Just in case the unaffordable price tag and rising costs don´t quite do the trick, America´s spiraling dearth of doctors will contribute heavily to the collapse of our re-engineered health care system, according to a new study: The United States will require at least 52,000 more family doctors in the year 2025 to keep up with the growing and increasingly older U.S. population, a new study found. The predictions also reflect the passage of the Affordable Care Act -- a change that will expand health insurance coverage to an additional 38 million Americans.
Comments: Just when I think I have accepted our devasting loss in the election and feel somewhat better I remember 0bamacare and get terrified and depressed all over again. The injustice of allowing it to continue is just outrageous.
Nothing is going to "crash" Obamacare. What will happen is everyone´s access to doctor´s and services will deteriorate into a English / Canadian model where people wait months and even years for the care needed.
We´ll all be told that´s the "price we pay" to make sure everyone is covered.
DOes the Obamacare plan regulate costs at all? I don´t think so. I am already seeing doctors who don´t accept insurance- we pay and then we file claims and get most of the money back but not all. It is the only way we can see some competent specialist. I think more and more doctors will go to this way of doing business.
Oh and my state refused to set up the insurance exchange and refused to increase medicaid.
There was a reason Obama took over the student loans from the banks. A massive government program to provide assistance to students for education in the medical field occupations. The qualifications will be race and income based. Affirmative action gone wild will be the law of the land in every facet of the American society. We already have a dumbed down society. All Obama has to do now is staff it.
Easy solution: Make passing the license test easier. Import Russian, Pakistani, Indian, Arab doctors. Cover up the increasing doctor caused death rate. Everybody learn to understand garbled mispronounced English. Learn to pray and pray you don´t become a premature statistic.
".........When the government exacerbates problems, many frustrated observers reflexively call for even more federal intervention to mop up the federally-caused mess. The solution to big government run amok is more government involvement, apparently."
This is the mind of Obama voters, government creates a problem and they want government to fix the problem. Never occurs to them that government is the problem.
Please, please, please. Stop referring to this national travesty as "Obamacare". President Obama is NOT running again. This needs to be referred to as "Democrat Care that is forced upon you without a single Republican vote". This albatross needs to be hung around the Democratic Party and not Obama when it is fully implemented. People will begin to lose their livelihood because of this and need to place their anger at the right people, the Democratic Party. I will continue to post this. Please pass it on, we ALL must start doing this now.
My doc complied with ObieCare last year... I haven´t seen him since. I only see a Nurse Practitioner. They tried to force him to make "house calls" on medicaid patients but his hospital rounds were too heavy.
Meanwhile, I keep getting threateniung mail & phone recordings to get my preventative tests done or else ???
This doctor and nurse shortage will be covered in Obamacare and comprehensive immigration reform. They are going to import huge numbers of foreign doctors and nurses, from places like India, Pakistan, and other third world countries, to work here and to insure that in a transformed America that doctors and nurses salaries are seriously reduced.
What the country will end up with is a two tiered medical care delivery system, a public single payer one for the common population, and an elite private one for the rich and famous and anyone else who can pay their own medical bills.
The medical care delivery system in the USA is being wrecked so that the 15% who do not have medical care insurance can get it mostly through huge public subsidies, while the remaining 85% who always have had medical care insurance are going to have to pay the bill for all this.
Keep you eye on the shell. The push for special VISAs has already started along with immigration reform. Expect a flood of foreign doctors and nurses. This area has a ton of Haitian nurses and foreign docs that can´t even comprehen written English. Many of them hate us. My last phlebotomist was not only pregnant but high. No one working in the lab was white. Welcome to Zippycare.
CHARLOTTE, N.C — Timing was of the essence for President Obama to achieve the things he wanted to accomplish as president. In basketball terms, a sport Obama thoroughly enjoys, the administration attempted an alley oop that “alleyed” too soon, only to become nothing more than the “oop.” It wasn’t supposed to work this way. The bulk of the Obamacare rollout was scheduled to arrive after the 2012 election. That way the debacle we are now witnessing could be delayed until the president was re-elected. Timing. Nothing more. Unfortunately for the president there was a miscalculation along the way. Something called the 2014
The Obamas shut down R Street at Florida Avenue NW in D.C. last night for a four-and-a-half-hour celebration of senior adviser Valerie Jarrett’s birthday. Jarrett turned 57 on Thursday. The motorcade rolled from the White House to Dupont Circle just before 7 p.m. on Friday, with President Obama and Michelle Obama getting out at Restaurant Nora. The restaurant, in an otherwise residential neighborhood, is the country’s first certified organic eatery and uses ecofriendly and biodegradable cleansers and decorations. Michelle Obama celebrated her birthday here in 2010. The White House press pool was socked away at a nearby Italian restaurant for the first half of
OCALA, Fla. — Fewer things are more rewarding than devotion to something larger than oneself. Certain people choose to become parents. Politically incorrect as this might be to admit, parenthood — or at least wanting to have children — is often rooted in the desire for immortality. It is easy to see the promise in watching one’s descendants grow as old age approaches. Others opt for a lifetime of activism. They believe that through their professional efforts, which have deeply personal underpinnings, a better, more satisfying world can be built. This too is anchored in a vague, if not subconscious,
Saturday Night Live aired a mock prescription drug ad for Paxil, a pill that could help President Obama out of his second term depression. "With Paxil you´ll feel like you´re giving a speech at a college campus in 2008, or getting Bin Laden all over again," the ad says while featuring a down-in-the-dumps Obama in his second term. The ad promises the drug will remedy problems like Benghazi, the NSA scandal, the IRS scandal, the AP scandal, and the Petraeus scandal, plus Obamacare website ills. "Warning, Paxil is not covered by Obamacare," the ad ends. "We promised that it would
Secretary of State John Kerry told a climate change conference in Poland Monday that global warming is the biggest challenge to the world. “Fulfilling our responsibility to the future inhabitants of our planet is an ambitious goal, yes, but there isn´t a more important one out there right now,” he said in a video shown at the conference. Kerry also urged immediate action by world leaders to curb emissions. Climate change, he said, “is happening now.”
Obamacare is a "rollout problem," Rep. James Clyburn (D-S.C.) told CNN´s "State of the Union With Candy Crowley" on Sunday. "The fact of the matter is, this is a rollout problem, this is not a values problem. And I think that if we were to look at what we´re attempting to do with the Affordable Health Care Act, you will know that what we´re trying to do is change a values system in our country." Clyburn didn´t elaborate on the nation´s "values system." Instead, he talked about policy cancellations, which are nothing new to him: "I´ve been hearing from constituents for the entire
Meet the Press host David Gregory played for House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi her now-infamous statement on the Affordable Care Act that “We have to pass the bill to find out what’s in it,” and asked if the alleged hurry to pass health care reform in 2009-2010 had led to the current quagmire over its rollout. “Isn’t that really the problem, as you look back on it?” Gregory said. “That there was such a rush to get this done—no Republicans voting for it—and now there are unintended effects of this that were foreseen at the time, that you couldn’t know
On Fox News Sunday, legendary journalist Bob Woodward downplayed the analogies being tossed around comparing the troubled Affordable Care Act rollout to presidential scandals, but also argued that the rollout of the Affordable Care Act was likely to get worse before it got better. “What this is, it’s a mess, clearly, but what it isn’t, and I think you have to look at the question of motive,” Woodward said. “And the president’s motive here, even though there were deep problems with the implementation, he wants to do something good for 30 million people and get them health insurance. So this isn’t
The Times Of Israel is reporting that a team of negotiators led by White House adviser Valerie Jarrett has been conducting secret talks with Iran about it´s nuclear weapons program for the past year. The report states the deal submitted in Geneva earlier this month was a direct result of these secret year-long negotiations between teams headed by Jarrett and Iran´s Ali Akbar Salehi. That deal was ultimately rejected when France and Israel raised strong objections, and talks are expected to resume this Wednesday. The White House was very quick to issue a categorical denial of the report. According to
Under Obamacare -- as it is being implemented under a regulation issued by the White House Office of Personnel Management (OPM) -- a middle-aged member of Congress who earns an annual salary of $174,000 from the taxpayers, and who has a wife and children, will get a $10,000 subsidy from the taxpayers (over and above his $174,000 salary) to buy a health insurance plan that a regular citizen making almost $80,000 less than the congressman will not get. The Affordable Care Act (ACA), popularly known as Obamacare, included language mandating that members of Congress and their staff buy their now-mandated health
Calling 3-D plastic guns an “extremely serious problem,” Attorney General Eric Holder called on Congress to renew a law that requires all firearms to be subject to metal detection. The Undetectable Firearms Act, a law first enacted in 1988 and then reauthorized in 2003, makes it illegal to “manufacture, import, sell, ship, deliver, possess, transfer or receive” any firearm that’s undetectable by scanners. But the law is set to expire Dec. 9, unless Congress again reauthorizes it. Holder said the new technology of printing 3-D guns made of plastic means guns could potentially be smuggled onto planes, into federal buildings or
Republican Congressman Fred Upton pushed the bill that passed the House on Friday to let Americans keep their health care plans if they like them, but Rush Limbaugh argued against it, saying it was essentially throwing a lifeline to Democrats and President Obama. Upton responded on Hugh Hewitt‘s show, saying Limbaugh didn’t have the right information about the bill. Upton said, “It would have been nice if he had checked in with us and gotten some information.” He argued that this was an important step to help the millions of people losing their insurance in the real world so they don’t
Oprah Winfrey has said racism is still a problem around the world and the only way for it to end is for generations of racists to die out. In an interview with the BBC to coincide with the release of her latest film The Butler, the chat show host said generations had been ´marinated´ in racism. The 59-year-old added that President Obama was treated with disrespect because of the color of his skin and said she feels fortunate to have been born after segregation ended in the U.S. [Snip] She highlighted an incident in 2009 when Republican congressman Joe Wilson
Pollster John Zogby reports in our weekly White House report card that President Obama’s health care program is still troubled, but he gets credit for taking ownership and trying to fix it. "Forget about Iran and unemployment, this week was all about Obamacare and it was a ‘Fiddler on the Roof’ moment. As Tevye would say: ´Un da vun hand, but un da udda hand…´ “So we have the president admitting he broke his promise to Americans when he promised they could keep their plans. And the GOP gloated, mocked, preached doom and a failed presidency, and made a solemn vow to
Last week I was informed by the agent who handles my firm’s health-care insurance that, come 2014, our group plan will be cancelled and replaced with an ObamaCare plan.SNIP Well, here’s how I see it. It sure looks to me as if the President of the United States, members of his administration, and Democratic Congressional leaders didn’t just lie. I think they intentionally perverted the truth. And I think they did it because, if they didn’t, they knew the bill wouldn’t pass through Congress.
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Some 50 years after John F. Kennedy´s sole presidential term was cut short by an assassin´s bullets, nearly three-quarters of Americans believe Kennedy will go down in history as an outstanding or above-average president. This is the highest retrospective rating given to any of the 11 presidents who have held office since Dwight Eisenhower. Another fifth of the public sees the slain president as average, while just 3% rank him as below average or poor. Kennedy was killed on Nov. 22, 1963, and the 50-year anniversary of his assassination is being marked by a bevy of new
Congressional Republicans have Obamacare right where they want it. The idea of a one-year delay of the law, always far-fetched as long as the Democrats controlled the Senate, is suddenly looking plausible. “I think there needs to be a one-year suspension of the entire law, at least, if not a longer suspension,” says Georgia Republican Tom Price. “The Senate Democrats and the president are the ones that have to decide it needs to be done.” When asked about a delay, House Republican whip Kevin McCarthy chuckles but doesn’t answer. Instead, he suggests that the law’s destructiveness could upend the entire health
Second-term presidents in the past 30 years have had some pretty embarrassing news conferences, full of frank admissions of failure, submissive spasms of shame and groveling, grieving apologies. Bill Clinton had to admit that he actually did have sex with that woman, Miss Lewinsky; George W. Bush finally thought of something he might have done wrong; his dad had to explain all those new taxes after his unequivocal pledge; and even Ronald Reagan ate crow over the Iran-Contra affair. But there has never, ever, been a more pitiful presser than the one conducted last week by President Obama.
U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan told a group of state schools superintendents Friday that he found it “fascinating” that some of the opposition to the Common Core State Standards has come from “white suburban moms who — all of a sudden — their child isn’t as brilliant as they thought they were and their school isn’t quite as good as they thought they were.” Yes, he really said that. But he has said similar things before. What, exactly, is he talking about? In his cheerleading for the controversial Common Core State Standards — which were approved by 45 states and the
The headline is a statement to, not a quote from Boehner, but it was worth the deception to make the point. President Obama has been given so much slack by an enabling Washington D.C. media, that Obama is now hanging onto the rope to avoid falling into the abyss. The fawning media who placed all their political bets on his success, is unwilling to admit publicly (and perhaps even privately) what they know in their brains but unwilling to let their heart in on: Obama is and always was a phony.
Mary Cheney, a daughter of the former vice president, and her wife, Heather Poe, sharply criticized on Sunday a comment by by Ms. Cheney’s sister, Liz Cheney, a candidate for the Senate in Wyoming, that they disagreed on the issue of same-sex marriage. “Liz – this isn’t just an issue on which we disagree, you’re just wrong – and on the wrong side of history,” Mary Cheney, who is gay, wrote on her Facebook page. Ms. Poe’s comments were sharper and more personal. “Liz has been a guest in our home, has spent time and shared holidays with our children, and when
As the story of the Obamacare website fiacso unfolds, senior administration aides tell me that the president is “mad, frustrated and angry.” Mad that his signature legislative achievement is stuck at the gate, frustrated that he’s running out of time to fix it, and angry that he’s got a second term agenda now going nowhere. He’s so furious, in fact, that he stepped out of character to vent to an assembled group of top aides. “If I had known [about the website problems] ,” the steaming president reportedly said, according to the New York Times, “We could have delayed the
WASHINGTON - A terrifying new ‘game’ that’s already caused deaths in Syracuse, St. Louis and New Jersey is sweeping the nation, and it preys upon unsuspecting people walking the streets, anywhere. A recent report from New York-based CBS 2 shed light on the growing trend, displaying unsettling footage of teens participating in this game – which goes by the name ‘Knockout’ – and involves randomly targeting passersby, with the ultimate goal being to knock them out with one punch as they walk by. One victim shown in the footage was 46-year-old Ralph Santiago of Hoboken, N.J., who was found dead with his
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has entered the final, mortifying stage of denial where one flails feebly about in the desperate search for an argument that might generate some traction. The spectacular collapse of Democratic standing in public opinion polls has prompted Democrats to voluntarily chip away at the very financial foundation of the Affordable Care Act – a prospect that any pundit would have deemed unthinkable just three weeks ago. Democrats are terrified, but Pelosi, an old pro, never wants to let them see her sweat. To that end, during a press conference with her fellow Democratic leaders
