United Airlines (UAL) has grounded flights across the U.S. Thursday morning due to a glitch in the computer system that controls the airline´s ground operations. The problem seems to be affecting passengers across the country, from New York´s LaGuardia to San Francisco. The airline is telling passengers to rebook on other airlines. “We´re aware of a computer issue affecting some of our flights,” United said on its official Twitter account. “We´re working to resolve it. We´ll update as we have more details.” The airline has been plagued by a number of computer outages since its merger with Continental.

Wow. So in other words, UAL is telling customers, "If the phone doesn´t ring, it´s me."

Sweet marketing strategy there, UAL. /s off/

10 Possible Hillary 2016 Challengers

With Hillary Clinton already locking up massive amounts of cash for a presumptive 2016 presidential run, members of the hard left may be looking for an alternative. Many Democrats remain uninspired by Clinton’s progressive record – her most leftist period came during her early days as First Lady, and resulted in part in a 1994 Republican Congressional landslide – and have urged other candidates to jump into the race to provide a boost for a further-left agenda. Polls show Clinton defeating all comers in potential primary matchups. But polls also show that her appeal stems largely from her status as

XI’AN, China — Michelle Obama stopped down for five hours for a purely touristic visit, giving her and her family a view of China’s ancient history. The city is the terminus of the legendary Silk Road, a series of trade routes that linked the East and West throughout history, and is also home to the Terra Cotta Army. The massive clay sculptures were discovered in the spring of 1974 in the eastern suburbs of the city by farmers digging a well near the grave of China’s first emperor, Qinshihuang. Obama was led through the archeological site by Cao Wei, director

FORT WORTH, TEXAS—Last week conservative candidate Konni Burton kicked off her run-off campaign to clinch the Republican nomination for Senate District 10. It was standing-room-only at Stockyard Station´s Stampede Room, with friends, family, the grassroots, and Senator Ted Cruz by her side. Breitbart Texas previously reported that Burton is the favored conservative in the Senate District that includes Fort Worth, Arlington, Mansfield, Colleyville and other areas of south and northeast Tarrant County. Tarrant County is one of the few urban conservative strongholds in the nation and it is the district currently represented by liberal state senator Wendy Davis (D-Fort Worth).

The U.S. and its allies announced Monday that they would, for now, exclude Russia from the G8 and boycott a planned summit in Sochi in retaliation over its Crimea takeover -- though Russia´s government shrugged off the latest efforts to isolate the country. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, on the sidelines of a nuclear security summit at The Hague, reportedly said it would not be a "big problem" if the G8 does not convene. "If our western partners believe the format has exhausted itself, we don´t cling to this format," he said, according to Reuters. He spoke as all members

Afghan President Hamid Karzai, already at odds with the U.S. over a vital security pact, snubbed western leaders once again by joining the likes of Syria and Venezuela in backing Russia´s annexation of Crimea. Karzai´s office released a statement over the weekend saying Afghanistan "respects the free will of the people of Crimea to decide about their own future." The statement said "we respect the decision the people of Crimea took through a recent referendum that considers Crimea as part of the Russian Federation." Karzai weighed in on the Ukraine crisis shortly before President Obama flew overseas for meetings with European

A list of those reported missing following a landslide in rural Washington state includes 108 names, emergency officials said Monday. But that doesn´t mean all of them were killed in Saturday´s disaster north of Seattle, Snohomish County Emergency Management Director John Pennington said. The official death toll remains at eight with seven others hurt, he said. Until Monday, the number of people unaccounted for was reported to be 18. The landslide covered about a square mile and was caused by groundwater saturation tied to heavy rain in the area over the past month. It affected the towns of Oso, a remote

The cats are just some of the goofy GIFs the White House has posted, according to the Florida Times-Union, which said the White House is trying to catch the latest retro Internet craze. As Democrats around the country continue to tout their "fix it, don´t end it" mentality about how to deal with the ongoing disaster of Obamacare, they seem to be forgetting who´s paying for the promotion of President Obama´s signature achievement: taxpayers. So far, the Obama administration has wracked up a tremendous bill in promotional and advertising costs for Obamacare. The results? WASHINGTON — Mitt Romney said Sunday that President Barack Obama is naive when it comes to Russia, has shown "faulty judgment" about Moscow´s intentions and could have done more to try to deter its annexation of Crimea. The 2012 Republican presidential nominee said Obama didn´t have the foresight to anticipate Russia´s moves and should have been working earlier with allies to make clear the penalties that Russia would face if it moved into Ukraine. Romney did acknowledge that such steps may not have been enough though to hold back Russia President Vladimir Putin. "Had we communicated those things, there´s always

A few weeks ago, I wrote about how the sweeping acceptance of gay marriage in recent years is owed in large part to Christianity. Rejecting the rigidly hierarchical and stratified societies of the ancient world, Jesus Christ taught the equal dignity of all persons, proclaimed that the meek shall inherit the earth, and declared that the last shall be first and the first shall be last. The Western world has been working out the logic of these subversive teachings ever since, with the institutional transformation of marriage being the latest, though surely not the last, example of its social, moral,

That goes beyond hypocritical, and I think the American media and the international media has every right to call her and the Obama administration on that — that they permitted that to happen,” said Tom Whalen, a political history professor at Boston University. “It makes you shake your head, albeit sadly.” The first lady stopped at Peking University in Beijing yesterday

While the country remains divided over whether he acted like a traitor or a statesman, all would have to agree

In a constituent meeting gone awry that was captured on shaky, amateur video, embattled Rep. You don´t have any damn facts!” Ellmers exploded at one of the activists when he said that employers – who often claim a labor shortage to argue for amnesty – frequently don´t post job openings in that region.
