Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) said he´s interested in mounting a 2016 presidential bid. "I´m not going to deny that I´m interested," Paul told ABC News in an interview published on Tuesday. A bid for the Republican nomination would continue a family tradition. Paul´s father, Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas), has repeatedly sought the party´s nomination. The elder Paul is retiring at the end of this congressional term. The younger Paul emphasized that he was not yet ready to announce his candidacy, but said he believed his brand of

Isn´t it a bit early to start talking about this? The 2014 congressional elections are way more important at this point in time. If he didn´t run as a Republican would he be a spoiler like Gary Johnson?

He came out and formally endorsed his father for President.(Let´s face it, Ron is a Libertarian).
My understanding is that people of virtue neither put candidate nor party ahead of their country.

Dr/Sen Paul is one of the few rational people
in Congress. When interviewed, he tells the truth. Now we need a minority female to fill out the ticket and make it more widely appealing. ( old white men are so your dad´s
generation, regardless of their experience and skills ). So find me that female and we are off to the races. ( Remember her minimum qualifications must include young, single, and you call the rest ).

The Brits have two expressions that I rather like, if I understand them correctly.

"Early days." As in "it´s early days". It´s too soon to judge, to make a decision. Things need to develop. It is too soon to be talking about 2016. So early that I´ll have to say I have no interest in Rand Paul. But that could change. It´s early days.

The other one I like is "in due course". Just exactly what it sounds like. It implies that patience is required, an orderly process leading to an eventual conclusion. All in good time.

STAMFORD, Conn. — Jeb Bush defended his controversial comments about immigration reform, insisting they were nothing new for him and urging “sensitivity to the immigrant experience.” At a Connecticut Republican party dinner Thursday night, the former Republican governor of Florida did not repeat his remarks from last weekend at his father’s presidential library, when he said that people who come to the United States illegally in search of a better life for their children “broke the law, but it’s not a felony. It’s an act of love.” This time the potential 2016 candidate put it differently. “To be young and

President Barack Obama used a Friday ceremony announcing his new nominee to lead the Department of Health and Human Services as a chance to celebrate the Affordable Care Act, even though it came with an action widely seen as a long time coming — the departure of HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius. Obama, Sebelius and intended nominee Sylvia Mathews Burwell drew several standing ovations in the Rose Garden as they praised the work that led at least 7.5 million Americans to enroll in health insurance through exchanges, and millions more to gain coverage through Medicaid and other programs . Last Thursday, Mozilla, the company that´s home to the web browser Firefox, forced the resignation of CEO Brendan Eich. What, precisely, had Eich done wrong? Back in 2008, Eich had donated $1,000 to the Proposition 8 effort backing traditional marriage in California. Dating website OKCupid posted a ban on Firefox traffic, issuing a message to Firefox users instead: "Those who seek to deny love and instead enforce misery, shame, and frustration are our enemies, and we wish them nothing but failure." Solar power has won the global argument. Photovoltaic energy is already so cheap that it competes with oil, diesel and liquefied natural gas in much of Asia without subsidies. Roughly 29pc of electricity capacity added in America last year came from solar, rising to 100pc even in Massachusetts and Vermont.[Snip] The technology is improving so fast--helped by the US military--that it has achieved a virtous circle.
