Blue Texas? Er …
Hot Air, by Ed Morrissey

Original Article

Posted By:StormCnter, 11/19/2012 5:30:42 PM

After the election this month, in which a Democratic incumbent hung onto the presidency while gaining fewer votes than his first election, there was plenty of bragging about the outcome from the Left. Some claimed that deep-red Texas might become a swing state in the very near future, but TNR’s Nate Cohn throws a big deluge of cold water — and math — on that bet: (Snip) Despite favorable Latino turnout and support, Obama did worse in Texas than he did four years ago and lost by a decisive 16-point margin.

Comments:
So, Ted Cruz....maybe you aren´t as prescient as wanted us to believe.

I´m sorry, everyone, but Texas will be blue by 2014.

Sometime in the next 2 years, at least two conservative Supreme Court justices will either ´´unexpectedly retire´´ or have ´´accidents´´ that force them to quit. NØbama will immediately replace them with judicial activist lie-beral justices, flipping the Supreme Court to solidly lie-beral, who believe the Constitution is just a list of suggestions that wise lie-berals can best interpret.

Immediately after that is completed, NØbama will declare a blanket amnesty and automatic citizenship to 20,000,000+ illegal aliens -- with a sizeable chunk of them being in Texas.

The lie-beral Supreme Court will immediately break tradition and simply declare what NØbama did was constitutional. The Demon-RATS in Congress sure aren´t going to do anything to fight them on that little issue.

Of course, all of these new citizens will immediately register as Demon-RAT voters to thank beloved President NØbama for this wonderful gift of citizenship.

BAM, overnight there will not be a red state left if the union, including Texas.

This country died on November 6, 2012. We can just wait for the carcass to rot away under the weight of it´s rotting flesh of Demon-RAT socialism. We will be a one-party third-world banana republic by 2016...

And sorry #1, but several elections ago, the MSM decided that on election night, states that went Republican were red on their maps, and states that went Demon-RAT were blue.

That became the MSM standard, and is used by all the major networks -- even Fox.

So when you say a red state, you are talking about a Repubican state. The MSM has spoken...

Why do you think that the liberal Democrats are always supporting a massive amnesty and eventual US voting rights for just about every illegal aliens in the USA?

A lot of illegal aliens live in Texas is one good reason.

It´s done. Evil has won. I´m just hoping that NØbamacare includes free Vaseline for all the times we are going to get reamed over the next few years...

Ukraine Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk is coming to Washington this week to discuss Russian troops taking control of the Crimea region of his country, the White House confirmed Sunday to Fox News. Officials have so far provided no details including when the prime minister will arrive or how long he will stay. Russian troops began taking control of facilities in the region about a week ago, amid the political uprising in Ukraine in which residents have ousted President Viktor Yanukovych. President Obama has spoken by phone twice with Russia President Vladimir Putin asking him not to escalate the situation into a military battle

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia -- Two people who traveled on the missing Malaysia Airlines flight under the passports of an Italian and an Austrian citizen appear to have bought their tickets together. The tickets were bought from China Southern Airlines in Thai baht at identical prices, according to China´s official e-ticket verification system Travelsky. The ticket numbers are contiguous, which indicates the tickets were issued together. The new information adds to the mystery that has enveloped the fate of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, the passenger jet that disappeared over Southeast Asia early Saturday on its way to Beijing. “I told you so.” Those have to be four of the most satisfying words in the English language. And Mitt Romney has earned the right to speak that short sentence, over and over again, whenever he chooses. Not that he would — it would be “unbecoming,” to use one of Romney’s old-fashioned words that in 2002 had the mandarins of Political Correctness harrumphing about his “sexism,” I believe the charge was that time. But these days, Mitt looks more and more prescient, and his critics ever more deluded. First of all, Russia has become “our number one geopolitical foe,” as he put it

From his weekend vacation spot in the Florida keys, President Obama called several European leaders Saturday about the crisis in Ukraine, even as Russia beefed up its military occupation of the contested Crimea region. Mr. Obama, ensconced in an exclusive resort in Key Largo, spoke individually by phone with British Prime Minister David Cameron, French President Francois Hollande and Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi. The leaders “reiterated their grave concern over Russia’s clear violation of international law and reaffirmed their support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” the White House said.

Tulare, Calif. When Americans think of California, they tend to think of Silicon Valley, Hollywood and the golden coast—"a place where the grass is really greener, warm, wet and wild" as Santa Barbara native Katy Perry swoons in "California Gurls." Or they think of the liberals and environmentalists who dominate state government. Yet there´s another California, set back from the left coast, in the abundantly fertile Central Valley, which produces half of America´s fruits and vegetables; more than 98% of its almonds, pistachios and walnuts; a third of U.S. dairy exports—and Trader Joe´s Two Buck Chuck wine. Friday morning’s monthly jobs report from the government’s Bureau of Labor Statistics showed a level of February job additions which the establishment press quickly portrayed as tremendous news. The Associated Press described the results as “a welcome surprise,” achieved “despite a blast of harsh winter weather.” Bloomberg News claimed that “the U.S. economy is starting to shake off the effects of the severe winter weather.” Reuters heralded it as an “upbeat sign for weather-beaten economy.” Opportunistic Obama administration Labor Secretary Thomas Perez crowed: “We’re moving in the right direction.” Do not be fooled. Democrats designed the ObamaCare system to mainly fund itself. The low-income subsidies come directly from taxes levied in the so-called Affordable Care Act, as well as some other spending functions. However, it became clear early on that the Obama administration miscalculated the operational costs of ObamaCare when Kathleen Sebelius began pressuring insurers to contribute to Enroll America after the non-profit hired Obama administration figure Anne Filipic to assist HHS in preparing people for the sign-up launch in October. Republicans called this an attempt to get around the Constitution by creating new lines of funding for executive-branch operations, while they also

These words are printed in three languages, loud and clear, on big red signs beside Israeli roads leading to Palestinian-governed territories: This road leads to Area “A” under the Palestinian Authority. Entry for Israeli citizens is forbidden, life-threatening, and against Israeli law. The warning is unlikely to shock anyone familiar with Israel today. As those of us who live here know all too well, a trip inside one of these areas can indeed prove fatal. Yet the term “Israeli citizens” belies a deeply unsettling truth: not all Israelis need avoid entering these areas. Israeli Arabs come and go freely, and are even encouraged

Which means that one of the two is wrong: either Nakamoto is lying through his teeth, or Newsweek has made what is probably the biggest and most embarrassing blunder in its 81-year history. But before we try to work out what the answer is, it’s important to separate out the various different questions: Is Dorian Nakamoto the inventor of bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto? Via Matt Lewis, here’s Maverick once again demonstrating that “cordial relationship” in politico-speak means “two people who can’t publicly admit to hating each other but obviously do.” And it’s a cheap shot. Cruz’s point yesterday at CPAC was that Dole, McCain, and Romney lost because they weren’t conservative enough. That’s not because they’re gutless — he said specifically that they were “good” and “decent” men — but because they’re not committed, full-throated ideologues, even less so when they’re fighting for purple states in a national election. We can debate whether that’s true but there’s nothing offensive in raising the subject.

What’s been said of confession — that it is good for one’s soul but bad for one’s reputation — can also be true of testifying to Congress, so Lois Lerner has chosen to stay silent. Hers, however, is an eloquent silence. The most intrusive and potentially most punitive federal agency has been politicized; the IRS has become an appendage of Barack Obama’s party. Furthermore, congruent with exhortations from some congressional Democrats, it is intensifying its efforts to suffocate groups critical of progressives, by delaying what once was the swift, routine granting of tax-exempt status. So, the IRS, far from repenting

One of the most seismic changes in American politics over the last decade has been the emergence of a sharp generational split among the electorate. The Democratic Party owes its success in the last two presidential elections almost entirely to overwhelming support among the very young, which has overcome continued conservatism among older voters. The Pew Research Institute has dominated the field of exploring the ideological cleavages among different generations. And its latest survey shows again how the liberalism of the youngest voting cohort, millennials, remains firm, and likely to continue to recast the electorate. A few charts from the survey

But since definitions of an "in name only" marriage vary, such as "a marriage of convenience" or "a sexless marriage," and Maraniss failed to explain his claim, it is unclear what he was implying.
