CIA boss David Petraeus forced to
quit after FBI investigation found
he was cheating on his loyal
wife ´with married biographer´

Daily Mail [UK], by James Nye*

Original Article

CIA Director David Petraeus dramatically resigned today after allegedly having an affair with his biographer. The alleged affair was uncovered after the FBI launched an investigation into the biographer, Paula Broadwell, for allegedly hacking into the former general´s email, NBC News and Slate reported. Broadwell, who researched the book ´All In´ for three years, had extensive access to Petraeus in Afghanistan. Yet sources told NBC it is unlikely she will face criminal charges after the alleged hacking, stressing that Petraeus himself is under no investigation. Petraeus stepped down today after confessing to cheating on his wife of 37 years, Holly

Some articles are implying he will no longer have to testify. Why is that the case?

Wow, reporters are certainly having no problem finding out all the details of this top secret investigation into a top secret life. I would guess the White House is making all this information easily available, in order to slime and damage Gen. Petraeus and make sure he can´t testify-- he´d be an easy target to ridicule by the dems. Hopefully, Gen. Petraeus will find a way to get the info out on what happened in Libya. And I´m sure it won´t be pretty for Obama. I hope, anyway.

I really think that Petraeus is a small piece of a much larger plan.

Obama´s end game is to destroy Israel - through the muslims. Obama can only do this if he destroys our military. Destroying our military requires a two-pronged attack, defunding (destroy US economy and force us to cut military funding) and weak military leaders (get rid of Petraeus, etc.)

Mission accomplished, obama can dump in one of his minions to head the CIA.
No need to prosecute Broadwell and drag it out.

After reading about this in numerous stories I strongly doubt he was "forced" to resin. But the whole deal is none of my business. They are both accomplished, driven adults. But they´re also still human. Rather than a scandal, it seems a sad thing to me.

For anyone who says "Poor Petraeus. This was only an affair" you are dead wrong. The potential for blackmail of our highest national security officer is not a small thing. He violated the Agency´s own standards for every employee and does not deserve pity or anyone defending him. Is it too much to ask that some people should be held to higher standards for security of 350,000,000 Americans? It wasn´t a mistake. It went on for perhaps a year or more and he wrote thousands of emails over the last few months. Sounds like a man with serious issues, distracted from the most important job in the world. Hall him in. Get the truth. And prosecute if need be. This administration needs to be held accountable for perhaps the greatest most dangerous coverup in our history. Obama, Biden, Holder, Mueller, Clinton for starters. Get rid of them all. Preferably behind bars.

Former UN Ambassador John Bolton said yesterday that Gen. Petraeus CAN be called in to testify, and he can also be subpoenaed, if necessary.

This skank hacked into his email and THEN began an affair with him? Well howdy do, General. I wish he would´ve kept it in his pants. I know it´s none of our business but it just goes to show you how the mighty can fall.

Reply 12 - Posted by: Judith, 11/10/2012 9:35:12 AM     (No. 9004858)

So, petraeus ended the affair BEFORE he became cia director?
And our fbi just disclosed this?
And our potus allowed a man with compromised ethics (snicker)and vulnerability to be blackmailed (again, snicker)to head our cia?
Does this not stretch to breaking point, credulity?

I see no reason why this should affect whether he is compelled to testify or not. Not that it matters, like everything else connected to Obama the hearings will come to nothing.

It´s amazing to me how everyone else´s secrets are easy to uncover, but all of Obama´s apparently remain buried at the bottom of the ocean.

The most successful politicians write their own obituaries. I have read a number of Baroness Thatcher´s today and wondered whether the writers would be surprised if they were told she would probably agree with most of what was written, even in the Left-of-centre outlets. This is because successful politicians so dominate the debate on the issues they care about--which were many, in Thatcher´s case--that they determine the course of the argument including the response from opponents. They do this by defining themselves in the public imagination by what they are against rather than what they are for, and leaving only

The state of California is reportedly considering legislation that would force group insurance policies to provide infertility treatment for gay and lesbian couples. Two men who have sex with each other for a year and do not produce a baby would be considered “infertile” under the proposed legislation. So would two women having sex. Since biology does not allow those without a uterus to conceive or those without a penis to impregnate, every year-long gay couple in California would potentially be covered by this new provision of California law.
