| No big deal. We’re just quickly becoming a Third World country that can’t even handle elections. LAUDERHILL, Fla. (WSVN) — Nearly a thousand ballots that were not included in Florida’s final count have been found in a warehouse in Broward County. Tuesday morning and into the night, there was a buzz of activity at the Voting Equipment Center in Lauderhill, a week after the general election. There was a recount going on for two commission seats that were too close to call, one in Hallandale Beach and another in Dania Beach. Workers had to count those votes manually.

We also had an election day mess over in the next large county with large minority voters. Everything was run by minorities, even chairman of the election board. Romney was expected to win and did, but by a much smaller margin than expected. They are still counting and a few local offices with Dem and Repub candidates are up for grabs. If we don´t fix this election day fraud, there is no reason to vote next time. I feel deeply that Romney was cheated out of being the president!

It doesn´t have to be like this, and if there was a will to make the system accurate, it would be.
Clean up the voter rolls, count the votes accurately ... this is absolutely essential to a legitimate system, and it can be done. I don´t see it as a nation-wide conspiracy, because that would be too complicated, but our rapidly declining moral standards and values will do us in. Greed!!!

Still a bunch of ballots --- absentee and provisional mainly --- to be counted in California. For example, here´s the Unprocessed Ballot Report this morning from the California Secretary of State. Note for example, still 500,000+ ballots not processed yet in Los Angeles County and over a 100K in several other counties. They have identified the close races, which I guess await the counting of these last votes.

Federal education officials today slammed the door shut on UMass Dartmouth´s appeal to release academic and financial records of alleged Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, according to a letter received by the Herald. "From the limited information you provided, it appears that the academic and financial records that have been requested would be protected by FERPA, and that the University may not release them without the consent of the student," wrote Dale King, director of the Family Policy Compliance Office for the U.S. Department of Education. WORCESTER — Police and officials at the funeral home where Boston Marathon bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev’s body is being held say that a plan has fallen apart to bury Tsarnaev at a state prison. According to two officials at the Graham Putnam Mahoney Funeral Parlors with knowledge of the plan, the plan was hatched on Monday, and police from the city where the prison is located met with funeral home officials Tuesday. The plan, which called for moving the body to the prison during the early morning hours, fell apart sometime Tuesday, the officials said.

When it first became clear that the CIA’s Benghazi talking points had been altered, many of us viewed the White House as the prime suspect. After all, it served President Obama’s political purposes to claim, at the height of a political campaign in which he was taking credit for the fall of al Qaeda, that the death of a U.S. ambassador was down to spontaneous outrage over a video, rather than pre-planned terrorism. It turns out, however, that the State Department was the prime culprit. It was State that pushed back hard against the original talking points.

The Seattle Police Department collected more than 700 guns during a buyback in January, and now city officials have a plan for what to do with them. Former Gov. Mark Sanford completed the trail to political redemption Tuesday with a win over Democrat Elizabeth Colbert Busch to reclaim his old seat in Congress. Sanford defeated Colbert Busch 54 percent to 45 percent, according to full unofficial results. British physicist Stephen Hawking has dropped plans to attend a major international conference in Israel in June, citing his belief that he should respect a Palestinian call to boycott contacts with Israeli academics. The University of Cambridge released a statement Wednesday indicating that Hawking had told the Israelis last week that he would not be attending "based on advice from Palestinian academics that he should respect the boycott."
