Bill O´Reilly of Fox News and Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal have added their voices to the swelling chorus of second-guessers saying the Mitt Romney ran the race badly and therefore "deserved to lose" to Barack Obama on Nov. 6. But here´s a simpler and, I think, better explanation. There is no magic that dictates that the American people in their infinite wisdom will always make the right choice, and in this instance they ´doubled down´ (to use one of the president´s favorite expressions) in returning a very bad president
O´Reilly softpedaled his comments on Zippy before the election, calling him merely a politician instead of a racist, Marxist traitor bent on destroying America. He should been awake and using his platform sooner.
I really think fraud stole Florida. Not sure about the other states but Florida is for sure imho. Still, Romney was just like the conservatives on Lucianne thought he was: nice, thoughtful and bland. Sadly, in todays world the voters expect POW BANG BOOM. He had the money for all of that but was too timid. His ´handlers´ were also bland and often short sighted. I agree the two dud senatorial candidates who don´t know rape from raisin did not help him. And, Christie showed many of us he is amusing but just a me me me blowhard. Our so called conservative writers did what they could but it is hard to fight a corrupt media. And then there was Benghezi...where was McCain, Graham and the Randy General when the country needed them before the election. All I can do is continue to pray and hope for the best. I will pray also for Israel. They need our prayers with no friends anywhere.
What #1 said. IMO, it IS the fault of the American people because enough of THEM voted to put the community-agitator-in-chief back in office for another four years. And let´s not forget the Election FRAUD that was rampant through the Country. If the voting "process" isn´t straightened out, we will never see another Republican President elected. That will make some people happy, but the end result will be catastrophic for America.
I disagree completely with Bill on this one but of course, my job does not depend on it. I think Romney tried as hard as he could to run and honest and hard campaign. The Democrats cheated on every level from voter fraud to lying about Romney´s record and the Press was complicit by allowing it to happen by supporting Obama. Romney did not have a chance.
ROMNEY WON!!! The electronic machines stole the election for Obama...The RNC knew Romney votes were stolen BEFORE the election and did nothing ...same thing for the military vote...and the absentee vote. Obama did not win because he got 99% to 146% of the usual moron vote, he won because the usual GOP and independent votes for Romney were deleted, shredded or changed (the sorosbots used the 2010 Republican win to factor in the % of cheat needed for Obama). The RNC and RINO´s are fine with the cheat if it ends the Conservative control of the GOP...as evidenced by STUPID statements from clowns like O´Reilly & Jindal who also are say if we raise taxes it will convince blacks, illegals, minorities, gays and the abortion-gals to vote Republican...FOOLS!!!!
Embarassingly inane article. So the stupid voters are to blame because they didn´t see the decency and goodness of Willard the Inevitable and his good breeding, fine manners and proper schooling? Really? The paranoids won´t accept it but a majority of voters saw things differently. They saw a candidate who stood for and would say anything, everything and nothing, all in the same sentence who was a trendy squish leading a center-right party. So they decided better the incompetent fraud we know than this fraud we don´t. That the GOP would select a feckless and timid out of touch lefty says volumes about the rot at the core of the GOP.
One day after the Yemeni authorities took credit for disrupting a terrorist plot against oil and gas lines there, the White House continued to rigorously defend the administration´s decision to keep a record numbers of embassies around the world shuttered with no end in sight to the closures. U.S. officials are remaining on high alert and will continue to keep 19 diplomatic facilities in the Middle East, Northern Africa and Central Asia shuttered as intelligence agencies evaluate the threat level. "I think there will be an assessment, and when there´s an assessment that this current threat is not what it was,
Staff Sergeant Alonzo Lunsford told prosecutors this week that Major Nidal Hasan shouted “Allahu Akbar” before he opened fire on military personnel at the Fort Hood base in 2009. Hasan’s Islamism-animated killing spree caused the deaths of 13 people and one unborn child, and wounded 32 other individuals. In a remarkable and heartbreaking Washington Post opinion piece today, Shawn Manning, who barely survived Hasan’s rampage, urged the U.S. Army to designate the murderous act as terrorism. Sadly, the U.S. Army and the Pentagon steadfastly insist on the labeling the jihadi killing a non-ideological form of “workplace violence.” Manning described Hasan’s horrific violence:
"It depends on what the meaning of the word ´is´ is." Just like slap bracelets and Furbies, that Bill Clinton quote pungently evokes the 1990s. The ´90s are so hot right now! Maybe that explains what President Obama told Jay Leno last night during an appearance on The Tonight Show, because his answer was positively Clintonian. Here´s a transcript, with emphasis added: LENO: It´s safe to say that we learned about these threats through the NSA intelligence program? Is that a fair assessment? OBAMA: Well, this intelligence-gathering that we do is a critical component of counterterrorism. And obviously, with Mr. Snowden
Sometimes politics is just “one damned thing after another.” But sometimes not. Sometimes those damned things constitute a trend and form a pattern. So it is today, with President Barack Obama’s foreign policy. * Our defense capabilities are being slashed. As the editors of the Washington Post pointed out two weeks ago, funding for the Pentagon “is on track to fall tens of billions short of what it needs to fulfill the strategic mission that President Obama has articulated for national defense.” The Post noted that “Mr. Obama told congressional Democrats that the Pentagon should get no more attention
One of the most startling moments of the Detroit bankruptcy was when a judge stepped in to stay the bankruptcy at the behest of the city’s public sector unions…and then said that she was going to tell the president about this. “It’s cheating, sir, and it’s cheating good people who work,” the judge told assistant Attorney General Brian Devlin. “It’s also not honoring the (United States) president, who took (Detroit’s auto companies) out of bankruptcy.” Aquilina said she would make sure President Obama got a copy of her order. "I know he’s watching this,” she said, predicting the president ultimately
Todd Gloria, a San Diego city councilman, was getting his car washed the recently, at the same place he’s gone every week for years, when he was approached by the typically silent attendant who hands out the tickets. “You’re that councilman, right?” the attendant asked him. “When are we going to get rid of this guy? What do I have to do to help?” “This guy” is Mayor Bob Filner who, as of Wednesday, has been accused by 13 women of sexual harassment. In addition to former city council members and campaign staffers, the accusers now include
He did it once before for the DREAMers in a cynical but effective bid to drum up Latino turnout before the election. Why wouldn’t he do it again ahead of the midterms, with Democrats desperate to rally their base to hold back a Republican tide? Remember, this is a guy willing to ignore key provisions of his own landmark health-care law, with not even a pretense of having the legal authority to do so, if it’ll help Democrats politically. According to O’s, he’s constitutionally empowered to Do Good For The People whenever he thinks Congress is dragging
Official warnings of imminent—or even of not so imminent—al-Qaida attacks have (fortunately) had a perfect record: They never seem to pan out. During the George W. Bush administration, the public was regaled repeatedly with warnings that intelligence had determined, through an in-depth analysis of “chatter” and other such information, that al-Qaida was about to strike again. Thus in May 2004—a few months before the presidential election—Attorney General John Ashcroft, standing beside the grim-faced director of the FBI, Robert Mueller, announced that “credible intelligence from multiple sources” indicated that al-Qaida was planning an attack
LITTLE EGG HARBOR, N.J. — Sixteen workers from a county garage in New Jersey have one of the three winning tickets in the $448 million Powerball jackpot, officials in Ocean County, said Thursday. Ocean County Vehicle Maintenance Department Director Jim Pine and Freeholder Jack Kelly said the employees have the ticket sold at an Acme Markets store in Little Egg Harbor, according to the Press of Atlantic City. A Minnesota has man claimed his third of Wednesday´s jackpot. The holder of the third ticket, also from New Jersey, has not come forward yet.
NOTORIOUS White House intern Monica Lewinsky bounced back from her fizzled affair with then- President Bill Clinton by targeting another high-profile married man – John F. Kennedy Jr.! The ENQUIRER has learned that as Monica’s scandalous romance with Clinton waned, she begged in a letter to a top presidential adviser for a job at Kennedy’s political magazine “George” in hopes of bedding America’s favorite son. “Monica was convinced that if she could seduce the president of the United States – the most powerful man in the world – then she’d easily be able to sleep with JFK Jr.,”
Insurance companies are saying premiums could increase up to 400 percent as a result of Obamacare. WMDT reports:(Snip for video)"The estimated increases would be tied to the cost of implementing the new regulations, taxes, fees, and mandates in the health care reform law," the anchor says. "The average increase is expected to be about 100 percent and could be as high as 400 percent, according to a report released on Monday."
Authorities say a grenade-wielding man went on a shooting rampage in Dallas and DeSoto late Wednesday, killing four people and wounding four others. The suspect has been identified as Erbie Bowser, 44. Authorities say it appears he was trying to kill a former girlfriend. It is believed she is among the victims. Officials say the rampage began about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday in Dallas at a home in the 7100 block of Long Canyon Trail, near West Wheatland Road and Mountain Creek Parkway. He killed two people and wounded two others there, police said. Toya Smith, 43, and Tasmia Allen, 17,
New Jersey Governor Chris Christie holds a narrow lead among Republicans for the party’s 2016 presidential nomination, but even more GOP voters say he’s the candidate they least want to see nominated. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that Christie earns 21% support when Republican voters are asked whom they would vote for if the party’s primary in their state were held today. Florida Senator Marco Rubio runs a close second with 18% of the GOP vote, followed by former Florida Governor Jeb Bush at 16% and Kentucky Senator Rand Paul with 15% of the vote.
Barack Obama delivered one gaffe after another in his August 6 interview with Jay Leno, but the networks that usually mock every mistake or slip of the tongue made by Republicans ignored the President´s verbal mishaps. ABC´s Good Morning America, CBS´s This Morning and NBC´s Today show, on Wednesday morning, all bypassed the chance to criticize Obama for: downplaying the threat of terrorism; falsely claiming Vladimir Putin once ran the KGB; placing the Atlantic coast cities of Savannah, Charleston and Jacksonville on the Gulf of Mexico; confusing the Winter Olympics with the Summer Olympics. First up, on the
WASHINGTON — U.S. officials insisted Tuesday that extraordinary security measures for nearly two dozen diplomatic posts were to thwart an “immediate, specific threat,” a claim questioned by counterterrorism experts, who note that the alert covers an incongruous set of nations from the Middle East to an island off the southern coast of Africa. Analysts don’t dispute the Obama administration’s narrative that it’s gleaned intelligence on a plot involving al Qaida’s most active affiliate, the Yemen-based Arabian Peninsula branch. That would explain why most U.S. posts in the Persian Gulf are on lockdown, including the U.
Former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney jumped into the debate over the GOP’s future Tuesday night, warning congressional Republicans against forcing a government shutdown in their quest to stop President Barack Obama’s signature health care law. Romney addressed more than 200 donors on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee at a fundraiser for the New Hampshire Republican Party, staged just four miles from the vacation home where he has spent much of the summer with his family. The event was closed to the media, but his office released his prepared remarks.
Ending a war is a good thing. Killing civilians a bad thing. Deliberately targeting civilians is murder, and is never morally licit, even in pursuit of a good thing such as ending a war. The tens of thousands of Japanese non-combatants we killed 68 years ago this week with two nuclear bombs were not “collateral damage” of military strikes. They were the intended targets. We hoped that mass murder would bring the Japanese emperor to surrender. It worked, and American and Japanese soldiers’ lives were probably saved by it —
Last month we learned that Megyn Kelly was leaving her daytime anchor gig to take over a Fox News primetime slot. According to an “exclusive” Drudge Report flash this afternoon, that time slot will be 9 p.m. ET. “Superstar newswoman Megyn Kelly has landed the 9 PM slot, top sources reveal,” the Drudge Report wrote. “The shock announcement is set for later this month.” Fox’s 9 p.m. hour is currently helmed by Sean Hannity, leading to speculation over whether he could be out of a primetime gig. There are many possible outcomes from this lineup change,
The U.S. State Department issued a global alert about the terrorist threat allegedly posed by Al-Qaeda in Yemen. The USA announced the closure of its missions in the Middle East and Africa, and their example was followed by France, Britain, and Germany. However, this was only an attempt to justify the activities of the National Security Agency.Last Saturday, right after alerting of the terror threat civilians and BOLO complex ("be on the lookout") that includes law enforcement and federal officials, President Barack Obama went to play golf, and then celebrated his birthday at the presidential retreat at Camp David.
Over the last week, there has been a lot of buzz about a supposed CIA angle to the Benghazi story. Specifically, it has been alleged that a substantial number of CIA employees were on the ground in Benghazi, carrying out a mission that involved rounding up Libyan weapons and transferring them to rebels in Syria. Further, it has been reported that the CIA has leaned on its employees not to cooperate with Congressional investigations or the media, and it has been suggested that the CIA’s role in Benghazi may be related to the al Qaeda
In a rare diplomatic snub, President Obama is canceling plans to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow next month. The decision reflects both U.S. anger over Russia´s harboring of National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden and growing frustration within the Obama administration over what it sees as Moscow´s stubbornness on other key issues, including missile defense and human rights. Obama will still attend the Group of 20 economic summit in St. Petersburg, Russia, but a top White House official said the president had no plans to hold one-on-one talks with Putin while there.
In a move some claim is tantamount to social engineering, the Department of Housing and Urban Development is imposing a new rule that would allow the feds to track diversity in America’s neighborhoods and then push policies to change those it deems discriminatory. The policy is called, "Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing." It will require HUD to gather data on segregation and discrimination in every single neighborhood and try to remedy it. HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan unveiled the federal rule at the NAACP convention in July. "Unfortunately, in too many of our hardest hit communities, no matter how hard
Retired 68-year-old US Army general and former NATO Supreme Allied Commander Wesley K. Clark has won yet another esteemed decoration — he is dating 30-year-old Shauna Mei, the founder of online retailer AHAlife.com. Clark, who was married to Gertrude Kingston Clark for 45 years before filing for divorce last year, is spending time with the young New York-based entrepreneur, who graduated from MIT and worked at Goldman Sachs as an investment banker before launching her luxury e-commerce site. Clark and Mei were spotted together recently in the Hamptons,
President Obama is slated to deliver a speech later this month commemorating the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington in which Martin Luther King Jr. gave his famous “I Have a Dream” speech. Obama will deliver his speech from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial — the same place where King spoke 50 years ago. The Let Freedom Ring ceremony will be held Aug. 28. "It’s obviously a historic, seminal event in the country. It’s part of my generation’s formative memory and it’s a good time for us to do some reflection,"
