The plot thickens: Petreaus mistress sent threatening emails

| I don´t know quite how to read this WaPo story about Paula Broadwell as a sort of femme fatale who sent threatening emails to a woman described as "close" to Petreaus. In one way, it´s self serving - an apparent effort by Petreaus partisans to salvage at least some of his reputation. But it also explains why the FBI got involved in the first place: The collapse of the impressive career of CIA Director David H. Petraeus was triggered when a woman with whom he was having an affair sent threatening e-mails to another woman close to him,

The plot sickens is more like it. Any person of ´honor´ who thinks he is serving his country by crawling in bed with this government has compromised his soul by the very act. It´s only a matter of degree.

I should have added that I am not referring to the brave men and women who serve and have served in our military. To them we owe our deep gratitude and a very Happy Veterans´ Day.

I guess it would be safe to assume that most here wouldn´t have much problem with the ad from MoveOn when they called him General Betrayus, now, huh?

I still don´t like the Moveon ad. and I still think it was out of line. I think there is more to this story that has not played out yet which may or may not turn out for the best. We will have to wait and see. The flesh is weak and Petraeus is only human. He fell and for that fall he is and will pay dearly. Yes, he should have acted sooner, before the election, but he didn´t, maybe because of his weakness as a human. What course he takes now will determine if he is a goat or a man of honor.

It sounds as if Eric Holder´s FBI is making a move to totally discredit General Petreaus as the man responsible for the murder of 4 Americans and worse. .... I hope he hid the blue dress very carefully.

What if Paula Broadwell herself is a potential whistleblower regarding Benghazi?

The woman in Florida Broadwell sent threatening emails to? The woman she suspected was moving in on her territory?
Debbie Wasserman Schultz.
I got that directly from the same confidential source who told Harry Reid that Mitt never paid income taxes.

PHILADELPHIA — Through four weeks, prosecutors have laid out evidence against Dr. Kermit Gosnell, a Philadelphia abortion provider on trial on charges of killing seven viable fetuses by “snipping” their necks with scissors and of causing the death of a pregnant 41-year-old woman during a procedure. The grisly details drew mainly local attention. But after an online furor that the case was being ignored by the national news media because of troubling accounts of late-term abortions, reporters from major newspapers and television networks descended Monday on the Court of Common Pleas. It was the latest example of

Former Obama advisers are now cashing in left and right, through a variety of corporate and advisory roles in the private sector, the New Republic’s Noam Scheiber reports. From the first lady’s former communications director now the vice president of Siemens corporate affairs, to individual consulting deals for Obama campaign operatives like Stephanie Cutter and David Plouffe, there is a new generation of “Obama millionaires.” For instance, Scheiber notes, former UBS president Robert Wolf has opened shop with a new firm called 32 Advisors, which advises domestic and foreign business clients: The firm opened its doors in February

WASHINGTON -A key senator says the unveiling of a sweeping immigration bill set for Tuesday could be delayed because of the tragedy at the Boston marathon. Republican Sen. John McCain of Arizona says the roll-out could happen Wednesday instead. The bill would secure the border, remake legal immigration, boost workplace enforcement and put 11 million people here illegally on a path to citizenship. Immigration activists and business and religious leaders had been invited to an event Tuesday to release the bill. It would be the culmination of months of closed-door meetings among four Democrats and four Republicans, including

The White House on Monday said that former Secretaries of State George Schultz and James Baker would lead the president´s delegation to former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher´s funeral. Schultz served under President Reagan, while Baker was White House chief of staff. Baker was later named Secretary of State during the George H.W. Bush administration. (Snip) Although reportedly invited, it does not appear that any former American presidents will attend the funeral. HARRISBURG - The name Department of Public Welfare was no doubt seen as an improvement when the state came up with it nearly a century ago, merging two older offices - the Board of Charities and the Committee on Lunacy. But now, 90 years later, Pennsylvania is one of just two states in the nation that still use the word welfare in the name of the massive agency that serves mainly the elderly, disabled, and children. Legislators, former state officials, and advocates for the more than two million residents who rely on the agency´s vast array of services say

This day in 1959, four months after leading a successful revolution in Cuba, Fidel Castro began an 11-day visit to the United States. His visit came at a time when tensions between his regime and the American government were rising steadily. Castro neither requested nor accepted an official government invitation for his trip to Washington and New York. Rather, he came at the invitation of what was then called the American Society of Newspaper Editors. During his stay, Castro placed a wreath on George Washington’s grave, toured the Bronx Zoo, ate hot dogs and hamburgers at Yankee Stadium and

Insurgents in Iraq deployed a series of car bombs as part of highly co-ordinated attacks that cut across a wide swath of the country today, killing at least 55 on the deadliest day in nearly a month. The assault bore the hallmarks of a resurgent al-Qaeda in Iraq and appeared aimed at sowing fear days before the first elections since U.S. troops withdrew. There was no immediate claim of responsibility, but coordinated attacks are a favourite tactic of al-Qaeda´s Iraq branch. Iraqi officials believe the insurgent group is growing stronger and increasingly co-ordinating with allies

Philadelphia Chief Medical Examiner Sam Gulino called the task "unprecedented." The job? Examining bag after bag of frozen fetuses removed from Kermit Gosnell´s West Philadelphia abortion clinic. "This was something that in 15 to 16 years . . . I had never been asked to do," Gulino told a Philadelphia jury today as Gosnell´s murder trial entered its fifth week. "There was no guidance on how to proceed," Gulino testified. And he asked. Gulino said fellow coroners and medical examiners and experts in forensic were as stumped as he.

Jan Crawford acknowledged that the Gosnell case "has received little national news coverage". Meanwhile, ABC and NBC´s morning and evening newscasts continued to ignore the ongoing legal proceedings against the abortionist. Crawford pointed out how conservatives "accused the media of ignoring the story because what it called a bias in favor of abortion rights", and how those "charges went viral on Twitter". In light of the explosions that have rocked Boston on Patriots’ Day, during the city’s annual marathon, NBC reporter Luke Russert took to Twitter to speculate that today’s horrific events could possibly be related to the 1993 government siege on the Branch Davidian compound in Waco, Texas — an incident often attached to conversations about “right-wing terrorism” and anti-government violence. “I was at Fenway Park w my dad and @mikebarnicle during Waco which was on Patriots Day in 1993. Since he first became a presidential candidate, President Obama must have spent millions of dollars in legal expenses to combat dozens of so-called "birther" challenges seeking the original documents pertaining to his birth. As president, he famously issued an electronic document on the White House website in 2011; the document purported to be his long-form birth certificate, though it is apparently a forgery. In addition, he has taken great pains to hide the paper trail of passport records, college transcripts, and other data -- all of which a prospective employer might require of a job applicant.

Here is something I don’t understand: liberals are often revealed as vile, vulgar hatemongers–not all of them, of course, but far too many–yet they never seem to pay a penalty at the polls. Why is that? Margaret Thatcher’s death has been the latest occasion for the Left to show its true stripes. All across the U.K., there have been demonstrations–vulgar at best, and violent at worst. In Bristol, lefties celebrating a Thatcher “death street party” started fires, destroyed property and battled police: This evening in Trafalgar Square, liberals have turned out for a long-planned celebration of Thatcher’s death:

Though President Obama himself had not been expected to attend, there had been speculation that he would be represented either by Vice President Joe Biden or wife Michelle. Is media bias to blame for lack of Gosnell coverage? Or something far more banal? The trial of Philadelphia doctor Kermit Gosnell would seem to have all the elements of a spectacular news story: shocking allegations, horrifying visuals, sympathetic victims. Yet until late last week, much of the national media was silent as testimony about Gosnell’s alleged “house of horrors” abortion clinic rolled out. Much of the media attention outside Philadelphia, in fact, centered on how little media attention the story was receiving outside Philadelphia.
