deterioration down to several factors such as a change in the number of hours people work as well as a fall in productivity. The analysis further undermines claims made

But the gap shrunk significantly compared to January 2013, right after the Sandy Hook school shootings in Newtown, Conn. In January 2013, 43 percent were satisfied with the strictness of

Moody´s rating agency has lowered the outlook for health insurers from stable to negative, blaming ObamaCare. Few Americans will shed tears for insurance companies. But the Moody´s announcement is a warning sign to taxpayers. They´ll be getting clobbered. Section 1342 of the Affordable Care Act forces taxpayers to make insurers whole for most of the losses incurred selling ObamaCare exchange plans through 2016. The bailout is designed to conceal the failure of the president´s signature health law until he is out of office. No one in the Obama administration talked up the advantages of bailing out insurers.
