Benghazi gate
Hernando Today/Tampa Tribune, by Len Tria

Original Article

After almost ¾ of a year the president finally holds a press conference but the press fails to show up. I mean they physically showed up but not journalistically. In the world of politics and press when the press fawns over someone they find a way to either not ask a probing question or they simply ask a non-consequential one. That is what happened on Wednesday when the president was served up a bunch of softball questions that made for one of the dullest press conferences in recent memory. When queried about Benghazi and...

Comments:
I know I, and everyone here, was just shocked...SHOCKED!...that the so-called media only tossed softball questions to the Messiah. No mention of the fine crease in his pants though, kinda disappointing. They would have treated GWB the same way, right?

"Benghazi-Gate" is an insulting term. It dishonors the lives that were lost.

Nobody died in Watergate.

WASHINGTON—In what was described as a major ramping up of sanctions, Secretary of State John Kerry announced on Tuesday that the United States had frozen Russian President Vladimir Putin’s Netflix account, effective immediately. “Unless and until Mr. Putin calls off the annexation of Crimea, no more ‘House of Cards’ or ‘Orange Is the New Black’ for him,” Mr. Kerry said. “The United States will not stand by and reward the annexation of another sovereign nation with a policy of streaming as usual.” While all of the sanctions Mr. Kerry announced on Tuesday were Netflix-related, he warned Mr. Putin that

Two ships broke free Tuesday from the Antarctic ice that had trapped them off the continent´s coast. Cracks in the ice allowed the Russian research ship Akademik Shokalskiy to escape the ice field where it had been stranded for two weeks, Australia´s Maritime Safety Authority said. The Chinese icebreaker Xue Long, which had gotten stuck in the ice during an attempt to extract the Russian ship, broke free about an hour later, officials said. As the saga of the Affordable Care Act continues, another mammoth program being pushed by the Department of Education for approval by all state legislatures is a national curriculum, which is called Common Core State Standards.(Snip)CCSS expedites the process of making government schools a vehicle for propagandizing students. The centralized government would be able to "teach" moral relativism, fairness, political correctness, multiculturalism, tolerance for the progressive agenda and bigotry for the traditional moral values. Barack Obama is either the most inept president ever to sit in the White House or he is an enemy of the Republic. For the last 10 years, I have watched this man´s uncanny rise to the pinnacle of power and vacillated between those two choices. I have come to the conclusion that ideology trumps inexperience. His ego is so massive, and his leftist beliefs so strong, that he is willing to throw our country under the big international bus. Let´s review our Middle East policy since Obama took office. Detectives say Mills and another man busted into a Land O´ Lakes home brandishing a fake gun. Turns out, someone in that home had a real gun and opened fire on the two men, shooting them both. The sheriff´s office is still investigating the incident and tells us the other suspect will be arrested once he is released from the hospital.

We live in an age of surveillance. Right now, more information about us is available to more entities faster and easier than ever before. The FBI has been floating a plan to require all client-side communications software — be it voice, video, or text — to include mandatory backdoors that can be activated by law enforcement bodies to silently eavesdrop on any traffic coming in or out of that program. This will allow authorities to circumvent message-level encryption, which has stymied their current efforts.

MADISON, Wis.--Another year, another campaign. Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker is gearing up for re-election next year, his third race in four years. But the Republican’s courting of out-of-state donors and conservatives, his plans to visit Iowa this week and his refusal to say whether he would serve out another full term if elected suggest he might be seeking a much bigger prize — the presidency. Not that he will openly acknowledge as much.

The State Department has no idea what happened to $6 billion used to pay its contractors. In a special “management alert” made public Thursday, the State Department’s Inspector General Steve Linick warned “significant financial risk and a lack of internal control at the department has led to billions of unaccounted dollars over the last six years. The alert was just the latest example of the federal government’s continued struggle with oversight over its outside contractors. The lack of oversight “exposes the department to significant financial risk,” the auditor said. “It creates conditions conducive to fraud, as corrupt individuals may attempt

In his opening statement during highly anticipated testimony Wednesday on Benghazi, former CIA deputy director Michael Morell claimed to be an intelligence professional who was willing to lay out the facts -- no matter how damaging. "I take very seriously the allegations about how the CIA in general and about how I in particular handled the analysis and the talking points," Morell told the House Intelligence Committee, in his first public testimony on the Benghazi attacks. "The ethical code under which intelligence officers carry out their responsibilities calls for total objectivity." But Morell´s own testimony would appear to undercut that

According to a report via BuzzFeed’s Evan McMorris-Santoro, President Barack Obama requested the opportunity to address the nation in prime time on the major broadcast networks on Tuesday night to announce that the Affordable Care Act had reached 7 million enrollees. Those networks did not, however, accommodate the White House’s request. “Three sources familiar with the request confirmed the White House asked for the prime time slot in their effort both to emphasize a bright moment following the challenging roll out and, more important, to try to reintroduce the country to a law that remains unpopular,”

Do you think members of Congress are overpaid or underpaid? Most likely you’d go with the former, but Democratic congressman Jim Moran argues it’s actually the latter. In an interview with CQ Roll Call, Moran says, “I think the American people should know that the members of Congress are underpaid.” The House recently took up a bill to freeze members’ paychecks, placing another halt on the annual cost-of-living pay increases they would normally get and keeping annual salary at $174,000. Moran believes that this is the wrong way to go, not necessarily talking about himself in particular, but saying there
