| It´s such a cliché. A powerful man, away from home for years at a time, in jobs that put him under enormous emotional strain. A younger woman, attached to him by her job, spending endless hours with him on and off duty. That they fell into a love affair is so ordinary as to be boring. What makes the sudden fall of CIA Director David H. Petraeus different? Nothing, really, except perhaps the timing of his defenestration, and even that is only mildly suspicious. Petraeus had almost disappeared from sight after his move to the CIA last year.

A number of interesting things come out there, among them the information that Petraeus was being passed over for Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, and that HE was the one who suggested he head up the CIA.

You know....the irony of the Bengazi "investigation" is that no matter what are determined to be the facts around the attack(and of course, we all know that the investigation was completed within 8 or 10 days of Sept. 11), can we now really trust the government....or the media....to tell we the people the true and real story? Petraeus was speaking at Harvard, she was in the audience, he gave her his card, and told her to call him. And she probably smiled, breathed deeply, thrust her breasta at him...and the romance novel began.
Then the lebanese babe horned in on Paula´s territory, and Paula lost it.

That speech is from an intelligent and capable woman who got caught up in the grasp of lust. The life of a warrior and the separation from family and friends for months and years at a time takes its toll.
What a tragedy for her and her family and their hopes for the future. What a loss, hopefully temporary for a woman who can be a real asset to this country.
There are going to be horrible hits on her and Petraeus on this thread and others, and rightfully so. At these levels of security it is not tolerable, but in the overall view of humanity it is understandable. And the women who constantly lambast the men/horndogs gotta remember there´s very often a woman involved if not flaunting their wares. And that´s not to excuse.

It´s not the affair .... its the timing and the testimony. As many who know how things are done, this is something that had to have been known many months ago. Long before Bengazi. He came out with the statement that it was the video too soon, but then later made sure that it was known that no one at CIA ever turned down request for help.. I thought at the time it was kind of a convoluted statement, but now I can see it clearer.
Obama (or his handlers)stalled out the story till after the election but held this affair over his head for hopes he would be discredited. And so far its working. Shame on folks for falling for it!

A country that stakes its future on lies will not have one. The fashionable lie of the moment is “gay marriage.” The push to deprive children of mothers and fathers for the sake of “genderless” marriage has never been stronger. The media propaganda about its “inevitability” is unremitting. One would think, judging by all the triumphant rhetoric heard this week, that over 30 states had approved it. In fact, over 30 states have banned it. According to the Washington Post, which just a few weeks ago was categorizing Christians as racists, the issue is all settled and done.

This may sound odd coming from someone who has spent his life working in political reporting, but I find it extremely sad when people can’t separate politics from the rest of their lives. I’m not talking about people getting worked up about politicians; we live in divided times, so things are bound to get heated when talking about elected officials. I’m talking about people who say “I want nothing to do with [Person X] because he is a conservative/liberal/Republican/Democrat in his personal life.” This is why I find the Orson Scott Card thing so frustrating.

Last week, President Obama told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos that “we don’t have an immediate crisis in terms of debt.” It was par for the course (after all, he is almost always golfing) for the nation’s chief executive who just last year did not know the amount of our nation’s debt and made the preposterously naive statement that “a lot of it we owe to ourselves.” Apparently, our coming debt crisis is the only one Democrats do want to go to waste.

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. It´s the spongy complex of proteins, found naturally in wheat, rye, and barley, that gives elasticity to dough and allows it to rise. When flour is moistened and either kneaded or mixed into dough, gluten molecules form an elastic, microscopic latticework that traps the carbon dioxide produced when yeast ferments, causing dough to inflate like a hot air balloon. Newtown killer Adam Lanza may have launched his murder spree at Sandy Hook Elementary School as an “act of revenge,” the Daily News has learned.
