Actually, yes, Susan Rice

Washington Examiner, by Sean Higgins

Over at Slate, Dave Weigel has a post up mocking Arizona Senator John McCain’s threat to filibuster Ambassador Susan Rice. In the course of the post Weigel writes the following: “We have a process for nominations, and we want to give her a full hearing,” said Sen. Marco Rubio yesterday when asked about Rice. “I’m concerned with the fact she went on Sunday shows and said this was the product of a spontaneous uprising and not a terrorist attack. Obviously she based those comments on directives or information that she had,

Straight out of The Won´s mouth:

But let me say specifically about Susan Rice, she has done exemplary work. She has represented the United States and our interests in the United Nations with skill and professionalism and toughness and grace. As I’ve said before, she made an appearance at the request of the White House in which she gave her best understanding of the intelligence that had been provided to her. If Senator McCain and Senator Graham and others want to go after somebody, they should go after me. And I’m happy to have that discussion with them. But for them to go after the U.N. ambassador, who had nothing to do with Benghazi and was simply making a presentation based on intelligence that she had received and to besmirch her reputation is outrageous.

Besmirch: to stain, sully, soil

Ironic, isn´t it.

Susan was the perfect choice to appear on five talk shows at the request of the WH. She had no knowledge and no responsibility.

Would Rice´s "exemplary service" include urging The Foolish One to go to war in Libya? Susan was one of the 3 harpies, Clinton and Samantha Powers the other two, who thought it wise to have al-Qaeda linked terror groups overthrow Qaddafi.

As to Obama challenging the elderly McCain to a fight, John, with one arm incapacitated and the other tied behind his back, would easily thrash him. Kelly Ayotte, the female senator from NH, would do the same. Lindsey Graham would be exhausted from chasing Obama down in order to have him stand and fight John or Kelly. "Your choice, Mr President. Or me, once I catch my breath."

Obama says McCain should attack him rather than Susan Rice.

Fine, Mr. President, how about a press conference with real questions and real answers? Until then, McCain will have to be satisfied with attacking the girls you hide behind.

The Obama team quietly gives up
on making ObamaCare work
New York Post, by Mark Cunningham    Original Article

It turns out the Obama team has delayed the individual mandate to buy health insurance — though the announcement was quiet and roundabout, to minimize the embarrassment. What we’re left with is a US health-care system whose engine has been partly disassembled — and a mechanic who doesn’t know how to make his plan for rebuilding it actually work, even as he insists we’re already better off. The Wall Street Journal editorial page broke the news Wednesday: In a technical bulletin, the Health and Human Services Department carved out new exemptions from the mandate. “In a word,” the Journal writes,

Last year, Susan Patton, a Princeton grad and the mother of two sons at the elite college, outraged feminists when she wrote an open letter to the Daily Princetonian telling female students to find a husband on campus before they graduate. The red alert — which argued that these Ivy League college girls “would never again be surrounded by this concentration of men who would be worthy of you” — went viral with more than 100 million hits. Now Patton, an independent HR consultant who lives on Manhattan’s Upper East Side and who’s been dubbed “Princeton Mom,” has capitalized on her fame

The White House insists it doesn’t know how many people are fully enrolled in Obamacare, but insurers say they’ve handed over enough data to show that the sign-up numbers are not as rosy as federal officials say. The latest administration figures show that 4.2 million people have selected health plans in the new insurance markets. Insurance industry officials at four of the big national health plans tell POLITICO that about 15 to 20 percent of people who have signed up have not yet paid their first monthly premium — the final step to get coverage.

Business groups and congressional Republicans are blasting regulations President Obama will announce Thursday that could extend overtime pay to as many as 10 million workers who are now ineligible for it. While liberals lauded the plan as putting more cash in the pockets of millions of workers, business groups warned it would damage the economy and Republicans said it was another example of executive overreach. Trade associations already battling the White House over a proposal to raise the minimum wage to $10.10 per hour said they were blindsided by the announcement. “This came as a shot out of the blue,” said David

A year ago, Chris Christie would have had to buy a ticket to CPAC. You´d think he might be even less popular this year, coming off the bruising battle over the George Washington Bridge scandal. But the New Jersey governor got an invite from the premiere conservative conference in Washington--by definition a crowd that is somewhat cool to him, and used it to smack the media and what he called a "dysfunctional" Congress. It´s hardly a shocker that after being pounded by the press for a couple of months, Christie is no fan of a journalistic establishment that once doted on him. "We have

SEPANG, Malaysia — After four days of reticence and evasive answers, the Malaysian military acknowledged on Wednesday that it had recorded, but initially ignored, radar signals that could have prompted a mission to intercept and track a missing jetliner — data that vastly expands the area where the plane might have traveled. Radar signals from the location where the missing aircraft, Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, was last contacted by ground controllers suggested that the plane may have turned away from its northeastward course toward Beijing, officials said. Military radar then detected an unidentified aircraft at several points, apparently headed west across

There are no silver linings to Mayor de Blasio’s ham-fisted attacks on charter schools, but his strange behavior is providing clarity in several key ways. First, the attacks illustrate how important charters have become. What started as an experiment with a few schools has grown into a genuine movement, one that is thrusting New York into the forefront of educational reform. The actual size of the charter footprint is small — only 70,000 students out of more than 1 million in the city. But the stakes couldn’t be higher, because if charters can make it here, they can make it

He forgot to mention it. Minor oversight, could have happened to anybody. The mandate, remember, has already been suspended this year for people who had their old insurance canceled and who now regard it as a “hardship” to purchase insurance on the supposedly affordable Affordable Care Act exchanges. For them, as Ezra Klein put it at the time, “ObamaCare itself is the hardship.” But there’s an obvious problem with that scheme: The “hardship” exemption applies only to people who used to have insurance, and it applies only for this enrollment period. The mandate penalty would continue to bite people who didn’t

President Obama’s signature legislative achievement, the Affordable Care Act, has been off to what can be described, at best, as a rocky start. Thanks to a terribly designed website, far from the Amazon.com-like experience promised by the administration, the first day of open enrollment saw a grand total of six people enroll. By day two, that number had jumped exponentially to an “astounding” 248. Glitches, crashes, problems with the payment system, less than stellar enrollment by millennials and all sorts of other tech failures have led to the administration paring down its estimate of 7 million enrollees by the end of

This was the precisely the experience Connecticut resident, Navy veteran and former firefighter John Cinque had after commenting on his state’s 2013 violation of the Second Amendment. The law in question criminalizes the sale of magazines holding more than 10 rounds and also certain semi-automatic rifles, and mandates that all grandfathered weapons and magazines must be registered with the state.
