The man who voices Sesame Street´s popular character Elmo is denying he had gay sex with a minor, as Sesame Street honchos try to assure fans that the high-pitched puppet is "bigger than one man." (Snip) Clash admitted to TMZ he and the individual had sex, but only after he was above the age of consent. "I had a relationship with [the accuser]," Clash said. "It was between two consenting adults and I am deeply saddened that he is trying to make it into something it was not." The popular children´s show acknowledged the relationship and their involvement

I thought I read somewhere awhile back that SS was going gay in some fashion. Not that there´s anything wrong with that. I always hated that show.

Maybe he can get a cell next to Sandusky.

Why is sex between a 45 year old and a 17 year old different than sex with a 16 year old ? It´s inappropiate at either age. Any word from the parents ?

The White House has released a photograph of President Obama skeet shooting at Camp David -- some proof for critics skeptical about whether Obama, amid efforts to tighten gun control, saying he takes target practice at the presidential retreat and that he has a “profound respect” of the tradition of hunting. You know a European country is in trouble when its business leaders complain about government spending and taxes. (Snip) Nearly 100 French CEOs, among them the heads of Accor, the hotel chain, Air France, Carrefour, L´Oréal, Peugot, Siemens, SociétéGénerale and Veolia, the giant waste and water utility, are urging socialist President Francois Hollande to reduce government spending by 60 billion euros (about $76 billion) over the next five years, and reduce payroll taxes by 30 billion euros over the next two years. The cost of government, they say, has reached “the limits of what is bearable.”

With new cybersecurity legislation failing to pass the Senate this week, expectations are growing that the White House will soon step in with an executive order to shore up cyberdefenses for the power grid, water purification, and other vital systems. White House officials have said that while the president prefers a broad legislative solution, the executive branch would have to act this year if Congress did not. A document purporting to be a leaked draft of the executive order has been on the Internet since September.

The one-time head of the U.S. Africa Command was demoted Tuesday and ordered to repay $82,000 for unauthorized spending on extravagant trips and other expenses. The move by Defense Secretary Leon Panetta means Gen. William “Kip” Ward will lose one star and retire as a three-star lieutenant general, according to The Associated Press. The demotion is just the latest bit of general misbehavior following the resignation of ex-Army Gen. David Petraeus for an adulterous affair, and reports that Marine Gen. John Allen is under investigation for his “flirtatious” exchanges with the whistleblower in the Petraeus case.

President Obama´s biggest gaffe yesterday when speaking of California Attorney General Kamala Harris was not in flirtatiously complimenting her as "the best-looking attorney general," but in introducing an observation from the system of beauty into a forum that was about the system of power. What´s that, you say? Irin Carmon does a great job in Salon in laying out the bounds of propriety for when it´s appropriate to talk about a woman´s looks as a general matter. But I´ve long felt we lack a solid theoretical underpinning for easily discussing these issues, and why precisely it is that

But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank
