Bill Kristol Caves on Higher Taxes
Breitbart Big Government, by Joel B. Pollak

Original Article

“I think Republicans will have to give in much more than they think. He won re-election... "Elections have consequences... The leadership in the Republican Party and the leadership in the conservative movement has to pull back, let people float new ideas. Let’s have a serious debate. Don’t scream and yell when one person says, ´You know what? It won’t kill the country if we raise taxes a little bit on millionaires.´ It really won’t, I don’t think. I don’t really understand why Republicans don’t take Obama’s offer to freeze taxes for everyone below $250,000.

I Swear these people just dont remember what happens when we raise taxes. They never really quit spending. Only real way to force them to have a budget is to refuse to raise the debt limit and not let them borrow anymore money. Or give them a 3month extension with a 75billion debt ceiling increase. 4 x 75 is 300billion in one year. That would be a respectable deficit for the first year of President Obama´s 2nd term. So what if the president threatens to drive us all over the cliff. If we dont agree to blow brains out, he will spend a Trillion or more than we take in forever. We can go over the cliff sooner or later. Sooner means we will owe less money to the Chicoms.

Has Kristol ever run a business?

Every tax increase has consequences. When the cost of Obamacare is included, the result is reduced hours & layoffs for worker, reduced bottom line and no investment funds available.

Result will be businesses shrinking and closing.

This is when I am so glad that what these joker pundits have to say makes so little difference - to me and to a fair amount of the country who don´t even have a clue as to who they are.

Kristol´s as full of himself as Obie is.

If you raise taxes say 300 billion, then they will raise spending 600 billion and say its and emergency. The only way you would ever agree to a tax increase of any kind is if we had at least a full year of huge spending cuts that really took place. It´s like amnesty. No consideration of any such thing until the border is totally shut down.

Our government is like crackheads...except they like money instead of meth. They will only stop when the Chicoms refuse to lend anymore money. Then the new way of doing business will begin.

Reply 11 - Posted by: FormerDem, 11/11/2012 8:16:27 PM     (No. 9007992)

Well, Obama´s ploy may succeed, but since you ask, Mr. Kristol, the issue is that the Dems cannot win without splitting the party, and we have to assume they are trying, which provides some insight into the WH insistence that GOP House members break ironclad promises made to the electorate. Then they can be painted as weak, and a third party can lift off and split the GOP, allowing the Dems to take the House in two years. Do Not Disappoint the Base. Stop It. It is a LOSING idea.

Tax the richer people in our country to pay down the deficit???!!! Some economists believe that MAY help in the short term—but will have virtually no effect in the long term. Why is that? It would seem to be a simple mathematical solution?

I believe it is legalized stealing. Of course we are to pay our taxes and support our leaders, but when the policies and programs violate God’s expressed will, we should recognize the programs for what they are—a violation of the 8th Commandment – “You shall not steal.”

So what’s wrong with taking more money from some fat-cat people? They’ve got plenty-----they’ll never miss it. But we ought not to violate our conscience, which should be dictated by Spiritual guidance and biblical principles.

Listen ….. voting for a tax rate on others that we do not vote for ourselves is the same as stealing from our neighbor. It violates God’s law. Asking the state to stick its hands in another’s pockets for our benefit…….. is no better than doing it ourselves.

The surrender continues at an accelerated pace. Where is it written the loyal opposition has to join in the collective suicide? They own it. It´s happening at a furious pace of regulations and fiats. This was not the normal ebb and flow of politics. Our nation is in the hands of fascists and statists. They do not negotiate. They dictate. Does any rational being think that after a lifetime of Marxist ideaology Obama will suddenly morph into some Mt. Rushmore saint? He wouldn´t lower himself to share a mountain with those he hates. Well, maybe not such a bad idea after all. Glenn Reynolds at Instapundit writes about repealing the "Hollywood Tax Cuts". Use Alinsky´s "Rules for Radicals" against them -- make the Dems live up to their own rhetoric. Tax Obama´s "millionaires and billionaires" like Bill Maher, Jon Stewart, John F´ng Kerry, Nancy Pelosi -- target them and see how they will dodge the bullet. Kerry´s income is from tax-free municipal bonds -- make them tax free up to $10M. See what happens -- the Democrats are the wealthy party, not the Republicans.

Let´s call Obama´s bluff and raise taxes " a little bit " on millionaires and see what happens.

How dare Mr. Bill suggest - if he has- that the hiring class should pay higher taxes when 47% of the population pay no income taxes at all?

How about requiring everyone in the country to pay at least $100.00 a yearin income tax and listen to the screams? That would cut down somewhat on the grease spots in the parking lots of video rental stores.

Kristol needs to be reminded that Boehner and more than 218 republicans won seats in the House of Representatives on election day too.

If the GOP feels the need to cave on taxes then how about only raising them for 2 years - to expire one week before the 2014 election. We should have a good idea by then whether these cretins wasted the money or spent it wisely.

Bill Kristol, ´´Caves?´´ ...OK now to raise taxes?

When will unprincipled Rinos EVER stop joining the socialist dems´ urge to reward failure by punishing success? Hard work and personal merit play vital roles to our personal freedom and thus to the USA. The Founders knew this principle, as has every generation of Americans since the country´s founding.

Are the aging but still vocal radicalized activist ´60s & ´70s lefty/lib/statist pols, their perverted lsm/media and unionized academia simply frittering away the next generations´ liberty, strangling the life out of freedom and any hopes of personal achievement & success in the USA? Is the new mantra now to be, ´Don´t be the best that YOU can be?!!´ ...Take a number & wait, ´´unit?´´

We know what, ´´success,´´ has meant and still means in the lives & ´Pursuit of Happiness,´ of most Americans and to this country, the beacon of Liberty on the planet, but now the actual meaning of, ´´success,´´ to the dems & Rinos will surface for all to see through the radical policies they legislate AND regulate next.
...Socialism FAILS every time it is tried! The proof is in the pudding.

#12, First of all, Kristol does NOT represent the Republican party. Second, there is a HUGE difference between the parties...the party PRINCIPLES. Politicians in office do not necessarily represent the party either. We just have to stop letting our candidates be chosen for us. And we need to stop voting in the same corrupt, career politicians.

That said, Kristol is an idiot. Why $250K? Such an arbitrary cut off that takes nothing into account. What if it is a chapter S? What if the family is big and has lots of expenses? What if the people live in expensive states like CA, NY, etc.? I am getting sick. I got a raise after 5 years finally and because of taxes, I only see half of it and I certainly don´t make anywhere near $250K!! Any tax increases will affect us lower earners...believe me. It won´t stop at $250k. We already know that.

The radical interpretation is that she thinks parents should have less say over how their children are raised and that “communities” should have a larger role. The very, very banal interpretation is that she thinks communities should do more to improve children’s lives and that thinking of them as “our children” might help forge that mentality. The money line in the promo that pointed to the radical interpretation

Not only did she turn around—decisively—the British economy in the 1980s, she also saw her methods copied in more than 50 countries. The group says it will "soon have some impressive new weapons at its disposal to combat those who gun down deer and doves" and that it is "shopping for one or more drone aircraft with which to monitor those who are out in the woods with death on their minds."
