Obama: Voters agreed with me
Politico, by Reid J. Eptstein

Original Article

President Barack Obama’s first post-election radio address centered on the themes he pushed in his speeches in Chicago Tuesday and in the East Room Friday. Obama couched his reelection victory as giving him the authority to focus on job creation his way, with protections for the middle class and deficit reduction paid for by the nation’s wealthiest. The way to avert the year-end fiscal cliff, he said, is the very proposal he has been making for months on the campaign trail. “The message you sent was clear: You voted for action, not politics as usual,” he said.

Taxes. That´s what they voted for, that´s what they´ll get.

I was just crunching some numbers after thinking about Obama´s supposed "mandate". In 2010 (latest data available) there were 217,342,419 eligible citizen voters in the US. In 2012 Obama received 61,710,131 votes or approx 28% of eligible voting age people.
The 61,710,131 votes that Obama received in 2012 is 7,788,385 fewer than he received in 2008, and is even 318,154 fewer votes than Bush got in 2004.
Not much of a mandate....

Waiting for the wealthy Dems who voted for him to figure out that they have shot themselves in the foot. Will feeling "patriotic" make up for the "contribution" they will have to make to Obie´s government? It´s their wealth he wants to redistribute.

In urban areas, in cemeteries, yes, they did.

Elsewhere, not so much. Obama needs to look at a map breakdown of the vote. He probably is - so he can punish those red states.

The 50 percent that doesn´t pay taxes agrees with tax the wealthy. Except, now, the wealthy won´t expand their companies, move operations overseas, and stop giving to the non profits.

Whe Bill Clinton in 1992 received 43% of the vote, he said it was a mandate. When a reporter asked him to clarify that statement, Bill said, ´even a one vote victory is a mandate.´
The only mandate President Zero has includes Reggie Love.

Mr. Big Shot desperately needs to be reminded that the voters also agreed with 240 REPUBLICAN congressmen in the House. When Obama sneers "I won" at Mr. Boehner, the only appropriate response is "So did I."

Vote "present". Let the rubes have their taxes and let the Democrats own the depression. Don´t cave on anything that would shift composition of electorate, i.e. amnesty. fire Reince. Fire McConnell. Hire Sununu, Wayne Allyn Root, Liz Cheney, or Ann Coulter ( iff she apologizes for Christie Creme) for GOP Chair. Hire Rand Paul or Rubio for Senate Majority Leader. Recruit some sane, disciplined, cunning, professional, conservative candidates for 2014.

Boehner should give him and the Democrats EXACTLY what he´s asking for, and right now!

Because it won´t do what he says it will, and he, and them, will be held accountable next election - in 2 years.

Loved how he was "expecting to find" leaders who will do what he says.

Execpt for him, every other member is worried about their jobs starting right now.

And remember too, not 1 Democrat voted for Obama´s budget the last 2 he´s proposed, which means they´re poison to Democrats.

Boehner should STOP trying to save the President and the other Democrats and give them what the President wants.

A tax increase on the rich won´t make a dentin the deficit and that isn´t the reason anyway. The left will spend the money before the first dime comes in. Blue states all over the country have raised taxes on the rich and they´re as underwater as ever.Europe has VAT taxes and high gas taxes and their still broke.

One of the left´s biggest schemes over the past 15-to 20 years has been building condo projects in cities hoping to lure high rollers back in to help the tax base. This was a big reason for the eminent domain the liberals on the SC agreed with.Never mind that private property seizures are unconstitutional unless it´s for roads or similar needs. Now, a lot of these condo projects set unfinished because the banks cut them off or the completed ones have been converted to public housing units that HUD is paying for.

The worst part of the higher taxes scam is Obama will carve out blocs of his donors from paying them.Just like carving out over half the country for paying for Obamcare, like felons.

Once and for all we have rid ourselves of this fatal delusion that if we give Zippy what he wants, in two years he will be held accountable. He will NEVER be held accountable. This is not happenstance or default. Powerful forces that shape events in this country have gone to a lot of trouble and expense to ensure that this man is never caught and will never be held accountable for anything. This weasel has escaped. Let us concentrate on getting Congress back in ´14 and routing his would be successor in ´16.

Obama´s campaign was a policy-free zone. There was nothing to agree upon. He won the election because more people decided to stick with the status quo than to change. It´s as simple as that. I don´t see much of a mandate considering his failure to run on anything of substance.

Cheater. A rational universe would disallow all Philadelphia votes in light of Republican poll watchers being ejected from polling places. Imagine that scenario with the parties reversed. Someone would also do an in depth study of the crucial counties in Ohio where there were several allegations of bused in voters, thanks to unions.

On the other hand I don´t know why Allen West and myself care about blatant voter fraud. The Republican party and the previous Republican administration did NOTHING to prevent all of this when they had the chance.

Via Matt Lewis, here’s Maverick once again demonstrating that “cordial relationship” in politico-speak means “two people who can’t publicly admit to hating each other but obviously do.” And it’s a cheap shot. Cruz’s point yesterday at CPAC was that Dole, McCain, and Romney lost because they weren’t conservative enough. That’s not because they’re gutless — he said specifically that they were “good” and “decent” men — but because they’re not committed, full-throated ideologues, even less so when they’re fighting for purple states in a national election. We can debate whether that’s true but there’s nothing offensive in raising the subject.

What’s been said of confession — that it is good for one’s soul but bad for one’s reputation — can also be true of testifying to Congress, so Lois Lerner has chosen to stay silent. Hers, however, is an eloquent silence. The most intrusive and potentially most punitive federal agency has been politicized; the IRS has become an appendage of Barack Obama’s party. Furthermore, congruent with exhortations from some congressional Democrats, it is intensifying its efforts to suffocate groups critical of progressives, by delaying what once was the swift, routine granting of tax-exempt status. One of the most seismic changes in American politics over the last decade has been the emergence of a sharp generational split among the electorate. The Democratic Party owes its success in the last two presidential elections almost entirely to overwhelming support among the very young, which has overcome continued conservatism among older voters. The Pew Research Institute has dominated the field of exploring the ideological cleavages among different generations. Sarah Palin, the tea-party-darling former Alaska governor who ran for vice president in 2008, is leaving the door open for a president run in 2016. ´It depends on what it is that Americans really, really want in a candidate,´ Palin said Friday night. ´If they want a fighter, if they want someone who can so respect our exceptionalism, everything that makes America great, the promise of America. And if we don´t find that, then I would run.´ [Snip] Asked who her favorite presidential hopefuls are so far, she singled out Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul while

Barack Obama´s parents were "married in name only," according to David Maraniss´s 2012 Barack Obama: The Story. But since definitions of an "in name only" marriage vary, such as "a marriage of convenience" or "a sexless marriage," and Maraniss failed to explain his claim, it is unclear what he was implying. Therefore, Obama´s oft-told nativity story must be searched for the full implications of Obama´s parents´ "in name only" marriage. (snip) So when did Ann´s and Obama Sr.´s "whatever happened happened fast" wedding happen? For no apparent reason, confusion abounds among Obama´s biographers over the wedding date:

The White House said the US president told his Russian counterpart that Russia’s actions were a violation of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. During the hour-long phone call, President Obama urged Russian forces to return to their bases. The White House said it hoped the crisis could be settled diplomatically and urged the Russian and Ukrainian governments to hold direct talks in an effort to find a settlement. The President called for an agreement which would protect the interests of both Ukrainians and ethnic Russians living in Ukraine. This was the second phone call between the two leaders in a

The millionaire attorney funding a ‘spoiled’ cheerleader’s lawsuit against her own parents let the teenager drink in his house, threw ‘alcoholic parties’ and apparently allowed her to have her first drop of booze, according to court documents. When Rachel Canning was a 15-year-old freshman she got so drunk on vodka at Jon Inglesino’s home that she was sick all over the sidewalk and into a garbage can after her dad Sean picked her up for a basketball game. And according to the Canning family, Inglesino’s wife Amy gave Rachel and her friends wine coolers in the back of a limo

Disbelieving family and friends of an ex-Navy SEAL who died of an apparent drugs overdose on the ship made famous in the movie Captain Phillips are convinced of a ´cover-up´ and have called for a US investigation into his death, MailOnline can reveal today. The body of Mark Kennedy, a super fit, highly-decorated member of the elite fighting force, was found inside a cabin on the cargo ship Maersk Alabama - the vessel involved in a 2009 hijacking that ended with Somali pirates shot dead by SEALs. Another former SEAL, Jeffrey Reynolds, was found alongside him, also dead from a suspected drug

New York City lefty Mayor Bill de Blasio was elected in a landslide with more than 73 percent of the vote last November. Yet after only two months on the job, his approval rating has been cut nearly in half, with only 39 percent of city voters expressing approval of the job he has done so far. (Snip) But this is a brutal start. For a worst-case scenario, consider the rapid slide of President François Hollande—another far-left candidate who swept into office in a landslide. He saw his approval rating crater within months of taking office; it now sits at

KINGSTON - More than 150 years after European colonial powers abolished slavery, a coalition of Caribbean nations is considering legal action to seek a formal apology and monetary compensation. Caribbean leaders meeting next week in St. Vincent are expected to study a broad legal outline for the reparations claim prepared by a British law firm. The subject of reparations has simmered in the Caribbean for many years and opinions are divided. Some see reparations as delayed justice, while others see it as an empty claim and a distraction from modern social problems in Caribbean societies. Slavery ended throughout the Caribbean
