Jeb Bush Favored Over Marco Rubio
for President, According to Poll

Broward Palm Beach New Times, by Chris Joseph

Original Article

Posted By:jackson, 11/13/2012 3:25:44 PM

The election was literally six days ago (well, OK, two days ago if you count Florida), and Florida Republicans are butthurt about the results. So the fine folks at Public Policy Polling thought it would be a neat idea to exploit that GOPer melancholy and the infinite sadness and ask them to look four years into the future and tell everyone who will be president. The PPP found that former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush leads Marco Rubio 28 percent to 22 percent as to who will definitely, without a doubt, for sure is going to be the next president

Comments:
Favored by who? the Bush family. Really, who would poll-test this ridiculous idea?

No more Bushes please. The left would have a field day. I thank 41 and 44 for their valued service, but enough is enough. This is not a monarchy - so not more Bush, Clinton, or Obama´s. Let´s move ahead (notice I did not say "forward" or "on" too!)

Get real. Bush´s loose spending policies and inept handling of Iraq gave us this mess. His brother would be no better. Plus with a Bush name he would automatically be portrayed as the next generation of evil incarnate.

This is a totally stupid and losing prospect.

C´mon folks. Jeb Bush was a very popular and successful governor of one of our biggest states (Florida). We could do much worse (i.e., ANY Democrat). I cannot understand why some self-proclaimed conservatives are afflicted with the same hatred for the Bush family as the Bush-Derangement-Syndrome-addled left wingers who plotted and succeeded in undermining both GHW.´s and GW´s presidencies. Anyone with a lick of good sense knows that the country would have been far better off under these men than their successors (Clinton and Obama). We are in real trouble now, so I have lost all patience with anti-Bush zealots and their continual complaining.

It´s so sad that those of us who ROTFLOL at such a phony poll must qualify ourselves first by saying yes, the Bushes are nice, yes they are classy. However, no way ever will most conservatives (of any color) vote for another globalist disguised as a conservative. The GOP likes dynasties as long as it is a Bush not a Kennedy. The USA died on 11-6-2012. All that is left is for the corpse to implode under the weight of it´s rotting carcas.

That should occur within weeks of NØbama granting blanket amnesty and citizenship to 20,000,000 illegal aliens.

Whatever banana republic is left will be a one-party (Demon-RAT socialist). It will make Cuba look like a paradise. There will be no more US presidential elections, so all this guessing is just folly...

That said, I think the Bush name is going to be politically toxic for years to come; we need to look for new leadership among the next generation of conservatives, those who can articulate our principles to the ones who need to hear them: The not-yet-but-soon-to-be converts who are still politically confused. Marco Rubio is one of several young guns who can do that job quite well.

During President Eisenhower’s first term, 60 years ago, the United States faced an invasion across its southern border. Illegal aliens had been coming since World War II. But, suddenly, the number was over 1 million. Crime was rising in Texas. The illegals were taking the jobs of U.S. farm workers. Under Gen. Joseph May Swing, the Immigration and Naturalization Service launched “Operation Wetback” and began rounding up and deporting Mexican border-crossers by ship and bus. By the end of Ike’s second term, illegal entries had fallen by 90 percent.

I’ve been hearing the name Jackie Robinson a lot lately, and not just because a movie about him, “42,” hit multiplexes on Friday and had a bigger opening-weekend gross than any baseball movie ever. I’ve been hearing it in the context of an intensifying drumbeat: that the “gay Jackie Robinson” is just weeks or months away. We should retire the phrase now. It’s a flawed comparison. As a few other observers have noted, it doesn’t do justice to Robinson’s experience and to the many differences between the challenges he confronted and those facing

ROME — Pope Francis has backed the Vatican´s doctrinal crackdown on a major group of American nuns, reasserting the Roman Catholic Church´s conservative approach to various social issues in a move that could cool the warm reception he has received from some liberal Catholics since taking office last month. The Vatican said in a statement Monday that Francis had reaffirmed the doctrinal evaluation and criticism of U.S. nuns made last year by the Holy See under his predecessor, Pope Benedict XVI. George P. Bush, the son of former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, and the man many consider to be the heir to the Bush political legacy because of his Hispanic roots, is out with a new video in his race to become Texas Land Commissioner and he’s decided to nationalize the race by setting his sights on President Obama. Released on April 15, the deadline to file taxes, Bush calls it Obama’s favorite day of the year and contrasts his conservative values with an Obama he says is only interested in growing federal government and collecting taxes.

I’m worried about the Supreme Court. I’m worried about how the justices can properly debate same-sex marriage when some don’t even seem to realize that most Americans use the word “gay” now instead of “homosexual”; when Chief Justice John Roberts thinks gays are merely concerned with marriage as a desirable “label,” and when Justice Samuel Alito compares gay marriage to cellphones. The Nine are back there in their Miss Havisham lairs mulling, disconcertingly disconnected. In his zeal to scare people about the “possible deleterious effect” of gay parents adopting, Justice Antonin Scalia did not seem fully

Quite a few Republicans have been announcing new stages in their “evolution” on same-sex marriage, which is being debated in the Supreme Court today and tomorrow. Senator Rob Portman of Ohio said earlier this month that he was prompted to reverse his position when he learned his son was gay – after a two-year period of reflection that included having his name floated as a potential running mate for Mitt Romney, a staunch opponent of gay marriage.

It was a sickening crime that fit an all-too-familiar storyline. Young men who turned a night of partying into an ugly sexual assault. A culture in which high school football players are treated like gods and act as if no rules apply. And an innocent young woman who was abused by people she thought were friends and then humiliated. But they never lost faith in Francesco, the merchant’s son who spoke to wolves, slept on dirt floors and dined with lepers. That the new pope would take the name of Francis, in honor of the saint from the Umbrian town of Assisi, is the most radical first move by a pontiff in some time. The Massachusetts college student wanted in the Boston Marathon bombing was captured wounded, but alive after hiding out in a boat parked in a backyard on Friday evening. The arrest of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev signaled the end of five days of terror set-off by the double bombing at the marathon finish line and the mayor of Boston, Thomas Menino, was quoted by the Boston Globe as taking to the police scanner to exclaim, ´We got him´. Relieved law enforcement officers began cheering and clapping after Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, was arrested and is now in a serious condition at Beth Israel Deaconess

We are still speculating about virtually everything right now, but I feel as though I need to explain why I find the quick and easy conversation about Muslims being radicalized in America to be so illogical and laced with bigotry. Of course, there is a global violent jihadist movement, loosely organized, that wants to recruit young men to influence policies at home and abroad and perhaps usher in the global caliphate. That ideology motivates some Muslims to kill innocent people. But you´re allowed to be a radical Muslim in America.

Waco - Baylor star Brittney Griner has revealed she’s a lesbian. The Bears center, who was picked No. 1 overall in the recent WNBA Draft (to the Phoenix Mercury) and is considered by many to be an all-time great in women’s college basketball, casually explained her sexual orientation to Sports Illustrated. Griner was asked by SI’s Maggie Gray on the difference between men’s and women’s sports when it comes to acceptance of sexual orientation; why the WNBA has been able to often embrace many lesbians within their sport, while male sports in America still waits on its first publicly gay player.

Allen West issued a scathing statement on his Facebook page Friday, in response to the ongoing manhunt for one of the suspects in the Boston Marathon bombings. “Let me be very clear. The terrorist attack in Boston and evolving events indicate we have a domestic radical Islamic terror problem in America,” he wrote. “No more excuses. No more apologies. We are in a war of ideological wills and we shall prevail.”
