I loved their show but was always somewhat leery of what they were cooking, especially pigeons. Jennifer smoked to the end and lived to be 70. I see nothing to take offense here. She described how she felt. Is that a crime now?

They had a great show. Witty banter and some good recipes that we are not familiar with here in the US.
The pigeons they talk about cooking are wood pigeons not the statue-pooping feathered rats that we have here in our cities.
Clarissa is not PC. A refreshing change from the usual mealy-mouthed apologists on the air.

So what will be remembered as the biggest political event of spring 2013? Naturally the death of Lady Thatcher must be the prime candidate. But there is another that has thus far consumed only a tiny proportion of the column inches that have rightly been expended on the passing of the Iron Lady yet may have more pro found and longerlasting consequences. Only one of my six children has left New York for economic reasons but the strain of living in this expensive nanny state is weighing heavy on my other five and their families. As a native New Yorker, I´ve seen its middle class population decline over the years due to its neglect of blue collar families which is ironic since this is a Democrat city. With the recent arrests of several local politicians for corruption perhaps New Yorkers will pay more attention to those they put in office. Given their past indifference in local elections this is highly unlikely.
