Good news: Obama might pick John Kerry
for Defense, Susan Rice for State

Time for the daily reminder that elections have consequences, and not just at the presidential level. If the GOP had found a way to get to 51 in the Senate, I’m thinking O might not have bothered nominating Rice. The temptation for Republicans to nuke her out of hand over her Benghazi disinformation would have been enormous. As it is, with 55 seats in the bank, why not? President Obama is considering asking Sen. John F. Kerry (D-Mass.) to serve as his next defense secretary, part of an extensive rearrangement of his national security team that will include a permanent replacement

Nominating Kerry will be a slap in the face to active duty soldiers and veterans alike. I have been wondering, could a military coup take place in the U.S. That is, does anyone think it might be possible? If there was a popular revolt, who would today´s soldiers stand with, their fellow citizens or their contemptible CinC? Would the military take it upon themselves to stage a coup, and how would they go about it?

If Kerry leaves the senate that means Gov. Patrick can pick another Kennedy to fill Uncle Teddy`s `seat`.

Wouldn`t that be lovely? Many posters to various articles state we must hit `rock bottom` before we can dig out of this mess. I think we hit bottom 4 years ago when Bob Obama was first elected. We are past the point of no return. It`s over folks. Grab your shovels.

Mr WInter Soldier as SecDef and Rice at State.

A few years back you could not have written this as fiction it would have been laughed away .... now it will become reality.

Seriously, why not make Roseanne Barr Attorney General and nominate Bill Maher for UN Ambassador.

And the NYTimes is just so proud .... must be making Walter Duranty wnat to get up and dance on all the poor Ukrainian´s graves (millions) he purposely refused to report on during the 1930s lest someone get the wrong idea about the bolsheviks who really meant well.

Washington, D.C.—Something quite unexpected happened just hours ago, in the dark of night, during a two-day layover in Washington, DC. My son and I are scheduled to take part in a seminar outside of Raleigh, North Carolina this weekend, so we combined our travels to include a side-trip to DC for a business meeting we had previously arranged. It was during this layover that something seemingly ripped from the pages of a spy novel took place. While I was in the middle of a perfectly good and well needed sleep in the very early hours of this morning,

QUINCY – A mystery in Quincy continues to deepen: Who is flying around the city from dusk to dawn, for the past ten days or so? "It’s frightening, not just weird, but frightening,” said one resident of the Wollaston section. Every night for nearly the last two weeks, residents have spotted a low-flying aircraft doing loops over the city. WBZ has learned the FAA knows what’s going on, but the agency isn’t telling. “I mean it is strange. I don’t know if they’re looking for somebody, I have no idea,” one resident told WBZ. Just before 3 p.m. on April 15, Bauman was waiting among the crowd for his girlfriend to cross the finish line at the Boston Marathon. A man wearing a cap, sunglasses and a black jacket over a hooded sweatshirt looked at Jeff, 27, and dropped a bag at his feet, his brother, Chris Bauman, said in an interview. Two and a half minutes later, the bag exploded, tearing Jeff’s legs apart.

Barack Obama´s administration has cut the budget nearly in half for preventing domestic bombings, MailOnline can reveal. Under President George W. Bush, the Department of Homeland Security had $20 million allocated for preventing the use of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) by terrorists working inside the United States. The current White House has cut that funding down to $11 million. That assessment comes from Robert Liscouski, a former Homeland Security Assistant Secretary for Infrastructure Protection, in the wake of the Boston Marathon bombings on April 15 that killed three Americans and injured at least 173 others.

By now it’s settled on most people, including Democrats, that the loss of Alex Sink to David Jolly in Florida’s 13th Congressional District was, in the words of the New York Times, “devastating” to Democrats. It’s a district Ms. Sink carried in her unsuccessful race for governor against Rick Scott, a district that Barack Obama carried in his two elections, and a district that demographically now favors Democrats. In addition, Ms. Sink raised more money and ran a better campaign than Jolly. Even Bill Clinton lent his efforts to her campaign. And yet she lost. What should particularly alarm Democrats is
