Could this be the beginning
of a new war in Gaza?

Telegraph [UK], by Jake Wallis Simons

Now that Ahmed Jabari, the head of Hamas´ military wing in Gaza, has been killed by Israel, it is only a matter of time before attacks begin of a different sort. Last weekend saw an intense wave of rocket attacks from Gaza, which wounded several Israelis and caused extensive damage to property despite the Iron Dome defence system and a network of bomb shelters. This raised the spectre of vulnerability in Israel, as the public begins to feel that the level of deterrence achieved by Operation Cast Lead in 2009 has been steadily eroded. Bibi Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister

New activity in old war. Not a new one.

The war is to eradicate Israel. Six decades long. The Arabs agree. Most Muslims agree. They disagree about methods and priorities but not about the goal.

And they disagree about whether every Jew should then be slaughtered or merely enslaved. Maybe castrated. Details like that.

Seems that the world stays quiet as the rockets rain down on Israel. However, as soon as the Israelies hit back, bloody murder is declared and "the gates of hell" are opened! Israel is going to be left with no choice but all out survival war and this country will not have Israel´s back! We will all pay dearly for this injustice!

Of course there will be war. Obama and his academic experts do not understand how the world works and have done all within their power to encourage aggressors everywhere. We are just starting to see the beginnings of their naive approach to international relations. Lots of people are going to get hurt before it is all over.

The economic costs of ´global warming´ have been grossly overestimated, a leaked report--shortly to be published by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)--has admitted. [Snip] This admission by the IPCC will come as a huge blow to those alarmists--notably the Stern Review´s author but also including everyone from the Prince of Wales to Al Gore--who argue that costly intervention now is our only hope if we are to stave off the potentially disastrous effects of climate change. Sir Nicholas (now Lord) Stern was commissioned by Tony Blair´s Labour government to analyse the economic impacts of climate

Kremlinology is the famously impossible art of trying to gaze inside the minds of Russia´s leaders, whose actions were described by Winston Churchill as "a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma". Like the proverbial Russian doll, Moscow can present an endless number of outer faces to the wider world, and few ever reach the one that tells the inner truth. [Snip] Yet for those trying to work out why he has chosen to invade Crimea--and where he might go next--there is, these days, the chance to do some reasonably educated guesswork. All one needs to do is to check out his favourite authors, as did PHD student Maria Snegovaya in this

Britain has a "duty" to embrace fracking in the wake of the Ukraine crisis, David Cameron has said, as he accused opponents of shale gas exploration of not "understanding" the issue properly. The Prime Minister said that Vladimir Putin´s annexation of Crimea should be a "wake up call" and that European countries must become less reliant on Russian gas. There is growing concern that European leaders are unable to put sufficient pressure on Mr Putin over the crisis in Ukraine because they are so dependent on Russia for energy supplies. Asked whether it is now "our duty to ensure that we are

Holland’s Queen Maxima proved to be a distraction for David Cameron, Barack Obama and Francois Hollande at the Nuclear Security Summit in The Hague. The 40-year-old appeared to court more attention than her husband King Willem-Alexander last night at the Royal Palace Huis ten Bosch. The monarchs greeted their international guests before the official dinner. As Britain´s Prime Minster David Cameron shook the King´s hand he was making eye contact with the blonde-haired queen. Similarly French President Francois Hollande directed his gaze at the mother-of-three as he greeted her husband. US President Obama appeared to share a

If you still need to buy health insurance, the clock is ticking. Most residents shouldn´t worry about Obamacare´s March 31 deadline because they´re already insured, many of them through their employer, or by Medicare or Medicaid, but those who aren´t could face a fine for failing to enroll in a plan by Monday. This penalty, officially called the "individual shared responsibility payment," is $95 per adult and $47.50 per child, or 1 percent of your household´s annual income. Many consumers don´t realize that the penalty they will owe is whichever of those two amounts is greater, said Colin Smoak, an

Landscapes by JMW Turner are some of the most beautiful and instantly recognisable works by a British artist. And now scientists have found that famous paintings of sunsets can help them study previous levels of pollution in the Earth’s atmosphere. Turner’s work in particular reveals that in the early 19th century, ash and gas released during a major volcanic eruption lingered in the sky and made sunsets appear redder. According to a study published in the journal Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics, painters in Europe could see the colours of the sky changing after the Tambora volcano in Indonesia erupted in 1815.

A pair of potentially catastrophic cases will be argued before the Supreme Court on Tuesday. These cases are brought by privately held, for-profit corporations that are arguing their religious convictions should preclude them from offering employees the health insurance required by law. Specifically, these private employers don’t want to allow their employees’ insurance to cover some forms of birth control because, contrary to medicaland scientific evidence, they believe some birth control causes abortions. Corporations are not people. Corporations cannot have religious views. If religious rights are extended to corporations, it puts us on a slippery slope where any private company
