That didn’t take long —
Obama reverses himself on Israel

Power Line, by Paul Mirengoff

Original Article

Posted By:StormCnter, 11/21/2012 6:11:52 AM

We gave Obama credit for his initial reaction to the conflict between Israel and Hamas, namely that Israel “has the right to defend itself” against attack and that the Israelis will make their own decisions about their “military tactics and operations.” We recognized, however, that Obama would likely back away from this line if the conflict dragged on for an extended period of time. As it turned out, Obama reversed himself almost immediately. The Washington Post says as much in this report called “With Hillary Clinton’s dash to Middle East, Obama signals a shift in his approach.”

Barry sees two advantages in sending PIAPS to Israel.
First, she is out of the country and WAY TOO BUSY to testify before Congress about Benghazi.
Second, it is very dangerous over there with incoming missiles dropping willy nilly.

i imagine Hillary may be regretting her decision to inject herself so prominently and physically into the so-called "peace process" as word emerges on the Tel Aviv attack on civilians on a bus. the quicksand of the Middle East has a reputation for swallowing bigger egos than hers.............including her husband´s.

Hillary referred to "our friends in Israel." This is code. The Arabs and Muslims know she means Palestinians or anyone else who isn´t a Jew.

What a terrible mistake Obama is for a POTUS. He renegs on his words which were a meaningless bait and switch just to get the Jewish vote again. He wears a mask of smiles which cover the real face of a charlatan liar.
Netanyahuh "Do not listen to to BHO" he is a hypocrite" and a political philander.

If America´s Jewish voting block doesn´t care about Israel, why should conservative Americans? Romney received less than 30% of Jewish votes after four years of Obama´s neglect and rudeness towards Israel. If Obama is to be an updated golden calf to Jewish academia, entertainment, religious leaders and most of all, voters, perhaps conservatives should be equally unconcerned with Israel´s fate.

Have to agree with #13. I have no religious or ethnic ties to Israel. I do care that the only true democracy and country closest in line with our values, etc is constantly under attack. But the American people spoke this past November and unless Israel starts sending free cheese and cell phones to people in this country - who cares?

Reply 15 - Posted by: ThinkingOutLoud, 11/21/2012 7:59:11 AM     (No. 9027181)

One shouldn´t equate what too large a number of American Jews feel about Israel´s fate and their vote for Obama, with what Israeli Jews themselves think about their country´s fate and about Obama. Obama´s approval rating amongst Israeli´s is abysmal, they don´t trust him at all, and American Jews living or visiting in Israel voted by a great majority against Obama in this past election. I´m for Israel and Israeli Jews regardless of what some American turncoat Jews think or do. Go Bibi!

Obama is a master of stating the complete opposite of what his intentions are (and the press dutifully reporting it without criticism), in this case I am not so sure. On the other hand, since his first inclination is to stand behind the Muslims, Paul´s analysis is probably correct.

If The Won II is successful in undermining Israel to the extent it and its people are exterminated he will have brought about the Biblical end times but with God (Judaism and Christianity) losing and Allah (Islam) triumphant. This would fit perfectly with this narcissistic demigod´s ambition and worldview.

Everything out of BO´s mouth has an expiration date. And I mean everything. During the first campaign, he boldly said what he would go after when he got elected. Too bad the takers just didn´t care. As for Israel, I am not too worried about them. They have God protecting and guiding them. Too bad the same can´t be said for this country.

Glenn Beck´s mercuryone.org has a donate button for Israel. His organization has donated $$ so planes can be left running so they can get off the ground quickly and also provide sleeping places for the pilots. Also, he said the reservists that were called up have to clothe themselves and they needed warm clothing.

FTA, "The administration knows that with Clinton on the ground trying to resolve the crisis, it will be harder for Netanyahu to make good on his threat to invade Gaza."

Perhaps Netanyahu is not all that concerned about what Obama thinks. Bibi remembers his brother´s bravery as leader of the Entebbe rescue and members of the team serve in Bibi´s cabinet. They understand bravery and bold action against their nation´s enemy.

#30,#31 & #32 thank you for your posts. Jews are scattered all over the planet for their protection. Any nation who doesn´t protect the Jews will be "cursed" & those who honor Israel will be "blessed" (proven in history). I have not one thread of agreement with anyone who is anti-semite & God will not protect our Republic if we do not protect Israel. I understand that some American warships were sent to Israel´s coast & I hope this is true. Hillary & BHO are from the darkside where the Sons of Hagar rattle their swords. Egypt is doing exactly what they have done for centuries & we helped kill off the one Egyptian who had a treaty with Israel. II Chronicles 7:14 we are not in charge!

Obama cannot be trusted. Whatever reassuring pablum he spouts one day will be reversed the next. American Jews who care about Israel should have caught onto this by now.

Sadly, they haven´t. Many are Red Diaper Babies, trained up in Marxism from childhood, and for them it is Ideology über Alles.

The only surprise here is that Obama even stated initially that Israel has a right to defend herself. Some pro-Israel mole must have slipped this line in on his teleprompter. But come to think of it, we were in the middle of an election when he said this, right? Actually, the statement is contrary to the thinking of most Democrats. Obviously, now the election is over, Obama can rescind the comment.

The one thing that worries me is that Israel, if I´m not mistaken, depends on America for a large majority of it´s military hardware. They fly American made planes and the munitions they use are designed and made for those said aircraft. I know that Israel does have the capability of making some of their own equipment, but not anywhere enough to wage a large scale war against those that hate them. So, in that respect, Obozo does have Israel over a barrel.

I pray that I´m wrong.

Many Christians, adopted (grafted as described by Paul in Romans 11) by God´s grace into His family, believe that God has not given up on His chosen people, the Jews. We believe these still have a special place in His heart and continue survive solely despite many genocidal attempts by Satan´s pawns because God does not go back on His promises especially the one to Abraham about the descendents continuing to propagate in multitudes.

Obama may fancy himself as earning the most powerful individual position on Earth, but we know better. He has no power but what God has allowed for him to have. As with leaders in ages past, his time too will end. He will then have to answer for how he handled the power loaned for a time to him. Something tells me that it won´t be as comfy a time as he has with the MSM right now.

I have great regard for Israel´s capability to defend themselves, even as they are under assault from three direction, with or without "help" from the Current Regime in this country.

As for the American Jews not seeming to come to the defense of Israel, by their tacit and open support of the Current Regime, much of that may be explained easily enough, by the fact that many of them are not practicing religious Jews, and they have no sense of community with Israel.

You can find the answer to your question by rereading the history of how Hitler did it to them...they acquiesce to get along and have a herd mentality, like sheep.
Those gone secular think of liberalism like it´s air, not a threat.
Few people see this attitude as the extension of European wars, but the Baath party and The Muslim bro´s are all outgrowths of the German Communism we call National Socialism.
If these folks takeover, they kill Jews just for their name.,,,ignoring any reference to their being secular.

How many of the 12 tribes survived intact as Gods chosen people after the exile?
Two is the answer and they became Judah and retained the promised land.
The others mingled and mixed and married into the non jews who introduced them right back into worship of the golden calf and all things corrupt. They weren´t even left the name Israel and had to live as the hated land of Samaria

Today you can draw the same picture . Those two tribes inherited the compact with God and are Israel while the others have once again put the golden calf first and will lose that birthright just as they did then.
If you don´t understand the fact that they hung the real Jews out to dry or more aptly put-- allowed them to be mass murdered then find and read The Winds of War.

The quasi-official ideology of the U.S. armed forces holds that generals are virtually interchangeable, that individual personalities don’t matter much, that ordinary grunts are in any case more important than their leaders, and that what really counts are larger systems that make a complex bureaucracy function. There is some truth to all of this. But for all of the bureaucratic heft of the services and the heroism of ordinary soldiers, it is hard to imagine the Civil War having been won without Grant, Sherman, and Sheridan—or World War II without Marshall, Eisenhower, Patton, Bradley, Arnold, LeMay, Nimitz, Halsey,

Eliana Johnson reports that four Republican members of the Senate Judiciary — Jeff Sessions, Chuck Grassley, Mike Lee, and Ted Cruz — are calling for transparency from their GOP colleagues in the “Gang of Eight” that is drafting immigration reform legislation. In a letter to John McCain, Lindsey Graham, Marco Rubio, and Jeff Flake, the four Judiciary Committee members express concern that an immigration reform bill will be rushed through Congress without proper oversight in the form of hearings and robust debate. They note that the Gang has “secretly met for months” without consulting

Fight for the right

The Supreme Court could soon end one of the federal government´s most archaic practices. Since the 1930s, the Agriculture Department has turned California raisin growers into pawns of its Raisin Administrative Committee, which can commandeer up to half of the farmer´s crop and then pay them little or nothing for the product. Marvin Horne, a 67-year-old raisin farmer in Fresno, Calif., was fined almost $700,000 for refusing to surrender control of much of his harvest to the government committee in 2002. Horne, who has been growing raisins for more than 40 years,

There are many who scoff at Andrew Cuomo’s chances in a presidential primary campaign, but I am not among them. His name is an iconic Democratic brand, he’s forceful on the stump and a prodigious fund-raiser. Besides, somebody has to win the nomination. Of course, there are hurdles. Saint Hillary is gearing up to run, and there will be a scrum among contenders, probably including Vice President Joe Biden, competing just to be Clinton’s top rival. The scenario, then, is daunting but doable — or at least it was,

A great superpower, weakened by economic calamity at home and staggering under the debt from years of war in the Middle East, finally collapses. A new political best-seller, or an apocalyptic Hollywood blockbuster? Neither — it´s the story told by a 1622 shipwreck whose treasures were desperately needed to shore up the finances of the struggling Spanish Empire. The galleon Buen Jesus y Nuestra Senora del Rosario was one of 28 ships in the Tierra Firme fleet; all were sailing from the New World back to Spain, laden with colonial treasures,

How the ´indispensable man´ became
America´s only six-star general

Historian James Thomas Flexner referred to George Washington as "the indispensable man." Americans all know he was a general, but have you ever wondered what grade of general? How many stars did Gen. Washington have? In today´s Army, a one-star general is a brigadier; two stars is a major general; three stars is a lieutenant general; four stars is just plain general. During World War II, Congress created the five-star general, the modern rank of general of the Army. There had been an earlier grade that was called general of the Army,

On March 30, three days after North Korea severed a military hotline with the South and announced that South Korean President Park Geun-hye “will meet a miserable ruin,” the country declared a state of war. “The time has come to stage a do-or-die final battle,” an official statement said. Meanwhile, many of South Korea’s youth were worried about something else. A 25-year-old pop star named Seo In-guk had appeared on a popular reality TV show the night before and, in a misstep that quickly dominated online conversations, had washed his strawberries incorrectly. If you had an extortion investigation in your "what twists the Rutgers basketball scandal will take next" pool, well, collect your winnings. Also, buy a lottery ticket because you may be telepathic. Because the F.B.I. is investigating Eric Murdock, the whistleblowing former assistant coach, for extortion. University officials let it slip to The New York Times´ Steve Eder that Federal Bureau of Investigation officers recently visited the campus and met with athletic director Tim Pernetti sometime before Pernetti was fired on Friday. They´re trying to determine whether or not Murdock, the former director of player development,

Imagine the pitch to a History Channel executive for the smash hit The Bible. Here’s one scenario: Producers Roma Downey and Mark Burnett: “Hi, we want to produce a story that appeals to all age groups. It’s has everything: love, lust, greed, war, self-sacrifice and redemption. It’s called ‘The Bible.’” Executive: “Could you repeat that? You said ‘The Bible’?” RD and MB: “Yes – we want to retell the Bible for this generation. And we think we can make money doing it. We’ve done a lot of market research —there is no competition out there.”

Since the Shermans of General Patton´s Third Army crossed the Rhine on March 22, 1945, there have been American tanks in Germany. No more, as John Vandiver of Stars and Stripes reports. The U.S. Army’s 69-year history of basing main battle tanks on German soil quietly ended last month when 22 Abrams tanks, a main feature of armored combat units throughout the Cold War, embarked for the U.S. The departure of the last M-1 Abrams tanks coincides with the inactivation of two of the Army’s Germany-based heavy brigades.

Michelle Obama has admitted that she is already tired of the bangs she first sported in January. The First Lady said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight: ´Bangs are a day-by-day proposition. They´re starting to grow out, get a little irritating.´ Still, she hasn´t let her hairdo woes get her down. ´It´s okay,´ she said after her initial complaint. ´We´ll be good.´ The first indication that her hairstyle was becoming a burden came about last weekend, when Malia, 14, was spotted adjusting her mother´s hair during the White House Easter Egg Roll.

President Obama´s biggest gaffe yesterday when speaking of California Attorney General Kamala Harris was not in flirtatiously complimenting her as "the best-looking attorney general," but in introducing an observation from the system of beauty into a forum that was about the system of power. What´s that, you say? Irin Carmon does a great job in Salon in laying out the bounds of propriety for when it´s appropriate to talk about a woman´s looks as a general matter. But I´ve long felt we lack a solid theoretical underpinning for easily discussing these issues, and why precisely it is that

No one is more preoccupied these days with Hillary Clinton´s 2016 plans than the Beltway political class—not even the former presidential candidate herself. To hear some tell it, her decision will be dispositive for all other Democrats thinking of entering the race. And pundits and reporters aren´t the only ones positing the "The Hillary Factor": No less than the House Democratic whip, Steny Hoyer, told BuzzFeed, “I don´t know that anybody would run against Hillary…. If she runs, she clears the field.” It´s an understandable conclusion, given Clinton´s stature in the Democratic Party and her 70 percent

On Friday, Sean Hannity brought Pat Smith, mother of the late Sean Smith, on his radio program. The 34-year-old information management officer was one of four Americans murdered in the Benghazi embassy attack on September 11, 2012. In the chilling interview, a distraught Ms. Smith, in tears, pleaded for answers and spoke of the efforts to silence her. Ms. Smith first relayed how her son, prior to the attack, requested additional security in advance and warned the State Department: He did tell them, ahead of time, he typed it into his little typewriter over there,

Put out an all-points bulletin: Millions of Americans have gone missing from the workforce. Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. The vanishing trend is more than a decade old, but it accelerated during the Great Recession. Throughout 2012, economists held out hope that it had stopped. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank

The Obama White House is scrambling to blame Friday’s abysmal March jobs numbers on the sequester’s trimming of the rate of growth in federal budgets that have yet to fully commence. Her betrayal consists of being gauche enough to acknowledge publicly a truth that everyone who’s come up through Ivy League culture knows intuitively —

The budget President Barack Obama will submit on April 10 will contain a proposal that would prohibit individuals from accumulating more than $3 million in Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) and tax-preferred retirement accounts. According to a White House statement, the Obama administration believes the current rules allow some wealthy individuals "to accumulate many millions of dollars in these accounts, substantially more than is needed to fund reasonable levels of retirement saving." "The budget would limit an individual’s total balance across tax-preferred accounts to an amount sufficient to finance an annuity of not more than $205,000 per
