| Fiat-Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne says he still wants the rest of Chrysler and intends to get it. Italy´s Fiat SpA acquired control of Chrysler in 2009 as part of a bailout of the bankrupt automaker brokered by the Obama administration. It now owns 58.5 percent of Chrysler. The rest is owned by a retiree health care trust run by the United Auto Workers. Marchionne has long said he wants Fiat to buy it all so that he can fully merge the two companies. But last month, Marchionne announced a new investment plan to save Fiat´s foundering European operations,

Marchionne has said his policy is rapid growth, even reckless growth through dubious acquisitions, because only a half dozen auto firms will survive. All will be international giants.
Of course that was three years ago. He may have changed course. But gobbling up the rest of Chrysler would fit his past strategy.

So much for the demonrats previous claims that taxpayers just have to ´save´ an american auto company. It was saved alright - half to a foreigner; the other half to the UAW. I would never ever buy any Chrysler product. Period.

The Navy’s cancellation of Blue Angels 2013 air shows extends past the federal fiscal year ending in September means the November 1-2 Homecoming Show at Pensacola Naval Air Station has been scrapped too. “It’s not just the fiscal year,” said Navy Lt. The report to be released Monday by the Drug Policy Alliance shows 4 out of 10 county jail inmates have been granted bail but can´t afford to post it. In a stunning end to one of the most aggressively unsuccessful tenures in retail history, JCPenney (JCP) last night announced that CEO Ron Johnson would be leaving effective immediately. Myron Ullman, Johnson´s predecessor at JCPenney, takes office as CEO. When Johnson was initially wooed by JCPenney, it was to serve as CEO with Ullman as Chairman. In January 2012, Ullman was unceremoniously removed from the board. Gone with Ullman was any control the Board of Directors had over Ron Johnson and his control of JCPenney resources.
