Listening to President Obama speak on election night, I thought of the moment in "The Lion King" when Scar took over Pride Rock. My sentiment for America was perfectly captured by the accompanying song, “Be Prepared.” Be prepared, America, for another $5 trillion dollars in debt. That means America would be over $20 trillion in debt, one half of it added by one man, Barack Obama. Be prepared for higher taxes on those who are pulling the wagon, and more benefits for those who are sitting in the wagon.
Comments: Of course not. His radical ideology is deeply ingrained in him. I´m so sorry that 2016 didn´t have more of an impact on this election.
No, 0bama will not change; he Won. He will puff out his chest and remind everyone that he won, so he will be making the rules. You will see his wife planning many expensive, lavish and luxurirous vacations, taking all her family and friends. They will stay at only the exclusive resorts, and the reason is, Michelle too will say, they have "Won," and she is entitled to these get-a-ways all at the taxpayer expense. Axelrod already has said since 0bama has won, he has a mandate to raise taxes on everyone. 0bama will not stop the excessive spending; he has won, so he feels entitled to spend, spend, spend. Each day massive amounts of new regulations are being thrust upon American businesses by his Executive Order. He no longer needs to check with congress, because he won, he will do it his way.
Obama will be exactly the same +100%. The Republicans will sit back and complain, and put up a feeble and ineffective resistance on the issues before compromising, caving in, and sinking back to irrelevancy.
I don´t care about Republicans anymore - they´re all talk and get outfoxed, out organized, out publicized, and out voted by the Democrats on every issue. No more money from me - I´m done donating to the do-nothing GOP.
I find it ironic that according to Rasmussen polls 72% of the country are concerned about inflation and 48% are very concerned. If this were the case the question for those 78% is- why did they vote for Obama a second time? Assclowns deserve what they wished for!!
There will be no "And yet" scenario in Obama´s second term. The man is a product of his own indoctrination. A complete mindless robot of an evil ideology. No novel could do justice to what is about to happen to our once great country.
When he ran in 2008, he ran on ´´change´´, and we got change all right -- change for the worse!!!!!
So, as bad as NØbama was with re-election keeping him in check to some extent in his first term, I have no doubt that he is going to change to become a lot worse in his second term now that he has nothing to lose and nothing stopping him from letting his true colors show...
Change...why should he? He has been winning in his game plan of destroying the American economy and weakening the military. He is going to "move forward" as never before, if for no other reason than once again the majority of voting Americans have proven just how ignorant and really stupid they are, have been and wish to continue!
Change, there will be no change. Our disadvantage is we don´t ultimately know who is directing his moves or what the ultimate goal might be. I tend to believe that even with a 2nd 4 year term, he will not succeed in destroying the US. The growth of TX oil production by a million barrels a day leading the US to become a next exporter of refined oil has thrown a monkey wrench in someone´s plans. The 700,000 bpd growth from ND could be tolerated because it costs and extra $20 per barrel to get it to refineries. And so far, Obama has failed to find a regulation to block permitting on private land.
fta: So I don’t expect Obama to change. I have argued in my book "Obama’s America," and implied in my film "2016," that he cannot change. He is like the toy soldier who walks into the wall and keeps going. That is the only Obama we can realistically expect for the next four years.
~~ And THAT should have been the last paragraph of this article. The rest is drivelly wishful thinking and pixy dust unfit to be published.
Dinesh D´Souza, he´s one the many pundits who play in the carefree world of punditry. I thought the movie 2016 nailed this down. I shall add Dinesh to my list of azzhats, right after the Limbaugh Brothers.
In Obama´s mind, everything is going according to plan. He is not a patriot. He´s not even a good man (despite what GOP apologists rush to say).
The goals we have for our country---properity, strength, an opportunity for hard workers----are not his goals. He wants to see us weakened--to bring us down to the level of socialist countries. He may want worse than that.
It will now be worse than ever before---worse maybe than we can even dream.
With this talk of the Lion King, I think rather of 1 Peter: Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.
This lion is not brilliant but rather predatory.
Like several have said, the last half of the article turns my stomach.
The tax rate increase will not reduce the deficit not only because it is a drop in the bucket but also increasing the rate reduces the revenue. The treasury needs more revenue not less. The real purpose of the increase is to placate his rabid jealous envious base. That is more important than growing the economy etc. Obama will push for this and the cry baby will cave in. Pathetic!
I have every confidence that Obama, in his overweening arrogance and egotism, will finally do something so outrageous that it blows up in his face in a way that even the msm can´t cover up or direct attention from. Will it make any difference? I can´t say. I suppose only future historians will get it thoroughly sorted out in about 100 years or so. Such a shame that there won´t be any Americans left around to read it.
Law-enforcement officials in the U.S. are expanding the use of tools routinely used by computer hackers to gather information on suspects, bringing the criminal wiretap into the cyber age. Federal agencies have largely kept quiet about these capabilities, but court documents and interviews with people involved in the programs provide new details about the hacking tools, including spyware delivered to computers and phones through email or Web links—techniques more commonly associated with attacks by criminals. People familiar with the Federal Bureau of Investigation´s programs say that the use of hacking
A handwritten note about Obamacare from President Obama was auctioned off for nearly $10,000. The auction house Nate D. Sanders put the final bid at $9,799. Some 10 people bid on the note in the July auction, and it was one of the highest bids for an Obama letter in his presidency. Here is how Sanders promoted the letter: "Excellent-content autograph letter signed by Barack Obama on his health care legislation. On official White House stationery, undated but likely early 2010, Obama writes in full, ´´Beth - I received your letter, and want you to hear back from me.
Like a battered spouse in an abusive relationship, the Pentagon paid billions of dollars to companies even though the same companies were known to have defrauded the government in the past, according to a report compiled by Department of Defense officials. But the Pentagon´s ability to research sanctions levied by DOD offices against contractors, and to monitor sanctioned contractors as they merge, acquire new names and become new companies, is as piecemeal and filled with guesswork as that of anyone trying to do such research from the outside, with limited integrated systems and unique identifiers, the report said.
Hillary Clinton, get ready for your close-up. The former secretary of state and potential 2016 presidential candidate is the subject of a series of Hollywood projects set for release in the near future. On the line-up: An NBC miniseries called “Hillary,” a CNN documentary based on Clinton’s life and a movie, dubbed “Rodham,” dramatizing her early years as a Washington lawyer. Plus, there’s an HBO documentary about former President Bill Clinton in the works. Martin Scorsese (of “Taxi Driver” fame) is directing that film, which will focus on his presidency and post-White House life. What’s causing the flood?
Republican New Jersey governor Chris Christie is appealing to “ChristieCrats” in a new re-election ad touting his bipartisan credentials. The Youtube ad, which the Christie campaign is quick to note does not appear on television or radio, highlights the outburst of Democratic love for the governor following his high-profile embrace of President Obama after Hurricane Sandy late last October — a move that angered many national Republicans who felt the photo op damaged Mitt Romney’s chances in the 2012 presidential election. “There are so many Democrats endorsing Chris Christie’s re-election that they actually have a name, ‘ChristieCrats,’”
House Oversight and Government Reform Committee chairman and California Republican Rep. Darrell Issa has subpoenaed the U.S. Treasury Department for documents related to the IRS targeting scandal. The Treasury Department, headed by Obama appointee and former Obama White House Chief of Staff Jack Lew, said that it is cooperating with the subpoena. Issa also accused acting IRS commissioner Danny Werfel of obstructing his investigation Friday in the final IRS hearing before congressional summer recess.
On his show Friday, Glenn Beck became convinced that many members of the Obama administration act like racists, after breaking down the “anatomy of a racist”: they see groups over individuals, they lack objectivity, and they seek power through conflict. Beck concluded that the president and his allies are trying to sow the seeds of a race war. Beck has previously leveled these same charges at Obama, calling him a racist who is uncomfortable with white people four years ago, but in an exchange flagged by Right Wing Watch, this time he upped the
Rent free in their empty heads. There would be no home field advantage in Alaska for Sarah Palin if the former governor made a run for the White House in 2016, according to a new poll released Friday. Hillary Clinton, the front runner for the Democrats in 2016, would beat Palin 49-40 in a hypothetical match-up, according to a survey from Democratic firm Public Policy Polling. Palin is the only potential GOP candidate Clinton topped in poll. Despite it being her home state, only 18 percent of Alaskans think Palin should make a bid for the
CHARLOTTE —What does the term “summer camp” mean to you? Swimming? Hiking? Arts & Crafts? Archery? Hot dogs? Ghost stories by a campfire? For children in the Middle East “summer camp” could mean rocket launchers, hand grenades, suicide vests and learning how to manage an improvised explosive device (IED). From the beginning of June until the first week in July, Hamas organizes month-long summer camps for nearly 100,000 students. More than 60% of them are young men between the ages of 10 and 22. According to the Chairman of the Hamas Central Summer Camp Committee, Moussa al-Sammak,
OCALA, Fla. — Angela Corey, the special prosecutor in George Zimmerman’s murder trial, is being sued by a former employee she fired after he testified against her handling of evidence in the case. Corey fired Ben Kruidbos, her office’s information technology director, after his June 6 pre-trial testimony in which he revealed information concealed from Zimmerman’s defense team by the prosecution. His termination letter included allegations of serious workplace misconduct such as violating public records laws. However, the allegations conflict with the kudos Corey’s office gave Kruidbos on May 16, when he received a pay raise for “meritorious service.”
WASHINGTON — The 2016 presidential marathon began this week when Hillary Clinton had a very visible, heavily promoted White House lunch with President Obama, and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie threw a political punch at one of his potential rivals for the Republican nomination. If there were any doubts that the former secretary of state plans to run for president, they were put to rest when she and Obama had lunch on the patio outside the Oval Office on Monday. The White House photographer, Chuck Kennedy, took pictures of the tete-a-tete that were
By granting a yearly and renewable asylum to Edward Snowden, Vladimir Putin has challenged President Barack Obama. He has made it clear that the famous “reset” button with Russia, signed onto and endorsed by Hillary Clinton when she was secretary of State, meant only that the United States would allow Russia to get away with what it wanted in international affairs as long as Putin’s authority was not challenged. Russia would continue to aid its Syrian ally, no matter what “red lines” were crossed, and all the United States would do is urge Russia to act differently.
White House insiders say President Barack Obama is in “a funk” about what he sees as increasing stagnation and failures surrounding his second term and some worry that the President is becoming more distant and distracted. “He’s not the same Obama that came to the Oval Office after the 2008 elections,” a senior White House aided confided to friends in an email recently. “I’m worried.” Chicago Mayor and former White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel tells friends that the Presidency has changed his longtime friend Obama and many of those changes are “not good.”
In warning about possible al Qaeda attacks against Americans overseas, U.S. officials may have provided too much detail about intercepted chatter and the source of the information, and that may make it more difficult to get such tips next time, former and current intelligence officials say.On Friday, the U.S. State Department issued a worldwide travel alert for Americans, citing an unspecified al Qaeda threat. The bulletin said that the highest threat levels are the Middle East and North Africa, “and possibly occurring in or emanating from the Arab Peninsula.”
Washington - President Barack Obama´s top national security advisers met at the White House on Saturday to discuss the potential threat of terrorist attacks that caused Washington and its allies to issue travel warnings and close embassies throughout the Middle East. The United States issued a worldwide travel alert on Friday (Snip) Obama is spending the weekend at the Camp David presidential retreat after playing golf earlier on Saturday. His birthday is Sunday. The White House said Obama had received regular briefings about the potential threat and U.S. preparedness measures all week.
Citing a potential al Qaeda attack, the State Department on Friday issued a worldwide travel alert and warned American citizens that the terrorist group may be plotting a strike in the Middle East, North Africa or elsewhere. “Current information suggests that al Qaeda and affiliated organizations continue to plan terrorist attacks both in the region and beyond, and that they may focus efforts to conduct attacks in the period between now and the end of August,” reads a portion of the alert, which lasts until the end of the month.
Executive Director of Mayors Against Illegal Guns Mark Glaze gave some ambiguous and potentially dangerous self defense advice Friday on “Hardball.” Glaze, speaking in opposition to “Stand Your Ground” laws, said in a circumstance where someone “comes at you” with an axe handle one should attempt to either “talk,” “fight with your fists,” “run away,” or “deescalate the situation,” but not shoot the attacker: MARK GLAZE: Very often somebody will come at you. They might want to have a fistfight. They might come at you with an ax handle. CHRIS MATTHEWS: Would you consider the guy with the ax handle armed or not?
[Video] Rapper Jay Z appearing on HBO´s "Real Time" with Bill Maher says that the black community wants upward economic mobility rather than a stronger police presence. In a conversation with former Congressman Barney Frank about police tactics such as stop-and-frisk, Jay Z suggests the stagnant economy and wealth inequality could cause widespread social unrest: "The real problem is there´s no middle class, right? So the gap between the have and have-nots is getting wider and wider... It´s gonna be a problem that no amount of police can solve, because once you have that sort of oppression
You don´t have to be gay or even Russian to feel the wrath of the Russian government´s homophobia. You could go to jail if you are "pro-gay," whatever that means. And that´s under just one of a growing number of hate-infused bills becoming law at a time when, as it happens, Russia is preparing to host the world in the next Winter Olympics. The perverse anti-gay legislation is inflaming an atmosphere of persistent intimidation and at times deadly violence against Russian gays and lesbians. The question now is: What should the rest of the world do?
I have a suggestion. How about an exhibit on Tawana Brawley? If the purpose of the new National Museum of African American History and Culture at the Smithsonian is to remember racial controversies, as the proposed Trayvon exhibit seems to confirm, then how about an honest look at the phenomenon of hate crime hoaxes? Particular attention should be paid to the role of the media in both the Trayvon and Tawana materials. Unquestionably, the media stirred up racial animus, and these incidents both contributed to raising racial tensions.
Common sense tells me that cops don´t need a Taser or a shotgun to subdue a 95-year-old man. When John Wrana was a young man, fit and strong and fighting in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps, did he ever think he´d end this way? Just a few weeks shy of his 96th birthday, in need of a walker to move about, cops coming through the door of his retirement home with a Taser and a shotgun.
Not only should President Obama cancel a bilateral summit with "schoolyard bully" Russian President Vladimir Putin, Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., said Sunday on "Face the Nation," but considering the country granted asylum to National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden, U.S. allies should try to move next month´s G-20 gathering from St. Petersburg. "President Putin´s behaving like a schoolyard bully, and in my experience, I´ve learned, unless you stand up to that bully, they ask for more and more and more," Schumer said. "He´s always going out of his way, President Putin is, to seem to poke us in
An odd dark vertical line that was observed in the sky over Florida earlier this week has left meteorologists puzzled. The shadowy apparition was spotted and photographed by Mike Weight at Honeymoon Island State Park near Dunedin, Florida, Wednesday. Weight was walking on the beach at around 12.30pm. The day was bright and sunny, but there were thunderheads forming to the east. ‘I was looking North when I observed what looked like a ray of dark light coming down from a small cloud to the surface of the Gulf about a half-mile away,’ the 73-year-old man wrote in an email
Several skills that every kid once learned in school are going the way of the dodo in a hurry. Diagramming sentences is practically an extinct art, for example. Cursive handwriting and memorized multiplication tables look to be swiftly headed that way. Apparently, the next thing that kids will no longer need to learn is spelling and grammar. Sugata Mitra, a professor of educational technology at Newcastle University in northeast England, announced that traditional language rules are out of fashion, reports the Daily Mail. Kids don’t need to waste time on those things, see. State-of-the-art computers and mobile phones can make
