Caterpillar downgraded
on Obama’s energy policy

Chicago Sun-Times, by Francine Knowles

Caterpillar Inc.’s stock was downgraded to “Neutral” from “Overweight” by JPMorgan Chase & Co. analyst Ann Duignan Monday. Duignan, who had rated Peoria-based Caterpillar “overweight” since April 2009, cited pressures on the sector to reduce costs and the potential negative impact on the U.S. coal and energy sectors following the re-election of President Barack Obama in downgrading the stock. Mining remains “pressured as companies continue to assess their investment plans for the longer term, and cuts are becoming more broad-based,” Duignan said in a research note.

Caterpillar is a huge barometer stock on the Dow. If it sinks a lot of others will go with it.

You really have to be clinically insane to do the things Obama is doing and if you check the wards in Philly,he might not even be a legitimate president.

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (AP) – Tony Stewart told anyone who would listen why he continued racing anywhere, anytime, regardless of purse or crowd or car. Even after he flipped five times last week, Stewart was quick to offer a stout defense for his short-track weeknight racing while some questioned if his extracurricular racing was putting his championship chances in NASCAR at risk. Well, his championship chances are officially over for this season. The three-time NASCAR champion broke his right leg Monday night at Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa

Which United States president will go down in history as the greatest humanitarian to have served in the office? The Republican Herbert Hoover is often known as the "Great Humanitarian" for his work administering famine relief in post-World War I Europe (and Bolshevik Russia) in the 1920s — but he did all that before he actually became president. Others might make the case for Franklin Delano Roosevelt, the Democrat who succeeded Hoover in the White House, whose New Deal initiatives relieved poverty and sickness on a grand scale within the United States.

There was an 1854 Lefaucheux pinfire pistol carbine on display, as well as an 1876 .22-caliber derringer in a glass box. But neither was for sale. It wouldn´t have mattered if they were. The gun enthusiasts who showed up in Rosemont on Friday for what was billed as the first-ever Chicagoland Gun Show didn´t seem interested in gawking at antique pistols. Some wanted to buy high-powered rifles, semi-automatic handguns and high-capacity magazines. But there wasn´t a single gun dealer at the show, only a Chicago collector who said he was there to show off his collection.

Springfield — Citing inaction on pensions, a prominent Wall Street bond-rating agency downgraded Illinois’ bond rating Friday, making the state the nation’s worst credit risk. The move by Standard & Poor’s to rate Illinois’ bonds at A- with a negative outlook comes as the state is preparing to go out on the market Wednesday with a $500 million bond issue. With the new lowered rating, Illinois eclipsed California as the least creditworthy state in the country in Standard & Poor’s eyes and could face higher borrowing costs. “We assessed what the pension fund status is,

When friends and family members gathered recently at the White House for a private celebration of Michelle Obama’s 50th birthday, one of the invited partygoers was a former paid FBI Mafia informant. LONDON - Peaches Geldof, the wild-child second daughter of concert organizer Bob Geldof who worked as a model, a television presenter and a fashion writer and filled the pages of British tabloids with her late-night antics, has died at age 25. There was no immediate word on the cause of her death at her home in Wrotham, Kent, southeast England. Her father said in a statement Monday: "Peaches has died. We are beyond pain." "She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us," he said. "Writing 'was' destroys me afresh. What a beautiful child. How is this possible that we will not see her again? How is that bearable? We loved her and will cherish her forever."

Call it the million-worker mystery. A large chunk of American adults are no longer in the labor force.
