of U.S., NATO troops in Afghanistan

ABOARD A U.S. MILITARY AIRCRAFT — The FBI probe into the sex scandal that led to the resignation of CIA director David Petraeus has expanded to ensnare Gen. John R. Allen, the commander of U.S. and NATO troops in Afghanistan, the Pentagon announced early Tuesday. According to a senior U.S. defense official, the FBI has uncovered between 20,000 and 30,000 pages of “potentially inappropriate” emails between Allen and Jill Kelley, a 37-year-old Tampa woman whose close friendship with Petraeus ultimately led to his downfall. Allen, a Marine, succeeded Petraeus as the top

Wow. Complete, total cultural and ethical dry rot. Seriously, Washington is so out of control that it would benefit from being burned to the ground. Presidents, Secret Service, Generals,...all obsessively consumed with hedonistic pursuits regardless of consequences.

The people need to retake control. How much longer can this country even exist in the throes of such Rome-like decadence?

...20 to 30 THOUSAND pages?...

..."potentially inappropriate"...

...and once again the FBI. This was the woman who approached an FBI friend concerning questionable emails. An agent who later sent a "shirtless" photo to her. So the FBI was "probing" beyond Petraeus...

...would like to know the whys of who "expanded" the probe. Something is smelling more and more as the days go by...

Social Liaison seems the newest rage.

#5 I have been expecting a purge of some sort. So that the right sort of people can be promoted.

We need a gay married couple, one an admiral the other a general. Our nation would be so improved.

And budget problems or not let´s finally fund the long proposed Pentagon Ballet. How many more decades must the people wait?

"Seven Days in May" comes to mind, just with a role reversal. Replacing the ranks...?

And, yes, 20-30 THOUSAND pages. A woman who is an "unpaid" sort of social liaison having that much "correspondence" with the top US and NATO commander in Afghanistan, who was to be the Supreme Allied Commander of NATO, and of American forces in Europe.

Sex is NOT what this is about....Ike would´ve been drummed out based on the allegations w/ Kay Summersby during WWII. There is something much more sinister, going back much farther, involving many more layers of people (and potentially foreign government players?) than just a casual affair, poor judgment, and now, reams of correspondence between two newly introduced players to this scenario. And two highly-unlikely-to-have-known-one-another players at that...

Tom Clancy couldn´t have written this.

The odds of all this actually being about a sex scandal(s) are now close to 0. The timing - days after the success of the MSM´s biggest cover-up operation in history, the reelection of Barack Van Jones Obama - tells the tale. Someone´s rear is being protected (any guesses?) about Benghazi and, most probably, even more deeply buried scandals involving Iran and perhaps Russia. But, whatever is going on, sex is the least of it.

Beck was speculating on a few things about this. One is WHY was Panetta put in charge of the Pentagon and Patraeus put in charge of CIA? The reverse would be more logical. It appears Patraeus was being set up from the very beginning to be the fall guy.

Apparently this was all known for over two weeks and was hushed up until after the election.

Don´t ever tell me any Liberal Marxist Democrat has anything resembling Ethics and Integrity in their heart and soul.

OK even Republicans and Democrats in the House have no Ethics or Integrity, much less the guts or the President would be Impeached. In addition the traitorous Democrats in the Senate would never convict him.

Liberal Marxist better start sweating the parts of the Declaration of Independence about citizens rising up. It´s enforcement may come sooner than they think.

Speaking of sex scandals, why is Valerie Jarrett living on the second floor of the White House? Why isn´t the media interested in this possibility?

The FBI has a lot more on Petraeus than hitting Broadwell. He got a plea bargain.

Kelly was just friends with Petraeus and there are tens of thousands of emails with Allen. Got that?

There is definitely an element of "set-up" in all of this, and now I feel less like a nut for believing that Chris Stevens was left unguarded deliberately and that the shot-down SEAL packed helicopter was deliberately "given up;" that the high tech drone was gifted to Iran; that the costly Camp Bastion attack was another "gift;" the recent prosecution of seven SEALS for giving secrets to a game maker is another set-up; and the deaths of many of our ground troops result from a deck purposely stacked against them.

´´Duty-Honor-Country. Those three hallowed words reverently dictate what you ought to be, what you can be, what you will be. They are your rallying points; to build courage when courage seems to fail; to regain faith when there seems to be little cause for faith; to create hope when hope becomes forlorn.(snip)But these are some of the things they do. They build your basic character; they mold you for your future roles as custodians of the nation´s defense; they make you strong enough to know when you are weak, and brace enough to face yourself when you are afraid. They teach you to be proud and unbending in honest failure, but humble and gentle in success, not to substitute words for action, not to seek the path of comfort, but to face the stress and spur of difficulty and challenge; to learn to stand up in the storm but to have compassion on those who fail; to master yourself before you seek to master others; to have a heart that is clean, a goal that is high; to learn to laugh yet never forget how to weep; to reach into the future yet never neglect the past; to be serious yet never take yourself too seriously; to be modest so that you will remember the simplicity of true greatness, the open mind of true wisdom, the meekness of true strength.´´

We did not know it was terrorism until the second plane hit the tower. When Obama was elected the second time, I have since come to suspect that Obama´s end game is to destroy Israel - which, in his eye´s, is the essence of colonialism.

He is doing working to this end by 1)defunding our military, 2) putting in weak leaders into our military and 3) destroying the countries in the middle east so that they are all 100% muslim brotherhood led.

If he successfully deceives Congress´ investigation and comes through Bengazi unscathed, we are in for a rough ride.

The peak of the mountain was during the Reagan and HW´s administrations. The clinton´s won the 92 election because of an intense hatred of HW by "charts" Perot, and the downhill slide began. Remember, within the first week gays in the military was run up the flag pole, unfortunately too many saluted!

Then came "it depends what the meaning of is is" and then "it isn´t sex" only greased the skids and sharpened the angle of the downhill slide!

It seems that the President of the United States of America is involved not only with several pro-terrorist activities but with the murder of 4 American citizens. So, his handlers need to point the finger at others.
.... Obama and his protectors have decided to discredit the top officials in the U.S. Military.

From the folks who called Bill Clinton´s sexual romps ´just sex,´ we now learn that U.S. Generals are not held to the same mold.
.... Clinton raped one woman, played sex games in the Oval Office with another and enjoyed the sexual illicit love affairs with several.

I am beginning to wonder who will finally say ´enough!´

Or better yet, let´s stop trying to help one barbarian group win against another barbarian group that will later turn the guns we gave them on us. I find myself wishing Russia had taken Afghanistan and wiped out the Taliban for us.

I learned when clinton was pres..that him having sex with a young intern...was his own private life...now all of a sudden sex matters...
who was the spy in all this for this adminstration...
also, as #19 pointed out that justice Roberts was blackmailed..really, well thats great..he should have manned up..he allowed a whole country to become socialist just to Cover his own butt...I have no respect for the guy..and I dont care what he did to be blackmailed..many people will die because of him being a coward..
in the meantime...the adminstration knew all this sex crap...and the Leader of this once free country just so happens to be"out of town" on a trip that takes months to prepare for...after an "election" that he knew he was going to "win" and conveiently is not here during the breakout of this sex scandal...but no one investigates the wons own scandals...

In the meantime, everyone forgets that 4 Amerikans have died for what use to be a Free Country. we are all being played like fiddles..while obama dances....unbelievable

It may very well be a purge. But you´d think the Generals would have had enough sense not to allow themselves to be caught up so easily. 20-30,000 emails? How the heck did they have anytime to do their jobs?

I have often posted here that I believed Petraeus (and his wife) were co-opted by the Obama Administration when his wife got the high level position at the new Consumer Protection Bureau and Petraeus accepted the CIA job. He could have made so much more money sitting on corporate boards after his retirememnt from the Army.

This scandal also intersects the Sinclair scandal. Sinclair is the general who was relieved of command and charged with something like "forcible sexual contact" with a female captain in his command. Based on what I´ve read, Sinclair sounds like a real creep, but maybe it´s all a set-up to take out the generals and replace them with Obama´s handpicked flunkies who will carry out his commands against the civilian population.

#5 seems to be right on the money. This is nothing short of a purge so that the Military leadership will fall in line and to prevent ANYONE who detests the trajectory of this administration from beoming a rallying point for the opposition. It sure as heck won´t come from the political class on any level.

Firing squads would draw too much attention,,,,for now.

There is a very weird photo on Drudge... http://tiny.cc/iyspnw

...showing two almost-identical women along with Patraeus and his wife and Kelley´s husband. IMO, the woman listed as Natalie Khawam and the woman listed as Jill Kelley are either uncannily twin-like or the photo´s been photoshopped for reasons which escape me.

What is going on with this story?

Totally agree with #5, #6 and especially with #55. Decapitate the military, get urkel´s handpicked brass moved up, and put the fear of the urkel regime in the rest of them to keep ´em in line. When the time comes to fire on the citizenry, (that´s you and me, boys and girls) they won´t hesitate. Time´s a-wastin´! Let the purging begin. And don´t forget, now that the military is a bunch of liars in the public´s eye, anything they testify about Benghazi will be viewed with a jaundiced eye. Bingo, urkel skates again.

This is either a major (or, ´general´?) set-up of enormous magnitude, or we have a class of ´´general groupies´´.

Is it possible these women were hired (by whom is your own guess - my mind boggles at the possibilities) for destruction of our top intel and military figures, in order to install more perfumed princes (yes-men) in those high level U.S. security positions?

What would Brad Thor do with this scenario?

#59, Kelley is a twin, there is a Jill and a Natalie, both reside in the Tampa area, her family name is said to be Khawam and the family immigrated here from Lebanon. It is unclear if the women were born here or in Labanon. By the sound of their names they are probably Lebanese Christians.

Once Obama nominates gays and women to command what is left of the military, these routine bimbo eruptions at the top will magically stop, then they can start investigating more complicated situations.

And, sorry, but I have to reiterate the not-about-sex now meme. Also, foreign influence keeps coming to mind, and I can´t shake that feeling. Could be completely wrong but....

I also keep reminding myself that this evil occupier in the WH has complete control over our nukes, drones, etc. If he is purging the ranks ( a reverse " Seven Days in May" scenario), it would take a a response of coup proportions by a large portion of the military itself to stop him.

And I was wondering what motivated an ´unpaid social liaison for the military´, with so many responsibilities, to work without compensation.

It was reported that Kelley did not work for the military, so who was making it worth her while? Who is her boss? Who hired her?

When she reported the threatening e-mail from the first woman, didn´t Kelley figure that the FBI would check her e-mails and find the 20-30,000 e-mails with Gen Allen? Was this part of the plan when she was sending all those e-mails?

I would be interested in dates that the Petraeus affair actually began and the e-mail storm began with Allen.

So many lies, so little credibility.

I would be livid if I had a son or daughter fighting in Afghanistan. Their leader should be spending every waking moment figuring out how to win the war and how to insure the safety of our troops. Instead it appears that he´s back in his office diddling with his computer and Lord knows what else. Lets do a little math: 25,000 pages of emails @ 10 minutes per page = 4,167 hours of dealing with personal emails to/from Tampa "friend." He´s been in charge over there for about two years, so that would be almost 2,100 hr/year on this. 2,000 hours is considered a years worth of work ... so when did he have time to lead the war? Meantime, his troops are getting killed weekly by "friendly" Afghanistan fake soldiers and police. Time to bring ´em home, at least the General.

Remembering after 1996 when BJ was re-elected, how down everyone was- until Monica hit the headlines, thanks to Miss Lucianne and our pal Drudge.

Then, instead of getting up every day to be dismayed at what the commys had been up to that day, we had the great fun of at least two years of Clinton peccadillos courtesy the ´New Media´.

All we need now is a bunch of patriotic Republican Congressman like the Kings, Issa, Chaffetz etc to step up and make their collectivist lives a living hell.

Be careful whatcha wish for commys.

The death toll continues to mount in Afghanistan while Obama
plays golf and smooches with Reggie Love
while his Commanders spend hours fooling around
with women they are not married to.
Absolute dereliction of duty.
Since Obama was inaugurated, the US death toll in Afghanistan has sky rocketed.
We´re up to about 1,520 .
Not that Cindy Sheehan or the media would care.
The latest-

Capt. James D. Nehl, 37, of Gardiner, Ore., died Nov. 9, in Ghazni Province, Afghanistan, from small arms fire while on patrol during combat operations.

Staff Sgt. Kenneth W. Bennett, 26, of Glendora, Calif., died Nov. 10, in Sperwan Gar, Afghanistan

Spc. Daniel L. Carlson, 21, of Running Springs, Calif., died Nov. 9, in Kandahar province, Afghanistan.

The Commander in Chief and his administration continue to treat our soldiers like they are cannon fodder
while they engage in their hedonistic pursuits.
If we controlled the Senate , impeachment and conviction would be imperative.

I just don’t believe all this talk of sinister plots. I think the war in Afghanistan is on a slow burn and these generals just have too much time on their hands. The dalliances of these guys have a classic example in history. Just look at King David – another general who couldn’t keep his wick in his pocket mostly because he had too much time.
In the spring of the year, the time when kings go out to battle, David sent Joab, (2Sa 11:1). And it happened, late one afternoon, ….that he saw….a woman bathing (2Sa11:2). First of all he sent someone else to do his job and then – like I said – he had too much time on his hands.

She like many other residents shows here support for the military community through various activities. Over the years she kept in touch with Gen Allen and the two exchanged friendly emails on military matters and nothing more. When the truth comes out the press will look as stupid as ever.

The regents of the University of Michigan (UM) granted a hefty tuition discount to students who are in the country illegally. Under the old tuition policy, illegal immigrants living in the state of Michigan were automatically considered out-of-state students. Alabama Republican Sen. Jeff Sessions voiced concerns over the bipartisan proposal for immigration reform introduced on Monday by eight senators, saying the plan will substantially increase the already sky-high national debt and criticizing the federal government for inadequately enforcing existing immigration laws. “No one should expect the members of the Senate are just going to rubber stamp what a group who met decided,” Sessions said on the Senate floor. While immigration system needs to be reformed, Sessions said, the country has been through this dance before. The Alabama senator recalled the failed promise of enforcement following immigration reform in 1986

Former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld has said that ´a trained ape´ could do a better job managing American interests in Afghanistan than President Obama. The retired Republican made the insult while doing a phone-in interview for Greta Van Susteren´s Fox News show on Tuesday. He argued that the President made a serious error by failing to negotiate a status forces agreement with Afghan President Hamid Karzai. Gawker points out that such an agreement would effectively commit the United States to having a certain number of troops in the country for a number of years beyond the already-agreed-upon plan which

Three Secret Service agents responsible for protecting President Obama in Amsterdam this week were sent home and put on administrative leave Sunday after going out for a night of drinking, according to three people familiar with the incident. One of them was found drunk and passed out in a hotel hallway, the people said. The hotel staff alerted the U.S. Embassy in the Netherlands after finding the unconscious agent Sunday morning, a day before Obama arrived in the country, according to two of the people. The embassy then alerted Secret Service managers on the presidential trip, which included Secret Service

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D., Nev.) said the fault of struggling to sign up on the Obamacare exchanges didn’t lie with the faulty website, but with the people who weren’t “educated on how to use the Internet.” Explaining the reasoning behind the latest Obamacare delay, Reid said too many people just didn’t know to use their computer properly and needed more time. Apparently, it had nothing to do with the well-documented failings of the website that have embarrassed the White House for months. “We have hundreds of thousands of people who tried to sign up who didn’t get through,” he said.

Okay, THAT was certainly embarrassing. At the end of a joint news conference with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte in the Netherlands on Tuesday, the applause for Barack Obama came from a grand total of one guy. One. After thanking the crowd twice for suffering through his boring, standard worn-out spiel, Obama looked around the room, expecting the usual fanfare and applause he receives from his loyal followers back home. It never came. Instead, the Leader of the Free World was met with one slow, awkward clap. Question: was MSNBC’s Chris Matthews in the house?

Six months ago, Chairman of the House Oversight Committee Darrell Issa subpoenaed the emails of former head of IRS Tax Exempt Organizations Lois Lerner. Lerner was in charge during the IRS´ inappropriate targeting of conservative, patriot and tea party groups. IRS officials have failed to comply with the subpoena and today during a hearing on Capitol Hill, Issa threatened IRS Commissioner John A. Koskinen, one of only two political appointees at the agency, with contempt. "Unfortunately you´ve been more concerned with managing political fallout than complying with this Committee," Issa said, urging Koskinen to comply or "potentially be held in

U.S. President Barack Obama and Pope Francis met Thursday for the first time at Vatican City, offering a chance for a reset of sorts between the administration and Catholic leadership following years of strained relations. The two world leaders greeted each other with a smile and a handshake, and posed for pictures before sitting down across a table from each other. The goal of the meeting: Focus on areas where two of the world´s most influential men agree and gently tread ground where they differ. The President and the Pontiff will, as the White House said in a statement, focus on "shared commitment

Washington - A leading Democratic pollster predicted a "sobering" turnout disadvantage for her party in this year´s midterm elections and called on Democrats to articulate "a bigger economic agenda" this fall. "There is a huge turnout disadvantage and challenge," Democratic pollster Celinda Lake said Tuesday at a breakfast with reporters. "There is always a challenge in turnout in an off year, but it´s really dramatic this time." Lake was speaking a breakfast hosted by the Christian Science Monitor. Lake and Republican pollster Ed Goeas revealed results of a new George Washington University poll that showed GOP voter intensity in 2014 outpacing

The Obama administration is prepared to give prospective Obamacare enrollees another half-month to signup for insurance coverage through the Affordable Care Act website, healthcare.gov, treating the law´s March 31 regulatory deadline as a formality for Americans who claim they tried in earnest to sign up in time. During a March 12 congressional hearing, HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius told Texas Republican Rep. Kevin Brady that there would be no such extensions. ´Are you going to delay the open enrollment beyond March 31?´ Brady asked. ´No, sir,´ she replied. On the same day, Julie Bataille, a spokeswoman for the

Nearly six in 10 people disapprove of President Obama´s job performance in a new poll by the Associated Press, the highest rating recorded by the newswire. According to the AP-GFK survey released Wednesday, 59 percent disapprove of Obama´s job performance while 41 percent approve. A similar poll released by the news outlet in January found 45 percent approved of him while 53 percent disapproved. Other recent polling has found Obama´s disapproval rating slightly lower, remaining in the low 50s. A CBS News poll Tuesday showed 50 percent disapproval, while Gallup has his disapproval at 52 percent. In the AP poll,

As the U.S. Supreme Court weighed the constitutionality of a contraception coverage mandate Tuesday morning, a federal appeals court heard a separate legal challenge that could have much more sweeping implications for the future of President Obama´s health care law. And if the oral arguments before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit are any indication, it’s time for the White House to start sweating over a lawsuit that up until now has flown relatively below the radar. At issue in the case are the subsidies that the federal government provides for individuals purchasing insurance through Obamacare. Though the text

On Tuesday night two things happened. 1. A trio of Secret Service agents were sent home from Amsterdam after one was found passed out drunk in a hotel hallway. 2. The Obama Administration announced (another) extension of the enrollment deadline for Obamacare signups. At first glance, these two events have little in common with one another. But, modern politics is all about narratives and storylines. And, both of these events confirm a growing concern from the public about President Obama: That he´s just not up to governing his administration and, by extension, the country, effectively.

On Wednesday, Obama administration officials announced a two week extension in the deadline to enroll in the Affordable Care Act or face a penalty defined as a tax. Asked about this “delay” in the implementation of the ACA on Wednesday, Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) said that there has been no delay. He added that some of the users who experienced problems with the website early on need more time, partially because “people are not educated about how to use the internet.” “There’s no hiccup or delay,” Reid insisted. “We had hundreds of thousands of people who tried to sign up and
