| Nothing says class and glamour quite like comparing voting for the first time to losing your virginity. And nothing says grace and style like winning a national award for doing so. Now, the epitome of class, glamour, grace and style – Lena Dunham, who cut the infamous Obama campaign commercial suggesting that sleeping with Obama and voting for him were one and the same – has won Glamour’s “Woman of the Year Award.” In fact, Glamour labels her The Voice of a Generation. To which the American people reply: we’ll sell our bonds. Other winners include

Considering the tone of the Obama ad in which she appeared, the award would better be titled "Slut of the Year."

Remember the old Virginia Slims ad "You´ve come a long way baby?" I think that was from the ´60´s.
We´ve certainly come a long way in the wrong direction as far as women becoming as vulgar as possible in public....but actually it seems that the "modern woman" of today is the has simply regressed and has become the counter part of those who plied their ware´s in the world´s "oldest profession."
The difference is that the majority of our modern version is eager to give it away instead of making a few bucks on the deal.
I thought our brains counted for something. Way to go on elevating women in the workplace...it´s harder to break the "glass ceiling" in supine postion.

Two defendants in military sexual assault cases cannot be punitively discharged, if found guilty, because of “unlawful command influence” derived from comments made by President Barack Obama, a judge ruled in a Hawaii military court this week. Navy Judge Cmdr. Marcus Fulton ruled during pretrial hearings in two sexual assault cases — U.S. vs. Johnson and U.S. vs. Fuentes — that comments made by Obama as commander in chief would unduly influence any potential sentencing, according to a court documents obtained by Stars and Stripes.

GUANTANAMO BAY NAVY BASE, Cuba- Pentagon prosecutors and defense lawyers in the USS Cole death penalty case held the first closed hearing of the Obama war court Friday, a 78-minute secret session that excluded both the public and the accused al-Qaida terrorist. Army Brig. Gen. Mark Martins, the chief prosecutor, disclosed the length of the national security session but gave no details. He said the judge ordered production of a redacted transcript but gave no timetable for release. “There was a secret session. That’s all I can say,” said veteran criminal defense lawyer Rick Kammen after the hearing

Thousands of Americans are languishing in federal prisons for lying to federal officials. Federal officials themselves often get a pass when they tell a whopper to Congress. It’s a double standard that must end. The problem starts at the top with Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. His career in prevarication began as an advocate for Marc Rich, a fugitive from justice on the list of the FBI’s Top Ten most wanted when in the final days of the Clinton administration he engaged a group of Friends of Bill to work to obtain for him a presidential pardon.

When the firestorm raced across Black Forest, five grown children of Mike and Frances Vialpando feared it could be bad for all of them. The close-knit family lived almost within shouting distance of one another, spread among six homes in the rustic historic enclave once known as Brentwood Estates and Cabin Sites. Since then, it has been days of hope and despair, rumors and wishful thinking as the family waited to see if the homes were left standing. They were particularly fearful that they had lost their childhood home, where their parents have lived for more than 50 years.

Asked what the moral difference is between what Dr. Kermit Gosnell did to babies born alive and aborting those same infants moments before birth, Pelosi refused to answer. "As a practicing and respectful Catholic, this is sacred ground to me when we talk about this," Pelosi said. "This shouldn´t have anything to do with politics."
