Union: ´Bain-style´ killing of Twinkie
Politico, by Kevin Cirilli

Original Article

Posted By:annapolis2010dad, 11/16/2012 9:03:27 PM

The Bain attack is back. This time it’s being used against Hostess Brands, the Twinkies and Wonder Bread maker that announced Friday it was closing. AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka drew the comparison in a public statement Friday. “What’s happening with Hostess Brands is a microcosm of what’s wrong with America, as Bain-style Wall Street vultures make themselves rich by making America poor,” Trumka said in a public statement. “Crony capitalism and consistently poor management drove Hostess into the ground, but its workers are paying the price."

Logically it follows that Trumka should step up and buy the company and run it himself. I´m sure the union can do an infinitely better job of running the company while providing the union workers with top wages and benefits.

Moochelle is really at the root...and Bloomburg...and all the nanny state advocates who don´t want anyone to eat these things. Now, 18,500 former employees won´t eat except on the dole.

They blow the dog whistle, "Bain", "wall street vultures" and, like clockwork, the republicans and base goes on defense, starts quivering, and ultimately crumbles. And they will continue to blow these whistles until you stop responding.

This is no coincidence or chance, neither the union refusing to accept the deal nor this explanation. Hostess cupcakes can be sacrificed in order to crush Romney voters, on an ongoing basis - they do not just win, they want to annihilate. They are masters of manipulation. As Rush said, it´s a never-ending campaign.

Well of course he blamed a Republican. Barack Obama has been doing it for five years and and he was rewarded with re-election so what does Trumka have to lose. History has shown that members believe anything the union bosses tell them, including a 100% reduction in their wages (no job at all now) is better that a temporary 8% reduction to allow for emergence from financial troubles by their employer. One third of the workers were union. ONE-THIRD..... And yet they brought everyone down. Now 18,500 out of work or soon to be and many will likely never find employment again. Yep, we are definitely headed in the right direction. No doubt Michelle Obama and New York’s Nanny Bloomberg are happy to see these high-sugar treats off the market so what the Hell; for them it’s a win-win.

You know your union is out of line when it won´t accept a deal that the Teamsters did accept. There is plenty of blame to share in the demise of Hostess but the bakers union gets credit for driving the final stake. Trumka isn´t even worthy of a reply.

Oil and coal are on Barry´s kill list.
Snack foods and soft drinks are on Mooch´s.

Crony Communism is stepping in to reshape the corporate landscape. Scorched Earth seems to be the strategy, and the MSM propaganda machine will happily cooperate in framing the stories such that corporate execs bear the blame.

Rather than a ´Bain-style´ killing, this has all the marks of an Alinskian assassination... separating, demonizing, and destroying, with no such thing as due process to safeguard justice.

Here´s the meat, later in the Politico story:

"In 2009, Hostess came out of bankruptcy thanks in part to private equity firm Ripplewood Holdings, which made a $130 million investment, CNBC reported Friday. Hostess filed again for bankruptcy in January, and its debt was later purchased by investment firms, including two hedge funds: Silver Point Capital and Monarch Alternative Capital, according to a CNN Money report."

In other words, one private equity firm and two funds tried to rescue this company and save Thousands, repeat, Thousands of jobs. (Note: Bain has nothing to do with this.)

Trumka the Dumbka says it´s the funds´ fault. Ya mean fresh capital to save the company should go unrewarded so that unsustainable union perks can continue?

Dumbka hates capitalism. He did not want profits. Dumbka and his ilk don´t realize that they are not redistributing the pie. Rather, they are shrinking the pie, er, twinkie.

Trumka will still collect his mob boss check every two weeks, while bragging about how his workers stood up to corporate greed. I´m sure Trumka thought it was going to be a field day for unions with Obama re-elected. Guess what Dumka,in hard times the highest paid people are going to get the axe and that means you mr. and mrs. union workers.

It wouldn´t surprise me one bit if one of the main reasons this company went under is good ole employee theft. What if union goons are in charge of inventory?

How did Amtrak lose a billion in 10 years on candy bars alone? How do postal bosses get a fat raise in the throes of them losing $16 billion?

I think someone will buy Hostess out and relocate to a non union state. I hope SC.It would be even more delicious if it was the Koch Brothers.

Why didn´t Trumka order the union members to attack the workers who crossed the picket line to work. It worked well for him at the United Mine Workers, that is until he and his union had to pay $$$ for killing a worker that crossed the picket line.

Richard Trumka should be in prison instead of drawing a salary that puts him in the 1% he claims to hate.

Union members are chumps that keep funding relics of days gone by. Only the union officials benefit from unions. They really showed Hostess, didn´t they.

Arizona’s attorney general wants to arm school principals. Tom Horne says he has found the “golden mean” between allowing all teachers to carry firearms and exposing children to tragedies like the school shooting in Connecticut. He is proposing that only the principal or one other staff member at each school be trained and then allowed to carry a firearm at school. “Some have proposed teachers bringing guns to school, but I think that would create more danger than it would solve,” Horne said. “But if we did nothing, we might regret it if another incident occurs that might have been prevented.”

The factory, which makes solar cells and panels, is suffering from a market downturn that SolarWorld blames primarily on unfair competition from China. Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”

Gluten-free diets are all the rage, but they can be dangerous if not done right. What is gluten? It´s the spongy complex of proteins, found naturally in wheat, rye, and barley, that gives elasticity to dough and allows it to rise. When flour is moistened and either kneaded or mixed into dough, gluten molecules form an elastic, microscopic latticework that traps the carbon dioxide produced when yeast ferments, causing dough to inflate like a hot air balloon. Baking hardens the gluten, which helps the finished product keep its shape. Wheat — and gluten — is ubiquitous in the American diet.

Newtown killer Adam Lanza may have launched his murder spree at Sandy Hook Elementary School as an “act of revenge,” the Daily News has learned. A close friend of Lanza’s mother told The News that the troubled boy was a target of relentless bullying when he attended the Connecticut school years ago. “I think Adam felt betrayed by the school and this was his act of revenge,” said Marvin LaFontaine, a friend of Nancy Lanza’s. “Nancy told me he was being picked on at school. That they were just torturing him.”

North Korea’s young leader Kim Jong-un is waiting for United States President Barack Obama to make a phone call to Pyongyang to discuss easing tensions on the Korean peninsula, according to Russia’s news agency Itar-Tass. The report cited United Kingdom diplomats, saying Pyongyang was demanding the U.S. president personally call Kim Jong-un as one of the conditions to relieve the current conflict at hand. Itar-Tass also quoted the U.K.’s Sky News as saying North Korea currently has eight nuclear warheads.
