Ron Paul, we´ll kind of miss you
Investor´s Business Daily, by Andrew Malcolm

Original Article

We´ve always had a semi-soft spot in our political heart for Ron Paul, who´s a lame-duck member of the lame-duck Congress that´s heading to drive the country off the now-famous fiscal cliff in coming weeks. The 77-year-old Paul is a three-time loser in presidential races (once as a Libertarian and twice as a Republican). And a one-time loser in a U.S. Senate race. But over the years he’s also an 11-time winner in House races for the southeast Texas area that includes Galveston.

You know what? I won´t miss him.

Enough is enough. He´s been a very ineffective whiner the entire time he has been in the public spotlight. I don´t see that he had any significant impact on any public policy.

He might be more effective once he´s gone and his supporters can find a replacement that might be able to implement some changes. I actually have more respect for his supporters that I do for Paul.

He cost Romney the election. Ron Paul should have endorsed Romney and encouraged his supporters to vote for him. If Paul had gotten the nomination he would have needed Romney to do the same for him. But he was too self righteous to help. So long Ron, I won´t miss your pouty little hissy fits at all.

Ladies and gentlemen, I’m Joe Biden. I’m filling in for President Obama, who is abroad. I want to talk to you today about the minimum wage and the overwhelming need to raise the minimum wage. There’s no reason in the world why an American working 40 hours a week has to live in poverty. But right now a worker earning the federal minimum wage makes about $14,500 a year.

President Obama, whose poll approval numbers hover weakly around 40% among Americans, met Thursday with Pope Francis, whose approval numbers among the same people are 76%. Now, you know why the Chicago Democrat sought the meeting. The two leaders exchanged gifts. The Vicar of Christ gave the ex-state senator a copy of his book "The Joy of the Gospel." The 44th president gave the head of the world´s Roman Catholic Church a box of fruit and veggie seeds from his wife´s garden. The first meeting of the new pope and lame-duck president was closely-watched because of the Democrat's concerted efforts to bring religious

By the time Barack Hussein Obama swore the oath of office with his hand on Abraham Lincoln´s personal Bible 1,883 days ago, he´d made so many promises to the American people that keeping track of them seemed like it would be quite a challenge. Turns out, tracking the public promises that Obama kept was really quite simple. He didn´t keep them. One of Obama´s most famous sunken promises was that his would be the most transparent presidential administration in history.[Snip] Now comes the Associated Press with a report card.

To the surprise of absolutely no one outside the Obama Oval Office, those Crimeans who voted in Sunday´s trumped-up referendum opted overwhelmingly to rejoin Russia. This as thousands of Russian troops occupied the Ukrainian province, while an even larger Russian army happened to conduct ´war games´ on Ukraine´s border. Obama, the former community organizer, again telephoned President Vladimir Putin, the former KGB colonel. Obama reminded the Russian he´d broken international law. Obama warned the Russian the referendum "would never be recognized by the United States." Bet that stung.

Good morning. My name is Bill Johnson, and I’m proud to represent Eastern and Southeastern Ohio in the House of Representatives. Four years ago today, President Obama came to our state and promised our seniors that his health care law would protect their benefits. He said this: “If you like your plan, you can keep your plan. If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor. I don´t want to interfere with people’s relationships between them and their doctors." Now, the reality is, not only is the president’s health care law interfering with these relationships — it’s ending them.

Hi, everybody. In this year of action, I’m doing everything I can, with or without Congress, to expand opportunity for more Americans. This week, I ordered a review of our nation’s overtime rules, to give more Americans the chance to earn the overtime pay they’ve worked for. While those at the top are doing better than ever, average wages have barely budged. Too many Americans are working harder than ever just to keep up.

As part of his desperate political plot to distract the country with something -- anything -- other than ObamaCare´s debacle and serial scandals, Barack Obama has been talking a lot about global warming. Forget about the Nov. 4 midterms, folks. The world is burning up. A crisis not to be wasted. Obama calls it climate change before his audiences because after this endless winter of polar vortexes and record snowfalls and ice cover, the word ´warming´ draws applause or chuckles. [Snip] Now comes Gallup with a poll showing a third of Americans thinks global warming is a threat.

President Obama did it again Tuesday night. He was trying to dodge blame once more for the ineffectiveness of his leadership and administration realistically addressing the country´s genuine challenges at home and abroad. Obama told the crowd: "What´s holding us back is politics. What´s holding us back is an atmosphere in Washington that puts a premium on saying no; puts a premium on an eye towards the next election instead of delivering on behalf of the American people." Sen. Rob Portman gives the Republican Party's Weekly Remarks Hi, I’m U.S. Senator Rob Portman from Ohio, and I want to talk to you today about how to get America moving again. It’s been five years since the experts said the recession was over, but for millions of Americans, it feels like it never ended. We’re living through the weakest economic recovery since World War II, and a lot of folks are struggling to make ends meet. Unemployment remains stubbornly high; the number of long-term unemployed is actually at record levels. But these statistics only tell half the story. Eleven million Americans have become so discouraged that they’ve given up looking for work altogether.

Hi, everybody. This week, I traveled to New England, where I was joined by four governors who are working to raise the minimum wage in each of their states. And they’ve also joined me in calling on Congress to raise the minimum wage from $7.25 to $10.10 an hour. Because it would give nearly 800,000 Americans in their states a raise — and lift wages for about 28 million across the country. So these governors aren’t waiting for Congress to make up its mind. And in my State of the Union Address, I asked America’s business leaders to go ahead and do what they could to raise their employees’ wages, too.

While President Obama´s approval, credibility and trust poll numbers sink into a black sea, the polls on his wife and Secretary of State aren´t that great either. Their numbers are much better than POTUS, according to Gallup. But neither Kerry nor Mrs. Obama is as widely approved by Americans as their recent predecessors. With one exception. Go figure, eh? Kerry's highest personal favorability came years ago when he won the Iowa caucus in 2004 -- 61%. After that, it was pretty much downhill, to 52% on election day and 44% 11 months ago. Even in September during his boss' Syria red-line mess, when Kerry announced his country

As part of its plan to reduce U.S. greenhouse gas emissions, the Obama administration is targeting the dairy industry to reduce methane emissions in their operations. This comes despite falling methane emission levels across the economy since 1990. The White House has proposed cutting methane emissions from the dairy industry by 25 percent by 2020. Although U.S. agriculture only accounts for about 9 percent of the country’s greenhouse gas emissions, according to the Environmental Protection Agency, it makes up a sizeable portion of methane emissions — which is a very potent greenhouse gas. Some of these methane emissions come from

When Jorge Mario Bergoglio became Pope Francis a little more than a year ago, the first thing that struck those who knew him well was his unexpected, beatific smile. “In Argentina, he didn’t smile like that,” Sergio Rubin, the pope’s biographer, said this week at a conference sponsored by the Ethics and Public Policy Center. “That was the big surprise.” Since then, the pope has mostly kept on smiling — in homilies, in audiences, in meetings with the homeless and the poor. If you look at the pictures from Francis’ meeting with President Obama on Thursday, though, the smile is there only some of the time.

(She´s an atheist with a fondness for Ricky Gervais.) "I would personally like to castrate every Male Conservative Christian so that they have NO reproductive rights," she wrote on Twitter, using the hashtag "#HobbyLobby." She certainly knows how to draw attention to herself. Newby said that’s not all. She also expressed her hatred of Christians in a tweet calling conservative Christians "******bags," claiming they are "really trying" her patience.
