Sure wish we could send all our telephone sanitizes, middle managers, and marketing consultants to some other planet like Douglas Adams did.
If I were Chevron I would think long and hard about even rebuilding the refinery. There are probably a lot better places to put that money.

The EPA approach is to keep facilities outdated and inefficient until they finally must be improved. Then they require a hugely more expensive plant. CA follows these guidelines slavishly. TX takes a different approach and allows plants to expand in improve as long as the combined facility release significantly less pollution per kilogram of output. Believe me, if the refinery wasn´t already grandfathered, it wouldn´t be built in CA.

I am familiar with this area. The people of Richmond flock to the ER whenever there is a fire at this refinery. They are not seeking treatment as much as a payday with the help of slip and fall lawyers. Many of the communities in this area were built after the refinery was already thee so it isn`t as if they didn`t know what they were getting into. Accidents happen. Deal with it. We had a huge accident on November 6th that we all need to deal with and we can`t sue over it....

Trenton, N.J. — A new report shows New Jersey´s county jails are clogged with people who can´t afford to post their often-nominal bail. The report to be released Monday by the Drug Policy Alliance shows 4 out of 10 county jail inmates have been granted bail but can´t afford to post it. The report, which analyzes the state´s jail population, finds up to 1,500 people could secure their release pending trial with $2,500 or less. Kathleen Sausa, 42, told borough officials in early 2011 that she was pregnant with twins, according to the lawsuit she filed Monday in Superior Court. Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”
