| After a week of hearings on Capitol Hill about the attacks in Benghazi, Libya, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., continued his criticism of U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice for blaming the attacks on the U.S. Consulate on a spontaneous demonstration. He said reaffirmed his opposition to her possible nomination to Secretary of State. "[S]he has a lot of explaining to do, and I´m curious why she has not repudiated those remarks," McCain said on "Face the Nation." On the same program, Sen. Richard Durbin, D-Ill., however, said ongoing Republican finger-pointing at Rice is misguided and political.

If Durbin doesn´t want fingers pointed at Rice, perhaps he can find out who is responsible for feeding her the talking points with the fairy tale about the anti-Islam film.
Rather than complaining about it - why isn´t there a B.O. administration person who is willing to come to the rescue of that poor abused black lady who lied to America.

When MSNBC host Martin Bashir disappeared from his post at the helm of his eponymous 4 p.m. program, many assumed that it had something to do with the fact that the first terror attack on U.S. soil since 9/11 had occurred just hours earlier. This was backed up by the fact that his program was guest-anchored by MSNBC’s straight news purveyors and not his frequent fill in hosts Karen Finney or Joy-Ann Reid. It was, however, soon revealed that Bashir was “on assignment,” but few could have been aware of how inappropriate that assignment would be. Bashir,

Bill O’Reilly was on fire tonight as he reacted to former Congressman Barney Frank using the Boston bombings in order to make a political point about taxes. Frank not only said that tax cuts would have made recovery efforts worse, but he also opined that the reaction was “greatly hyperbolic” and stated, “this isn’t the end of the world.” O’Reilly could not hide his outrage at Frank, calling him a “left-wing bomb thrower” and said he needs to “shut up until the people are buried.” Frank’s comments were so shocking, he was called out while making his

The 844-page immigration reform draft written by the Senate Gang of Eight includes more than 20 allowances for unrestricted spending for everything from a Comprehensive Immigration Reform Trust Fund to radios for state and local cops, raising concerns among fiscal conservatives that the bill is too expensive. The wording of the spending language varies in the language, but it is sized up in the oft-used phrase: "such sums as may be necessary." Two congressional advisors said on background that open-ended funding in the bill will come under attack, especially since it already includes $2 billion for

With the failure of the Democrats’ attempt to exploit the Newtown school shooting to press forward gun control measures, President Obama took to the microphones along with the relatives of Sandy Hook victims to demonize his opposition. This, of course, was his strategy all along: knowing that he did not have 60 votes in the Democrat-controlled Senate to pass his gun control legislation, he pressed forward anyway, hoping to paint Republicans as intransigent, immoral tools of the gun lobby who don’t care about dead children. After demonizing Republicans, Obama hopes, he can press Americans into voting Democrats

The 844-page immigration reform bill the bipartisan “Gang of Eight” dropped in the dead of night contains a lucrative handout that would give taxpayer-funded free cell phones to some people who live or work near the U.S. border with Mexico. Pages 43 and 44 of the bill detail what one conservative blogger, Javier Manjarres of Shark Tank, has already described as the “ObamaPhone” from Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL). That section reads: SEC. 1107. ACCESS TO EMERGENCY PERSONNEL. (a) SOUTHWEST BORDER REGION EMERGENCY COM- MUNICATIONS GRANTS.— (1) IN GENERAL.—The Secretary, in consultation with the governors of the

According to CBS News reporter Sharyl Attkisson, who has covered the Benghazi terror attack resulting in the death of four Americans including our Ambassador to Libya, new whistleblowers are speaking to Congressional investigators. For months, Republican members of Congress have complained about lack of access to the survivors of the Benghazi attacks, and the Obama administration has been anything but forthcoming on their location and when Republicans will have the opportunity to question those witnesses.

Sen. Max Baucus (D-MT) warned he sees “a huge train wreck coming down” with the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, known to its critics as Obamacare. The candid comments came during a Wednesday hearing with Obama’s Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius. “I´m very concerned that not enough is being done so far--very concerned," said Baucus. "Small businesses have no idea what to do, what to expect.” Baucus appeared frustrated with Sebelius’s unresponsiveness in supplying the senator with information designed to educate and assist citizens with understanding the massively complex healthcare overhaul.

A man from Tupelo, Miss. has been arrested as a suspect in the case of two letters mailed to the president and a Mississippi senator, letters that initially tested positive for ricin. The man was identified as Kenneth Curtis, NBC News reported. Meanwhile, more tests have been ordered after a second set of ricin tests on the letters sent to the White House and the Senate came back inconclusive, NBC News reports. The tests show some level of the deadly poison, but the potency is uncertain, so authorities can’t tell whether the material is harmful or not.

BOSTON - A law enforcement official has told CBS News that an arrest has been made in the Boston Marathon bombings. The person has been taken into custody by federal marshals and will be in court Wednesday afternoon. Investigators made a “clear identification” of a suspect in the bombings, according to CNN, with surveillance video. Correspondent John King, a Boston native, said authorities have a clear video image of a “dark-skinned male” placing a bag at the second bomb site outside of the Forum restaurant on Boylston Street and then leaving the area before that explosion. Protocol: President Obama declined to send a high-level delegation to Wednesday´s funeral of Britain´s Margaret Thatcher. It´s a measure of how little he values the special relationship — and a sign of his own smallness. Back in more gracious times, vice presidents routinely attended funerals of foreign dignitaries. As such, the presence of Vice President Joe Biden — if not Obama himself — would seem fitting for as significant a U.S. ally as the late Prime Minister Thatcher, if not out of warmth of feeling, then simply to represent the U.S.´ gratitude. President Obama angrily blamed the defeat Wednesday of his centerpiece gun-control proposal on lies spread by the National Rifle Association, calling it “a pretty shameful day for Washington.” “The gun lobby and its allies willfully lied about the bill,” Mr. Obama said in the White House rose garden about 90 minutes after the vote. “It came down to politics.” As he spoke, Mr. Obama was surrounded by family members of victims of the Newtown, Conn., school shooting. Also with him was former Rep. Gabby Giffords of Arizona, wounded in an assassination attempt.

Authorities on Tuesday revealed little new information about the terrorist attack at the Boston Marathon, the most high-profile bombing on U.S. soil in more than a decade and a tragedy that presents a new test for President Obama. Obama, like all Americans, is standing by, waiting for answers as to who planted two bombs improvised from pressure cookers at the finish line of the storied race, and why. Three Americans were killed in Monday´s attack and more than 170 others were injured. "Anytime bombs are used to target innocent civilians, it is an act of terror," Obama said,

She accused Bush of being unavailable to the American people for the “first couple weeks” after the attack on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. As we now move into the official Political Aftermath period of the Boston bombing — the period that will determine the long-term legislative fallout of the atrocity — the dynamics of privilege will undoubtedly influence the nation’s collective reaction to the attacks. That’s because privilege tends to determine: 1) which groups are — and are not — collectively denigrated or targeted for the unlawful actions of individuals; and 2) how big and politically game-changing the overall reaction ends up being.

Washington — President Barack Obama says the Senate’s opposition to a bill that would have expanded background checks for gun buyers marks a “shameful day” in Washington. He says a minority of senators decided “it wasn’t worth it” to protect the nation’s children. Obama spoke in the Rose Garden shortly after the Senate vote rejecting a bipartisan effort to expand federal background checks to more firearms buyers. (Snip) The president pinned the blame for the measures failure, though five Democrats also opposed the plan. He also said the gun lobby and its allies “willfully lied” about background check bill.

"I just see a huge train wreck coming down," Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus, D-Mont., told Obama´s health care chief during a routine budget hearing that suddenly turned tense. "I think we’ve got a good chance of seeing it pass if members of Congress are listening to the American people," President Obama said in an interview on NBC´s "Today Show" that aired on Tuesday. "The notion that Congress would defy the overwhelming instinct of the American people after what we saw happen in Newtown, I think, is unimaginable." Obama was then asked by Savannah Guthrie how he could expect Democrats in red states to vote on this bill when he, as a Senator, didn´t have to himself.
