“There is not a liberal America and a conservative America — there is the United States of America. There is not a black America and a white America and latino America and Asian America — there’s the United States of America.” ~Barack Obama We are now only two weeks past the 2012 election. Since then, every state in the country has residents who have submitted petitions for secession to the White House from the Union. Seven as of this writing have reached the 25,000 signers required for an official White House response.

We are a conservative-leaning America, but we have elected a very liberal President, and added more liberal Democrats to the Senate.

Republicans need to focus on outlining the agenda as economics, and how the Democrats are far more liberal than the electorate as a whole.
Focus on how the Liberal EPA will destroy the economic output, thus, revenues that will affect teachers, fire and police, in particular for that region.

I think the biggest issue is how to persuade the "moochers" to become "creators". I wonder if any of the 18,500 workers at the former Hostess Co had the light go off in their head?

I see where this guy is coming from and share his concerns, if not all of his recommendations. But the following is a major, Huh???

FTA: ´´Businesses need to start ignoring harmful decrees from Washington. Drill on federal land, open the Keystone pipeline and disregard the other nonsense that threatens our economy.´´

Mr. O´Bryant, Make that a double, major, Huh???
Easy for YOU to recommend, sir.

#4, this is a political issue, not a ´law´ issue. The libatrds ignore law when they overstep the limits placed on them by the constitution. They count on the conservatives remaining properly-mannered rubes who follow the ´law´ - so the libtards cheat, murder and steal to gain a position manufacturing ´laws´ the rubes will be forced by their socially-engineered natures to follow. The libtards are dramatically out-numbered by conservatives. Once the rubes wake-up and start ignoring the libtards where they´ve overstepped the supreme ´law´ of the land known as the constitution, the libtards can escalate and cause a backlash (remember they´re seriously outnumbered) or face the fact they´ve lost. Most libtard controlled governments in the past escalated - and it didn´t turn out well for them. Remember, government is mostly a fiction that only works as long as all involved play along with the ´perception´.

Just doing my part and I call it boycotting America. I refuse from now on to watch any show/movie that features africans, they have become the most racist people in this country. Refuse to go to any movies, I go to at least one a month with my elderly mother and brother. We have decided to rent a movie and have lunch at home from now on. We are making most of our Christmas gifts or giving stuff I bought last year during the sales. Don´t spend any money beyond basic necessities, food, utilities, etc.. I´m down from four shows a week on TV to three, last week´s episode of Person of Interest was highlighting homosexual marriage, so will no longer watch it. Cut back on eating out, try to buy things not made in China. These are just a few things I can think of off the top of my head, but you all get my drift.

To add to a previous poster, we have lost the critical distinctions between law, meaning legislation; regulations, meaning the diktats and ukases published by unelected bureaucrats; and rulings, the whims and opinions put forth by unelected (ans apparently unaccountable) black robed Brahmins.
As a citizen, I am bound to heed LAWS.
I have considerably less reverence for rulings and regulations.
´Stroke of a pen, law of the land´ has zero Constitutional support.
Neither does the assumption that judges have the power to make law via their opinions.
A pox on all of them.

Let´s also try to support our business friends...Chick-fil-A, etc. There are plenty out there with good conservative management or ownership.

Some years ago I quit watching regular TV shows like Law and Order...basically leftist, PC propaganda. If you need a professional person try to pick someone on our side.

It´s time to toughen up and use what influence and money we have to do all we can. The left in this country are the real enemy and need to be treated as enemies in every way we can.

No, America is doomed. The poor in this country are not actually poor. The US Government pays $60,000 to each POOR household. They come in to the ER for their FREE healthcare, they all have cell phones, they are obese, they have body piercings and they all have tattoos. My 40 year old nephew has never had a job in his life; he lives on welfare, he has food stamps, and the government pays most of utility bill in Phoenix. He and his other "poor" friends run the air-conditioner all day and all night for $100 per month. They are all buying GM cars, because Ally (GM´s finance company) is owned 80% by the government, and they can all buy cars with no down, and when they get the car and do not make the payment, they simply hide the car at a friend´s house. I am sick of it.

The author’s points are well taken.

My family is debt-free and deals on a cash basis. We don’t patronize lefty organizations (Starbucks, Progressive Insurance, Ben & Jerry, etc.

It’s important to remember that some 70 – 80% of the GDP is attributable to consumer spending. And we little people are the controllers of consumer spending. By judicial use of the power we can move mountains.

Spend shrewdly, my friends; yours is the power

I agree about saving and spending. I am buying as little as possible. Christmans will be sensible and conservative this year. I have not sent greeting cards in the last few years. I have not had cable for years and have never missed it. I plan not to renew magazine subscriptions and try to buy from red states. I threw my LL Bean catalog in the garbage the day it arrived. My house and 11 year old car are paid for. I save and pay in cash when I have to buy something. I was an office worker before retiring. I am not rich, but if I can do this almost anyone can. Watch the spending and save a little each week/month.

No need to panic. Thoughtfull, hardworking, motivated, thrifty people will always be sucessfull no matter who is president, what political party is in power or what laws, taxes, mandates or entitlements are enacted. Remember, professional benefit seekers will never accumulate wealth or likely elevate themselves. They will never compete in the world of ideas or achievements. Best to profit from the current liberal democratic government policies and prepare to profit from conservative Republican policies when they regain power.

Ah, Thanksgiving: That treasured, American holiday where you can eat an incredibly uncomfortable amount of food and have incredibly uncomfortable political conversations, all at the same time! This Thanksgiving, it´s a pretty safe bet that debates over Obamacare will be just about as central as turkey. As Wonkblog readers hit the road and head home, we didn´t want to leave you totally unprepared. Here´s a guide to the questions you might get -- and their answers. This is probably the most obvious question to come up on Thursday: How busted is this law? These questions might refer to recent reports that HealthCare.gov

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – President Obama compared the Republican budget plan to a "stinkburger" or "meanwich" during a speech here Wednesday, using a series of zingers in an attempt to strike a contrast with the GOP on economic issues in an election year. In a speech to an enthusiastic crowd of 1,400 at the University of Michigan, Obama repeatedly mocked Republican ideas about how to improve the economy, as he touted his own proposal to raise the minimum wage. Obama, who visited the local Zingerman´s deli before the speech, said that Republican proposals to cut taxes for wealthier Americans and

Imagine going to work one day only to be, in effect, fired -- not because of anything you did or didn’t do at your job, but because of something you did in your personal life. Something religious. Or maybe, something political.(snip)That’s exactly what happened to Brendan Eich, a highly-respected tech guru in Silicon Valley and co-founder of Mozilla Corporation, after he was appointed CEO in late March. In a statement released Thursday, Mozilla -- which makes the Firefox Web browser -- apologized for not reacting more quickly to the controversy surrounding Eich, who made a 2008 donation supporting California´s plan on gay marriage, The Guardian reports. "We know why people are hurt and angry, and they are right: it´s because we haven´t stayed true to ourselves," said Mozilla executive chairwoman Mitchell Baker in a statement. The North Carolina State Board of Elections has found thousands of instances of voter fraud in the state, thanks to a 28-state crosscheck of voter rolls. Initial findings suggest widespread election fraud. 765 voters with an exact match of first and last name, DOB and last four digits of SSN were registered in N.C. and another state and voted in N.C. and the other state in the 2012 general election. 35,750 voters with the same first and last name and DOB were registered in N.C. and another state and voted in both states in the 2012 general election. 155,692 voters

In his opening statement during highly anticipated testimony Wednesday on Benghazi, former CIA deputy director Michael Morell claimed to be an intelligence professional who was willing to lay out the facts -- no matter how damaging. "I take very seriously the allegations about how the CIA in general and about how I in particular handled the analysis and the talking points," Morell told the House Intelligence Committee, in his first public testimony on the Benghazi attacks. "The ethical code under which intelligence officers carry out their responsibilities calls for total objectivity." But Morell´s own testimony would appear to undercut that

The State Department has no idea what happened to $6 billion used to pay its contractors. In a special “management alert” made public Thursday, the State Department’s Inspector General Steve Linick warned “significant financial risk and a lack of internal control at the department has led to billions of unaccounted dollars over the last six years. The alert was just the latest example of the federal government’s continued struggle with oversight over its outside contractors. The lack of oversight “exposes the department to significant financial risk,” the auditor said. “It creates conditions conducive to fraud, as corrupt individuals may attempt

Sources on the ground in Benghazi during the 2012 terror attack are pushing back hard on former CIA acting director Mike Morell´s testimony on Capitol Hill, where he defended his role in shaping the administration´s narrative and claimed politics were not involved. As part of Morell´s testimony on Wednesday, the former acting and deputy CIA director acknowledged that he overruled the guidance of the top CIA officer in Libya at the time. That official told Morell the attack was not an "escalation of protests," but Morell said he had to weigh that against analysts who concluded the opposite. He ultimately went

Big changes could be just down the road for North Carolina drivers. A proposal is in the works that would change the state tax system to charge drivers by the mile, instead of at the gas pump. The proposal would be to charge a half cent per mile for cars, which would generate almost $500 million in annual state revenue. A driver who travelled 15,000 miles in a year would pay about $75. "Basically you pay per the mile. It´s treating transportation as a utility, much like your water and sewer," said Larry Goode, with the Institute of Transportation Research and

Do you think members of Congress are overpaid or underpaid? Most likely you’d go with the former, but Democratic congressman Jim Moran argues it’s actually the latter. In an interview with CQ Roll Call, Moran says, “I think the American people should know that the members of Congress are underpaid.” The House recently took up a bill to freeze members’ paychecks, placing another halt on the annual cost-of-living pay increases they would normally get and keeping annual salary at $174,000. Moran believes that this is the wrong way to go, not necessarily talking about himself in particular, but saying there

The human kindling that makes up the flammable Republican base may soon burst into flames, again. Portions of that excitable cohort are looking — some with fawn-like eyes filled with hurt, others with sparks shooting from eyes narrowed like gun slits — askance at other Republicans urging Jeb Bush to seek the 2016 presidential nomination. A candidacy by Florida’s former governor would be desirable. But if Republicans want to avoid intra-party carnage, they should be very careful about doing what The Post recently reported: “Many of the Republican Party’s most powerful insiders and financiers have begun a behind-the-scenes campaign to draft

According to a report via BuzzFeed’s Evan McMorris-Santoro, President Barack Obama requested the opportunity to address the nation in prime time on the major broadcast networks on Tuesday night to announce that the Affordable Care Act had reached 7 million enrollees. Those networks did not, however, accommodate the White House’s request. “Three sources familiar with the request confirmed the White House asked for the prime time slot in their effort both to emphasize a bright moment following the challenging roll out and, more important, to try to reintroduce the country to a law that remains unpopular,”
