Jerry Brown: California tax vote
start of national tax hike sweep

Sacramento Bee [CA], by David Siders

Gov. Jerry Brown said in a television interview this morning that passage of his initiative to raise taxes has national implications, with California at the start of a broader movement to increase taxes on the rich. "Revenue means taxes, and certainly those who have been blessed the most, who have disproportionately extracted, by whatever skill, more and more from the national wealth, they´re going to have to share more of that," Brown said in a taped interview on CNN´s State of the Union with Candy Crowley. "And everyone is going to have to realize

Comments:
If you have disproportionately extracted from the national wealth (his words) you must share more of it. He should change his name from Brown to Red.

And no amount of history or experience that raising taxes suppresses growth will deter these "redistributors" from their mission!

The rest of us must pull a Willy Wonka: "stop, wait, come back..." to which none of them will listen.

Jerry Brown never worked in any private job. His father was well off so Brown never had to worry about money.

So does this mean that Hollywooders will move out of the state? It would be interesting to see how many use addresses in other states.

Of course. Class warfare has prevailed, maybe. There are more takers than earners in CA. The majority is in favor of wealth redistribution. The sales tax increase will affect all, so it can not be avoided. But, the increased income taxes could bring negative results. Many high dollar earners are able to relocate outside CA and take their high incomes with them. Then, Moonbeam and the takers will get NONE of their income, instead of the current amount. If enough people do this, CA will have a net loss of revenue.

Who will be over-taxed next?

Check this out, Moonbeam; I didn´t "extract" anything. I earned it. I´d add that I make more because I´m very good at my job after years spent learning it. I left your pathetic state as a young man seven years ago. I wanted to raise a family and didn´t want to fight your stupid laws and thieving tax code every step of the way. You get no taxes off of what is now a pretty handsome income.

I will be "going Galt" in the next 10 years (if we make it that long), and then you get nothing. I will relocate to a red state, pay cash, and shake my head as I watch your collapse from a distance.

Take it from Gov. Moonbeam. Can you say detached from reality? The state is bankrupt. Property values are falling and more and more legal residents are moving to Colorado and elsewhere every year. And that´s the good news. At least three cities have declared bankruptcy. With many more to come.

The whacked out thing is that idiots like Jerry Brown think that earned income (salary) of 60,000/yr is "disproportionately blessed". Of course the cost of living in California is already one of the highest in the country. Stupid is as stupid does. I hope he sees a huge reduction of revenues (a la Laffer).

#17, come on over here to the Old Dominion. We got plenty of room and a good solid conservative governor, Bob McDonnell. Unfortunately, somehow the electorate chose a complete idiot Tim Kaine as Senator, but we´ll have a chance to replace Mark Warner in 2014. I retired from the military here vs my home state of NJ and have been very happy.

This is a scary trend, though, but I think Moonbeam overstates the case. Calif is a state of unparalleled natural beauty, but with idiots in power there for years, it is going broke and broker.

Malaysia and Indonesia have banned the biblical epic Noah, joining other Muslim nations in vetoing the Hollywood movie because of its visual depiction of the prophet. Demonstrators stormed a provincial administration building in eastern Ukraine on Sunday and raised the Russian flag atop it, demanding the release of riot police accused of killing protesters in Kiev, the Ukrainian capital, in February. A new movie, “Fight Church,” raises the unusual question: “Can you love your neighbor while kneeing him in the face?” The documentary, by directors Daniel Junge and Bryan Storkel, is about pastors who practice mixed martial arts with their parishioners. “Tough guys need Jesus, too,” one parishioner explained in the trailer for the film. The controversial topic is raising eyebrows because Jesus obviously preached nonviolence and turning the other cheek. But Pastor Paul Burress, featured in the movie, defends his unlikely evangelization techniques. “We don’t fight out of meanness,” Burress of Trinity Church in Rochester, N.Y., told ABC News. “We
