Obama: I Made Susan Rice
Talk to the American People
About Benghazi

Weekly Standard, by Daniel Halper

Original Article

President Barack Obama revealed at his press conference this afternoon that he is responsible for sending U.N. ambassador Susan Rice to speak to the American people a few days after the September 11 Benghazi terror attack. "As I said before, she made an appearance at the request of the White House in which she gave her best understanding of the intelligence that had been provided to her," Obama said at the press conference, defending the statements the ambassador to the U.N. made regarding the Benghazi attack. Rice has been widely criticized for giving misleading statements about Benghazi.

So is he admitting that he misled us?

So... the White House (Obama) "requested" Ambassador Rice to appear and give "her understanding of the intelligence" that had been provided to her.

This is going to be like pulling teeth.

What was the name of the person who provided the intelligence that had been provided her?

Nice job on the press in not asking that question of the evader in chief.

Meanwhile, four dead in Benghazi.

As we saw and heard in the debate, Obama told the nation (and Candy Crowley backed him up) on 12 Sept in the Rose Garden that it was terrorism. So a few days later Rice goes out with direction from Kenya Boy to lie to the American public that it was the video.

One or the other is a lie.

Probably both. What ever lie suits his fancy on that day.

But lie it is.

Everybody knows that it was the White House that sent Susan Rice out to the Sunday news shows to tell a tale that was given to her by the White House. Susan Rice is the UN Ambassador, and has nothing to do with the US Consulate in Benghazi, that was Hillary Clinton´s responsibility, or any CIA presence there that came under General Petraeus.

Susan Rice was just saying what the White House told her to say without any background knowledge. President Obama challenged the Republicans in Congress to come after him, now watch how quick those wimpy Republicans back down.

Why was our intelligence community caught so flat-footed about Putin’s intentions in Ukraine? That’s a question being asked on Capitol Hill, and in Politico. One possible answer to the query is, “No, it wasn’t.” That one was given by James Clapper, Director of National Intelligence, and CIA spokesman Todd Ebitz, who both made statements to the effect that the US intelligence community “included warnings of possible scenarios for a Russian military intervention in Ukraine.” James Clapper has more than a bit of a general credibility problem regarding statements to the American public about intelligence, however. Where Lois Lerner goes, drama follows. On Wednesday, the former IRS officer again invoked the Fifth before the House Oversight Committee. That precipitated a heated exchange between the committee’s Republican chairman, Darrell Issa, and Democratic ranking member Elijah Cummings, who called the hearings “un-American.” And that spat has become the story.
