The Monday morning quarterbacking has already begun over the makeup of the Republican Party. Brace yourself for calls to “moderate” or become more “inclusive” and endless explanations for why the GOP lost one demographic or another. Make no mistake: President Obama’s reelection was a victory for a campaign, not a candidate. (Snip) The president won, not based on the strength of his record (weak), his agenda (more of the same), or because of the shifting priorities of a nation (jobs and the economy are still number one). He won because of the misallocation of resources by Republican donors
Comments: Dems are much better at dragging their voters to the polls, even if they are kicking and screaming.
Bull! No one will ever convince me that this election wasn´t stolen. Look at the numbers in Pt. St. Lucie and Philly. Lets face it folks, we are dealing with an evil regime that will never give up power. Oh, by the way, it helps when you have 95% of the national media covering you ass.
St. Lucie County, FL vote counts over 100% of registered voters at every polling place..in one instance, 162% of registered voters cast a ballot. The democrats can and will fix elections. Obama cheated his way in because he couldn´t win honestly.
What post 3 said. Plus the GOP is fractionalized. Rinos like Christie cause friction, but conservatives are well advised to back off rinos at least in short term, as guys like like Christie and Scott Brown are as good as it can ever get in places like NJ and MA. Furthermore the rejection of Lugar and nomination of idealogues in Indiana and Missouri clearly cost us 2 senate seats. Although the tea party did us some good, it needs to be reigned in.
You all said it for me....massive voter fraud. Ulsterman has a video of a man testifying under oath how elections could be stolen and no one would ever know. No doubt in my mind this is what happened. The numbers don´t add up, and the crowds showing up at campaign stops don´t add up. RR packed the house, ob played to 1/2 filled venues. Something really stinks here, electronic voting needs to go. WAY too easy to mess with. And mess they did. IMHO.
The election was "won" because the Democrats concentrated their "efforts" on ghetto inner city polls where there are no Republican poll watchers or the ones that do go,like I did in inner city Cleveland are thrown out for nothing. That way the poll workers who are paid and the Democratic "observers" are free to pack the ballot box by helping people vote which I witnessed. I called the Romney legal department all day but really don´t blame them it was so widespread. The Dems have figured out every Presidential election is won in the 11 swing states, start screaming in July about how not extending early voting is racist which is another great way to harvest votes using names on the voter list and getting someone to vote for that person. I believe they calculate how many votes it will take to carry the swing states and start stepping. Until more Republicans are willing to poll watch in the ghetto in the swing states I don´t see a Republican president again.
I agree #9. The GOP is simply out of the loop. The Dems are smarter, faster and more conniving. Of course, it helps to have the MSM in your back pocket. I too can not see a republican in the WH again. It`s like trying to climb a mountain with no equipment. When hard work is frowned upon and free stuff becomes the norm all is lost.
In a way it is funny - all the snickering by the dims about winning big - THEY forget that they have to live under old flapears reign too. He is stupid beyond belief and is surrounded by crooks just as stupid. The dims will turn on him in a minute if they do not get their freebies and pats on the head. Frankly, I agree with others that he did not win at all. We will all suffer for the mistakes made at the polls.
Guys, STOP with the BS about conservatives "not getting out there" or "off message" or we had a "weak, non-conservative candidate"or "real conservatives didn´t vote".
We lost because we have a tipping point of producers and takers; couple that with blacks voting the race line and latinos voting for who they think will give them amnesty and freebies, along with of course women voting with their sex organs, and you have a win.
Why is that so hard to accept? Some of you sound like you just got beaten up by the bully, so let´s analyze what we did wrong and appease the bully next time? The problem is the bully, not your "message".
You don´t like it? Yell at your neighbor. They´re the ones that pulled the lever to put this guy back into office. Attend no concert, no movie, nothing put out their by liberals. Really want to pi$$ them off? Love your kids and go to church. Win in spite of the government, not because of it.
And most of all, put the blame where it belongs. Everything else is BS to fill space and air time.
After World War I, the German people came to believe the "stab in the back" myth, which went like this: "We didn´t lose the war. We were on the verge of victory when opportunistic politicians stabbed our military leaders in the back by negotiating an unnecessary armistice and betraying their country." Although false, the myth was widely promoted by self-serving Generals and believed by the German people. This myth polluted German culture for a generation and doomed any effort to base German politics on reality in the inter-war years.
I do not deny that Democrats cheat; I do find it implausible that their cheating concealed a massive Romney victory. For months polls showed Mitt losing in the swing states. The Romney Campaign ran on the assumption that these polls, based on 2008, were incorrect. Everything Team Romney did wrong was based on the delusion that they were secretly winning. And then they bungled the Get Out The Vote operation. In reality, Romney got fewer votes than McCain. The Romney Campaign literally had no campaign slogan. Look at the posters. No message on the air, and a mess on the ground. The only good thing about mistakes is you can learn from them. If you´re smart.
#3: I agree with you. If the Republicans can´t attack fraud immediately and get a fair election up in four years then ground game won´t matter. This election was absolutely stolen. CO had ten counties with more than 100% voter participation that went 100% for Obama. Philly had similar. FL had it, and I don´t doubt VA had it as well. OH definitely had it. Those were states Romney could have (and should have) won and that would have won the election. Very shady stuff.
It will take a massive effort to clean up our elections. The UN, of all people, actually handed us a good weapon in their shock at our loose election standards. Take it and clean this mess up.
I noticed that the Romney people were wasting a lot of time and money in contacting, over and over again, the same supporters.
I have been a Romney contributor since 2008. They had to have known that I was a sure vote. I got tons of emails from them, phone calls for contributions and phone calls to urge me to vote. All of that was wasted. They should not have spent one second of their time on me.
Close to 8 million voter abandoned 0bama this time. Romney couldn´t field one single one of them. Instead lost 3 million that turned up for McCain. That is pathetic. 23% of an all adult poll (roughly 210 million) identified themselves as Tea Party members or supporters. That is a staggering 48 million people. If the Leadership hadn´t spent two years busily alienating these people none of this would have happened.
This doesn´t make or break the Republican party nor conservatives. There are a lot of states that have picked up Republican/Conservative majorities and don´t forget the governorships. Local and state offices are now Republican so it starts locally.
I beg to differ! 3+ million Republicans decided to stay home and not vote. Its not the candidates responsibility to get your sorry fat behind to the polls...it´s YOURS.
To the millions of so called Republicans, congratulations.......you sold out the country, it´s veterans and fellow patriots for "principle". Congratulations!
The only people that irritate me more than stupid Obama voters are republicans that cant pull the lever for a Mormon......or for a candidate that isn´t conservative enough for them. Followed by the libertarians who threw away their vote for legalized pot and and end to an alliance with Israel.
CONGRATULATIONS!!! Now we are forever stuck with an ever expanding welfare state. I dont ever again want to hear from these jackasses who complain about RINO´s and didnt vote.
The Repubs didn´t lose because of a "misallocation of resources by Republican donors". They lost because of a population of young women and college students who know about as little as anybody, under-ducated, underemployed and undermotivated people who wanted cell phones, etc. (These shall be known as career Democratic voters),closet Mormon haters, klunks who stayed at home (you knows who you is),and half fast jackasses who voted for third party candidates, such as Bugs Bunny. Truly, we are at the mercy of knaves and idiots.
Additional moral: If you don´t vote and they do, they will win. I don´t want to hear any whinin´ from ya.
What 15 said. Curious if the Ron Paul voters showed. There were evangelicals that had a problem with Romney. Lots of true conservatives wouldn´t vote for what they saw as a moderate candidate. Is it true that 20 million pubbies stayed at home? My gut feeling is no Washington politician is going to fix things. It will take a grass root movement.
We are always going to be behind the 8 ball when we have a corrupt media. I´m sure you all have noticed that FEMA´s pathetic response to Hurricane Sandy has not been scrutinized, nor Obama blamed. We have only heard about how the hurricane helped him win reelection. Gov. Cuomo actually lauded FEMA´s response and he has received no criticism that I know of. Joe Biden can say the stupidest things and it´s just Joe being Joe. I know it is pointless to whine about it, but it is the truth. I remember when a friend´s son was forced into a divorce by an adulterous spouse. The young man was heartbroken and depressed and my friend told me he knew his son wouldn´t start healing until he got angry. He finally did and then he got over it. We are like that young man. We are lied about (Republicans hate immigrants) laughed at, marginalized and we just take it. Our leaders continue to be polite and wait their turn. They never call their opponents liars. At some point they and we will have to find our righteous indignance and fight back every time we´re attacked.
One thing is for sure the wimpy Republicans are not going to win future elections by becoming the Democrat Light Party and handing the liberal Democrats many millions of prospective new foreign born socialist oriented voters by way of a massive amnesty for illegal aliens. That´s just good common sense.
To make it worse, I was told by a Mormon yesterday not to think all Mormons voted for Romney either. She had been telling me at various times last year that more Mormons are liberal-minded in her stake than I might ever believe. So, there is plenty of blame to go round.
PARIS — For decades, Europeans have agonized over the power and role of Germany — the so-called German question — given its importance to European stability and prosperity. Today, however, Europe is talking about “the French question”: can the Socialist government of President François Hollande pull France out of its slow decline and prevent it from slipping permanently into Europe’s second tier? At stake is whether a social democratic system that for decades prided itself on being the model for providing a stable and high standard of living for its citizens can survive the combination of globalization, an aging population
In gender-equality Sweden, a grassroots movement defending women´s right to wear hijab has split the nation, backed by politicians and celebrities while critics say it supports a symbol of female "oppression". Hundreds of Swedish women have posted photographs of themselves wearing headscarves on social media sites to show solidarity with a heavily pregnant Muslim woman who says she was attacked outside Stockholm for wearing a veil. Police are searching for witnesses to the incident, which is being treated as a hate crime, and has sparked a wave of online protest. Leftist politicians and celebrities were among those who lent their
WASHINGTON — Nearly five years into his presidency, Barack Obama confronts a world far different from what he envisioned when he first took office. U.S. influence is declining in the Middle East as violence and instability rock Arab countries. An ambitious attempt to reset U.S. relations with Russia faltered and failed. Even in Obama-friendly Europe, there´s deep skepticism about Washington´s government surveillance programs. In some cases, the current climate has been driven by factors outside the White House´s control. But missteps by the president also are to blame, say foreign policy analysts, including some who worked for the Obama administration.
A 26-year-old birthday party goer has been snatched by a 5-meter 16-foot crocodile while swimming in a notorious habitat of the dangerous reptiles, police said on Sunday. The man, whose name has not been released, was celebrating a friend´s 30th birthday on Saturday at the Mary River Wilderness Retreat, an Outback tourist destination 70 miles southeast of the Northern Territory capital Darwin, the victim´s hometown, Senior Sergeant Geoff Bahnert said. The victim and another man had gone swimming across the river. The pair were swimming back when the crocodile attacked, he said. "Several of the group in the party witnessed
Spectacular songbird Linda Ronstadt disclosed Friday that she has Parkinson’s disease and the illness has already robbed her of her ability to sing. The 67-year-old “Hurt So Bad” songstress, whose vocal range spanned the octaves from contralto to soprano, discussed her disease with AARP magazine in an interview. The 11-time Grammy Award winner’s memoir, “Simple Dreams,” is slated to be published next month. “No one can sing with Parkinson’s disease,” Ronstadt said. “No matter how hard you try.” Ronstadt, who churned out hits during the 1970s and ‘80s, including
Marsha Jones Shoushtari went back to work on Tuesday, two weeks after her youngest child, her only son, died after being shot on Crenshaw Boulevard. But she can´t escape the unfinished business that homicides entail. On Tuesday, police visited her office to return her son´s cellphone, the "effects" of an 18-year-old. On Wednesday, she and husband Manochehr visited the cemetery to arrange for their son´s burial; the coroner had just released the body. Through it all, some part of her is trying to believe this might not be real.
WASHINGTON - The estate of pop music legend Michael Jackson owes $702 million in federal taxes and penalties, the Internal Revenue Service charged in U.S. Tax Court, accusing the estate of undervaluing some of the star´s assets by hundreds of millions of dollars. The dollar amounts in dispute had not been previously disclosed in the court challenge that the Jackson estate filed in July to a bill from the IRS, the U.S. tax-collecting agency. At issue is the wide difference between what the estate said Jackson´s legacy was worth versus what the IRS determined was its taxable value. An IRS
With just 38 days to go before the opening of Obamacare insurance exchanges, public ignorance about those marketplaces remains sky-high, threatening the very goal of offering affordable health care to the uninsured, several studies show. (Snip) Perhaps most alarming is the number of young adults who appear particularly clueless about the Affordable Care Act exchanges that are due to open Oct. 1 and begin coverage on Jan. 1. A whopping 73 percent of adults between the ages of 19 and 29 are unaware of the marketplaces, a separate Commonwealth Fund study this week found.
The attorney who helped murder defendant George Zimmerman win a controversial acquittal last month was frustrated to learn his client toured a gun factory on Thursday. According to TMZ, the former neighborhood crime watchman visited Kel-Tec firearms, the company that manufactured the semi-automatic handgun Zimmerman used in the fatal confrontation with Trayvon Martin. “We certainly would not have advised him to go to the factory that made the gun that he used to shoot Trayvon Martin through the heart,” Shawn Vincent, a spokesman for attorney Mark O’Mara, told Yahoo News.
Police have released surveillance video with the hopes that someone will recognize two men apparently posing as Mormon missionaries who pulled out a gun instead of a bible before robbing a couple´s home in Las Vegas. The robbery took place at about 6 a.m. June 27 when Ida and Terence Delucia say the young men knocked on their door. "They said we´d like to talk to you about Jesus Christ and they handed me a pamphlet," Terence Delucia said. These so-called men of God were far from holy, says Delucia, who was attacked at his doorstep. "When I handed the pamphlet
BUFFALO, N.Y. — Calling higher education an "economic imperative," President Barack Obama is pushing for an ambitious new government rating system for colleges that would judge schools on affordability and performance and ultimately determine how federal financial aid is distributed. The rating system, which the president wants implemented before the 2015 school year, would evaluate colleges on several criteria, including average tuition and student loan debt, graduation rates, and the average earning of graduates. Obama says he will ask Congress to link the new rating system to the way federal financial aid is disbursed, with students attending highly-rated schools receiving
TOPEKA, Kan. - After being sentenced to 35 years in prison for leaking classified documents to the anti-secrecy website WikiLeaks, Pfc. Bradley Manning is headed for hard time at Fort Leavenworth, home to the American military´s most famous prison. The Army penitentiary has shed its once-imposing stone edifice, but inside Manning would confront a dreary, unchanging environment where inmates are highly restricted, graveyard work shifts are common and jobs pay just pennies per hour. The judge did not say where Manning would serve his time, but his attorney David Coombs confirmed he was going there. Manning already has spent time
On Saturday, Martin Luther King III, son of the civil rights icon, used a rally that honored the 50th anniversary of the Reverend Doctor´s "I Have a Dream" to politicize and inject race into the tragic death of Trayvon Martin, asserting he was killed because of the color of his skin. "Sadly, the tears of Trayvon Martin´s mother and father remind us that far too frequently the color of one´s skin remains a license to profile, arrest, and to even murder with no regard to the content of one´s character," Martin Luther King III declared. "Regressive ´stand your ground´ laws must
I’m sure by now you’ve heard of the “Million Muslim March” planned in Washington D.C. on 9/11. If you haven’t, you can watch the group’s organizer refusing to denounce hateful groups like the Muslim Brotherhood here. Now in response to the march, a bunch of bikers are planning their own party in DC on 9/11…with two million people. Thousands of America’s patriotic bikers are organizing an enormous counter protest to the planned Million Muslim March on DC this Sept. 11. The Facebook Page, “2 Million Bikers to DC,” has over 18 thousand “likes,” as of Thursday morning and individual state chapters of riders
From bad to gross? A potential candidate to succeed disgraced San Diego mayor Bob Filner has been caught openly masturbating in restrooms on multiple occasions, according to investigative site VoiceOfOC.org.When Carl DeMaio, one of the leading Republican candidates to replace alleged serial sexual harasser Filner, was in the City Council, he would allegedly leave the dais during meetings to m*******te in a men’s room, former City Council president Ben Hueso said. Hueso, now a Democratic state senator, said he witnessed DeMaio in the act twice, but others suspect his inappropriate
Former Secretary of State Colin Powell says the jury verdict that freed the killer of Florida teenager Trayvon Martin was "questionable." But he isn´t sure it will have staying power in the public consciousness. Speaking on CBS´s Face the Nation, Powell said cases like Martin´s "blaze across the midnight sky" and are forgotten. The first black chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and first black secretary of state, Powell says America has come a long way toward racial equality 50 years after Martin Luther King Jr.´s "I Have a Dream" speech. Powell recalled being refused service when trying to
For good reason, the bar for what makes us consider someone crazy in politics is getting higher all the time. As I’ve said, if you think Wall Street is rigged, the government is spying on you and that if you get out of line the Internal Revenue Service will come after you, you’re not considered a nut anymore.(Snip)The bothersome reality is that President Obama is inventing new laws, selectively choosing to enforce laws he likes and ignoring or amending the ones he doesn’t. Many writers, from George Will to Jeffrey Anderson to Charles Krauthammer have written about the president’s increasing
In a statement released this morning, Senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham call for the U.S. to "take limited military actions in Syria." “Recent reports and information from Syria lend additional credibility to what has been clear since last week: Assad and his forces have once again used chemical weapons against civilians in Syria and are, in fact, escalating their use. Their recent massacre of hundreds of men, women, and children around Damascus clearly constitutes the commission of a war crime, and it is the responsibility of civilized nations everywhere to ensure that those responsible are held accountable," the statement reads. “Now
On Thursday, November 21, 1963, a wealthy Dallas businessman was throwing a party. His name was Clint Murchison and he was big in the oil business, with additional interests in banking and publishing. His influential guest list included Richard Nixon, in Dallas on business for his clients the Coca Cola Company. Oil billionaire HL Hunt was also present along with Senator John Tower, Chase Manhattan banker John McCloy and Murchison’s particular friend, FBI director J Edgar Hoover. Into the gathering strode Vice President Lyndon B Johnson, accompanied by his Dallas mistress Madeleine Brown. He had left President Kennedy and those
The far right has gotten into a dangerous habit (well, many habits but we’ll focus on one for now). Those who claim to be guardians of conservative purity assume what they advocate is popular. Therefore, the explanations for failing to get what they want must be betrayal or cowardice by their party, lies by the media, or inarticulateness. They imagine if they speak in shrill tones and hammer the same message over and over again they will prevail — provided of course they are not betrayed, undermined and hobbled by their own elected leaders and the devious vast left-wing conspiracy.
WEST MELBOURNE -- Investigators say a Brevard County pizza delivery man took action into his own hands -- shooting and killing a would-be robber. Investigators said Byron Park, a Domino´s employee, had just delivered a pizza to one of the rooms at the Days Inn off US-192 near Interstate 95. Park, 54, went back to his car, sat down and starting counting his money and tip, waiting for his next call for a delivery. That’s when investigators said 32-year-old Fredrick Kelly Jr. approached him with a knife, demanding money and threatening to kill him. Park pulled out his firearm and fired once toward Kelly,
An Australian baseball player who was allegedly shot and killed at random while he was jogging wasn´t targeted because of his race or nationality, the prosecutor in charge of the case has said. -Snip] ´At this point, the evidence does not support the theory that Christopher Lane was targeted based upon his race or nationality,´ District Attorney Jason Hicks said in a statement on Friday. Hicks acknowledged that social media posts allegedly made by some of the defendants are racial in nature, but he said ´the evidence is insufficient to establish that race was the primary motive´ in Lane´s slaying.
The day after thousands rallied to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.’s March on Washington, the National Mall looks like a trash dump. The grass from the Lincoln Memorial to the World War II Memorial is covered Sunday with empty soda cans, water bottles, boxed lunches, newspapers, a broken chair and rally signs. The Reflecting Pool also was filled with trash. Although the trash cans were full along the expanse, the attendees did not attempt to leave their garbage near the bins. Instead, they left everything on the grass where they stood. On Saturday, prominent Democrats such as Attorney General
Washington - U.S. intelligence officials are still trying to determine whether Syrian President Bashar Assad unleashed a deadly chemical weapons attack against his people earlier this week. That´s the word from the White House after President Barack Obama met with his national security team Saturday to discuss possible next steps in Syria. Officials have said Obama will decide how to respond once the facts are clear. A statement from the White House about Saturday´s meeting said Obama also received a detailed review of the range of options he has requested for the U.S. and its international
