Lambertville — Climate change and global warming may be affecting our public water supply. United Water New Jersey, which serves about 812,000 customers in the northern half of the state, detected a "large" algae bloom in a West Amwell Township reservoir for the first time and now plans to step up monitoring.(Snip) In an email yesterday, Nov. 15, company director of water quality and compliance Keith Cartnick wrote that "in light of changing weather patterns and global warming considerations, we have begun discussions" with a local hydrology firm "to develop an improved reservoir monitoring plan for Lambertville, and PAC (powdered activated

No, lady it´s as usual all the LIBERALS fault.

Inversions occur when the water at the surface cools enough to sink in quantity below the warmer water below. If that has happened earlier than normal, it might have brought up nutrient rich waster from below. If that happened earlier than normal such that the sunlight caused a bloom, then the real cause is global cooling. Gasp! Break out the SUVs.

You know that water is good if stuff grows in it. Climate Change? Nope, just good old green slime purifying the water. I think Japan harvests the stuff to dry and sell. Oh, what is it called? Oh, "Aonori". The seaweed version is called just "Nori" and I´m sure you´ve had it if you have ever had sushi.

Wasn´t but about 65 years ago my job at the log cabin in West Virginia where we lived up in the holler was to take the two buckets down the hill to the Spring House to fetch the drinking water. The basin I dipped into had green growing slime in it that also fed the crawdads lurking under the rocks. I have never since had water that tasted so good as that spring water.

It is ironic the sentence opens with " in light of changing conditions" since too much light causes an algae bloom. The water is too clean allowing sunlight to go all the way to the bottom of the reservoir causing excessive algae growth. --- But a knowledgeable water treatment person knows that. Why is Cartnick spouting off about climate change?

Mays Landing — A former Boy Scout leader from Absecon convicted of sexually assaulting and photographing five boys during a 16-year period was sentenced Thursday to 85 years in prison. Brian Killion, 41, was found guilty in September on 34 counts including aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child, and possession and manufacturing of child pornography. During the sentencing hearing, Atlantic County Superior Court Judge Bernard E. DeLury Jr. merged several of the charges, adding that a serious sentence was needed given that Killion molested children nearly continuously for 16 years. “It is a certainty that

As the corruption investigation of former Charlotte Mayor Patrick Cannon went back underground Thursday, a nagging question hung over his embarrassed city: Couldn’t this have been known before he was elected mayor in November? According to an affidavit released this week, the FBI became aware of possible illegal activity of then-City Council member Cannon as early as August 2010. By the time Cannon was sworn as the city’s top elected leader, undercover agents posing as real estate developers had flown him and his wife to Las Vegas and paid him almost $30,000 in bribes, prosecutors say. When Jorge Mario Bergoglio became Pope Francis a little more than a year ago, the first thing that struck those who knew him well was his unexpected, beatific smile. “In Argentina, he didn’t smile like that,” Sergio Rubin, the pope’s biographer, said this week at a conference sponsored by the Ethics and Public Policy Center. “That was the big surprise.” Since then, the pope has mostly kept on smiling — in homilies, in audiences, in meetings with the homeless and the poor. Usually the type of Republicans MSNBC hosts invite on their shows are either craven RINO types who can be depended upon to trash talk fellow Republicans, or the more inarticulate, dimmer bulbs in the party who fail to communicate conservative positions effectively. MSNBC host Chris Hayes had an entirely different type of animal on his hands with PA Americans For Prosperity Director, Jennifer Stefano. In fact, he´s probably still licking his wounds after the nasty confrontation he had with her, Wednesday night in a debate over the latest ObamaCare delay. Joe Newby at The Washington Examiner has found a real doozy of a “comedian.” Her name is Laura Levites – with obviously no connection to the priests of the Old Testament. (She´s an atheist with a fondness for Ricky Gervais.) "I would personally like to castrate every Male Conservative Christian so that they have NO reproductive rights," she wrote on Twitter, using the hashtag "#HobbyLobby." She certainly knows how to draw attention to herself. Newby said that’s not all. She also expressed her hatred of Christians in a tweet calling conservative Christians "******bags," claiming they are "really trying" her patience.
