Since he claimed that renewing the Bush tax rates would "cost" $1 trillion, I take that to mean that his idea of a "modest" tax increase is $1 trillion. Apparently he is still into the choom, and some pretty potent stuff at that.

I heard this theory on the Larry Kudlow show.

If Bob Obama gets his tax increase on the wealthy, after a few months he´ll say it wasn´t enough, and now they´ll have to increase the taxes on the middle class. And once the camel´s nose is under the tent, the rest of the camel is soon to follow.

Hey, he´s already told us revenue is immaterial. The idea is to hit "the wealthy."

Period. It´s impossible for "the wealthy" to get without "taking" from the noble, deserving, oppressed poor. Or so it goes in the alternate universe of the Left.

When Obama caved on the Bush tax cuts a couple years ago,he got one hell of a backlash from his base,that´s why he´s sticking so hard to it now.Calling it the "Bush tax cut for the rich"really inflames the left and they´ll all rally around getting rid of them till the cows come home. Obama won´t accept another kind of tax increase because he specially wants to nail Bush´s.

Then the left has the gall to run around and say the rich don´t pay their fair share when every pie chart shows they pay the overwhelming portion of income taxes.

We´re always told raising cigarette taxes is to help people quit,yet 1 in 5 people in this country still smoke.

Our kids make 250,000 on a W-2. But they get lumped into the millionaires and billionaires. They are thinking life sucks. They aren´t able to hide income, or at least take advantage of tax rules. And because they are rich the homestead deduction is gone and they can´t claim their kids. When the gov´t comes for the top 10% instead of the top 2%, know that is $60,000 and up.

It´s because after a certain point you don´t need more money. Weren´t you paying attention? -- he´s already told us this.

The wealthy will ride him out.They will sell this year and figure ways to delay compensation. There will be a lot of people making 249000. The problem that he has is how to keep his breeding farms in the cities as tax revenues decline.He will print money and make our dolllar worthless.

If you need revenue, you´ll get more by moving everyone back to the Clinton tax rates. As President Obama has said, everyone should have skin in the game. And Medicare and Social Security are losing money each year, so the Payroll Tax Holiday must end. And more money will come in from the Obamacare taxes. With all those taxes, even Obama ought to be able to cut spending until there is no deficit. For 4 years Obama has claimed there is no link between taxes and economic health. Let run the experiment and find out. If the country crashes, we´ll reinstate the Bush rates permanently.
