What´s the case against Michelle Obama starting a political career of her own? It starts and ends with the fact that she doesn´t want one. But what if she changes her mind? The first lady has three important things for a future in politics: the popularity, the skills, and the opportunity. (We´ll get to "the will" later.) Here´s the case for her taking her turn on the ballot: People love her. Aside from her husband and Hillary Clinton, the first lady is the biggest rock star in the Democratic Party.
Comments: I dunno.....Marie Antoinette lost her head at the same time as her husband, Louis XVI. At the end, no one wanted her, either. I´m considering a tumbrel.
What has she possibly done to merit anything close to an article like this?
Unless they´re comparing her to her husband or the VP. In that case, she´s about on a par. Who cares who´s in the WH, just put in a figurehead. Who better than a black woman. Oh wait ...I think I just answered my question above.
I knew this was coming,I´m just surprised,so soon.People voting on personality and cult is what has us on the brink of disaster so yea,why not MO,if there´s a country left by 2016.
Idiots like this writer has no clue on the level of destruction Obama plans on imposing on this country. We´re getting ready to be hit by a flood of EPA and Obamacare rules that were held back until after the election. In the coming weeks and months we´ll see even more job bloodbaths.
To makeup for all the lost revenues Obama will simply seize people´s wealth but not rich liberals. The morons who just voted for women´s rights will be at their local welfare office before you know it.
People actually believe Obama has a plan for jobs when his real goal is to kill as many as possible. They´ll look up your voting record and find a way to target you.
If we don´t fix the voting fraud, then of course she would win. Will never believe that Obama won honestly. No tin hat for me, but wish the "experts" would look at the data and explain how the Repub candidates all lost except for two who were in hand counted ballot states with voter ID laws!
This is coming out now because the Democrats have no bench. They have nobody coming up in the ranks to provide even a semblance of leadership in the future. The Democratic party is the party of decrepit old geezers, lifers who have worked for decades and decades to get to this point. Now that they are here, they have no where to go and nobody to hand the party off to. In 2016 they will give us Biden or Hillary, both at, or over Seventy years old. They have no one else.
Having lost her Law license rather than face prosecution for Insurance Fraud certainly qualifies Buick Butt for an additional 8 years of blaming G.W. Bush for Obama ineptitude. Yeahh that´s just a great idea.
Can we expect that after Zero´s term only blacks will be allowed to vote? After all, the playing field has to be leveled to include leveling the country into a pile of ruble. Anything less just wouldn´t be fair now would it?
People love her? Not people that I know. To those people including me this "lady" is nothing more than an angry, big shouldered, wide loaded, steel jawed, entitled, thick armed harridan. I have NO respect for her husband Oblamo or the PIAPS. Yeah she´s the biggest Democrap rock star alright. More like rock head.
Really?!!! Dont write such tripe. By the time 2016 gets here it will be strange if the nation isn´t in a state of revolution and the Obama´s aren´t the most hated people in the U.S. along with the Democra Party.
Yuck! Now this woman? It seems they really care about their two daughters and ensuring their privacy.. NOT! What horrible people, to even come up with this. They just love the limelight, like rock stars! History will not be kind to these two. Fraud? you bethca. Absentee ballots filled out in nursing homes for residents.. from eyewitness accouts. We have gone over the cliff.

Commenters all miss point that despite 4 years of incredible failure, Obama won, again. Success is not a requirement, nor is experience. Michelle has incredible chance not because she is loved (please!) but because the Dems have the blacks, Hispanics, single woman, poor whites, bitter whites, white elitists and the all-important news and entertainment industries. The more things erode under Obama, the more this already large block grows. GOP has a shrinking pool of middle & upper middle income voters, and this group is growing apathetic. President Obama, meet President Obama.
The propaganda for Michelle is beginning in earnest. This is how they are going to extend the Thug Regime indefinitely. After Michelle´s two terms, her daughters will have their turn at the presidency. This is America and we have free elections, doncha know. It´s like the Bush Dynasty.
Hey skip the fluff, go straight to the power behind the throne, get America´s version of Rasputin, put Valerie Jarrett in there. You want continuity you need Jarrett. You won´t be able to tell where Obama left off and Jarrett checked in because Obama is Jarrett. Michelle can become the school food czar.
Why not? She will have more experience than the current bumbling empty suit. She´ll know how to order up a fleet of AF jets to transport herself and huge entourage to any point on the globe. She knows how to throw a party at taxpayers´ expense. Lastly, she´ll have plenty of experience bossing around a bloated and overpaid staff.
Michelle 0bama is not as well liked as the press would like us to believe. Many of us feel she has no class, no dignity, and she wears funny clothes that are too small and too tight. She keeps trying to peddle her many ignorant views upon us all, and she does not even follow her own advice. Michelle, for president, I think not.

She could run for FOUR terms!! Two for each butt cheek.
If she is so well-liked why do we have to be reminded so often that she is so well-liked? It reminds of when a new sit-com is launched and you are treated to one-liners and a raucous laugh track with a voice telling you how the laughs just keep coming, it´ll have you rolling, there´s no stopping the hilarity, etc. See, it´s funny, get it? You need to watch because it´s funny. So, she´s popular because we say she´s popular, okay? It´s settled, she´s popular.
Break out either the champagne or the sharpened stones, because it’s well past time that we found some sort of consensus on a question which has been chomping at our collective heels for the last two presidential election cycles. And with a bit of focus, we might actually come to some conclusions as to how we handle this before the Hillary/Christie Show sucks up all of the Nielson ratings. I speak, of course, of the now seemingly eternal battle over the GOP primary battle and the unending complaints that the party’s voters seem to keep electing squishy moderates
Nidal Hasan — the Fort Hood mass murderer now on trial — began his court martial defense with the statement that the evidence will show he is guilty. What the evidence will also show, by omission, is how our government institutions ignored the sort of evidence the NSA is supposedly looking for in its global search of telephone data, emails, and other electronic communication. In his Friday press conference, President Obama didn’t address that problem. Instead, he promised to have an independent panel of experts report on how to fix our intelligence gathering mechanisms. He began, as he always does,
The competition for the most loathsome news organization in the U.S is fierce. Based on their offenses against the basic tenets of journalism seen during just the past two weeks, some of which would have made the propagandists at the former Soviet Union’s Pravda blush, three lame losers — Politico, the Huffington Post, and the Associated Press — have emerged as leaders of the left agenda-promoting, Barack Obama keister-covering brigade. Politico is the trailblazer in frequently tailoring and even altering its coverage to minimize Obama administration embarrassment. The practice makes a mockery of its “Our Story” page promise
Obamacare, enacted more than three years ago, has been unraveling for over a year. And there’s a good reason for that: it was never intended to become law at all. Ordinarily one house of Congress passes a bill and the other house then substantially amends that bill or writes its own from scratch. No one worries too much about the actual language in these bills because they eventually go to a conference committee made up of both senators and representatives. There, the differences are ironed out and legislative draftsmen put the conference bill into final shape.
Remember the polar bear became an Internet sensation after starving to death because of global warming? One scientist is questioning this narrative, arguing that the polar bear’s death was used as a photo-op by global warming alarmists. “I suggest this is what really happened: the polar bear biologists working in Svalbard earlier this year knew this bear was going to die back in April when they captured him — they simply waited, with a photographer on hand, until he died. It was an orchestrated photo-op,” writes zoologist Dr. Susan Crockford on her blog Polarbearscience.com. Last Tuesday, the Guardian posted a picture
This week we’ve looked at seven potential contenders for the GOP nomination and what each needs to do to set himself up for a 2016 run. Right Turn will be back tomorrow, but we end our vacation series with the reasons why you don’t need to worry that a group of newcomers are going to be among the serious contenders in 2016. Certainly there will be candidates with little chance at the presidency, including Sens. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) and Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) and former senator Rick Santorum, who may be urged to run. I see no path
Awhile ago, my exasperated wife said: “Why don’t you take a week off from bashing the president and write about something else? Anything else.” And I said: “I want to, but he won’t let me. Just when you think he can’t do anything more amateurish than he did last week, bam, he rises to the challenge again and hits new levels of futility and incompetence.” So it is yet again. And this first part is going to sound made-up, but I swear to you it is not. During the 2008 campaign, Sen. Barack Obama traveled the country
BAGHDAD - Gun attacks and a bombing killed at least seven more people in Iraq on Sunday, police said, after a day of carnage aimed mainly at Shi´ite Muslims celebrating the end of Ramadan. The United States condemned a wave of car bombings which police and medical sources said killed nearly 80 people across Iraq on Saturday, saying those who had attacked civilians during Eid al-Fitr festivities were "enemies of Islam". Bombs tore through markets, shopping streets and parks late on Saturday as Iraqi families were out celebrating the end of the Muslim fasting month.
The “phony scandal” at the IRS keeps growing. E-mail correspondence unearthed by the House Ways and Means Committee reveals that Lois Lerner, the figure at the center of the scandal, may have committed a felony by divulging information about a conservative group to the Federal Election Commission, in an incident that dates back at least to 2008, before President Obama took office. Though some conservatives have eagerly sought evidence that Obama’s White House instigated the IRS’s targeting of tea-party groups, the latest evidence suggests that an anti-conservative bias may instead be an endemic feature of the federal bureaucracy.
Oh no, it’s that time of year again. For the next week or so, it will be nonstop fawning all over the Obamas during their summer vacation on Martha’s Vineyard. What restaurant did they dine at? What ice cream did they eat? What bookstore did they visit? Is John Kerry taking them out on the Isabella? Will there be a Kennedy sighting? Will Lizzy Warren wear her red blazer on the Vineyard? Absent from the coverage will be the fact that the nation is suffering through another jobless recovery summer. As the president plays his numerous rounds of golf,
Despite going on parade with a beautiful woman half his age, 30-year-old entrepreneur Shauna Mei, 68-year-old Gen. Wesley Clark isn’t yet divorced from his wife of 46 years. The retired US Army general and former NATO Supreme Allied Commander filed for divorce from his wife Gertrude Kingston Clark — whom he married in 1966 — last year. But the divorce trial date set for May 1 this year was delayed, sources exclusively tell Page Six, and as of press time, no final divorce was announced, so their negotiations are likely still ongoing. We’re told Clark met Mei,
You know things are messed up for the GOP when Gov. Chris Christie is the only Republican who leads Hillary Clinton in Georgia! Christie is at the top of the 2016 Republican presidential scrum and, for the moment, he even leads Sen. Rand Paul in Live Free or Die New Hampshire (PDF). The governor of reliably Blue New Jersey and possessor of an outsize personality, he commands attention. Yet, none of this guarantees Christie the nomination. Electability is not the same as nominability. He just needs to ask another Northeast Catholic executive who was also once deemed electable:
While media mogul Oprah Winfrey has been promoting her new film, “Lee Daniels’ The Butler,” she revealed she was a recent victim of profiling while shopping in a store in Zurich.(Snip)“I was in Zurich the other day at a store, whose name I will not mention,” Winfrey said on “Entertainment Tonight,” “and I didn’t have my eyelashes on, but I was in full Oprah Winfrey gear…but obviously, ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’ is not shown in Zurich. So this doesn’t happen to me unless somebody obviously doesn’t know that it’s me.” Winfrey went on to explain that she was in Zurich for Tina Turner’s wedding,
Appearing on This Week With George Stephanopoulos, Republican Congressman Louie Gohmert battled not only the Democratic panelists but also conservative pundit George Will over the wisdom of shutting down the government to prevent Obamacare funding. Gohmert strongly condemned President Barack Obama’s argument at Friday’s news conference that the GOP’s “holy grail” was enying millions of people health insurance. “That’s a false narrative,” Gohmert said. “He says we’re trying to keep people from having health care. That’s just not true. That is an absolute, blatant lie. We’re not trying to keep anybody from getting health care.
During his Wednesday appearance on Jay Leno´s "Tonight Show,´ President Obama made three factual gaffes; one of them involved the claim that cities not found along the Gulf of Mexico are. Were Obama a Republican, these gaffes would have led news coverage for the next forty-eight hours. Not only did most of the media ignore or downplay these gaffes; the Associated Press went so far as to cover one of them up. In its coverage Thursday, rather than point out the president´s geographical error, the wire service made it look as though no error was made.
Nobody tells Oprah she can´t afford a handbag. Oprah Winfrey is one of the richest entertainers in the world, thanks to her willdly successful 25-season run on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" and her latest media foray with the newly revitalized Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN). The entertainer earned an estimated $77 million from June 2012 to June 2013 alone, according to Forbes, but she says she still experiences racism because she is African American. Take this latest incident in Switzerland, where "The Butler" star went to attend the nuptials of good friend and singer Tina Turner last month.
The taxpayer-supported Missouri State Fair is getting a lot of negative publicity in social media Sunday following a report of a shameful stunt that occurred Saturday night in Sedalia. (Snip) Basically, a clown wearing a mask of Obama came out during the bull riding event. The crowd was asked if it wanted to see Obama “run down by a bull. Things got worse from there." Things got worse from there, which doesn’t surprise me, given the anti-Obama feeling among many fairgoers from rural Missouri, where Obama lost to Mitt Romney (at least 60-40 percent in much of outlying parts of state)
Ames, Iowa — Donald Trump delivered a blistering attack on Mitt Romney’s campaign today. “I don’t know what the hell happened with his campaign,” Trump said in a speech at The Family Leader Summit. “I just don’t get it. That was an election that couldn’t have been lost.” “Every single state that they asked me to go or do some phone calls or some television, we won in the primaries,” Trump remarked. But he also criticized what the campaign had initially wanted him to say in robocalls. “They gave me this most pathetic thing to say. I said,
During a press conference yesterday, President Obama revealed the existence of a sealed indictment in the Benghazi attacks in Libya on September 11, 2012, leaving some experts questioning whether the president broke the law. Federal law states that ´no person may disclose [a sealed] indictment´s existence,´ and that doing so may be ´punished as a contempt of court,´ a charge that carries a minimum sentence of six months prison. The announcement came as a surprise to some insiders, as the existence of a sealed indictment has not been publicly confirmed or denied by law enforcement or
During an hour-long deep dive into the growing use of food stamps in America, Fox News highlighted “the new face of food stamps.” That new face is a pina colada-sipping, lobster-loving lothario named Jason Greenslate. Greenslate, a 29-year-old La Jolla California surfer and musician who sings that he does not want a “motherfucking job” and has “fuck no” guilt about living on $200 of what he calls “free money ” — or what the government called Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Benefits — while he avoids a job to hang out on the beach, sing and chase women.
President Obama took his case for ending the sequester to hundreds of disabled veterans Saturday, saying he protected their benefits from the “reckless” cuts to the federal budget but suggesting next year might be different. “It’s hurting our military. I made it clear that your veteran’s benefits are exempt from this year’s sequester,” the president said to the applause of hundreds at the Disabled American Veterans´ convention in Orlando, Fla. “But I want to tell you going forward the best way to protect the VA care you have earned is to get rid of this sequester altogether.”
Rooms have to be found for dozens of Secret Service agents, someone has to carry a selection of presidential basketballs, and of course the family dog needs his own state-of-the-art aircraft. Arriving in the idyllic coastal retreat of Martha´s Vineyard in Massachusetts, Mr Obama left behind him in Washington DC high profile debates over the budget, government surveillance and his health care reforms. Instead, he will spend the next eight days playing golf, going to the beach, and buying books from the Bunch of Grapes bookstore.
In a story that has remained largely under the mainstream media radar, Congress announced late last month that it would finally investigate the Aug. 6, 2011 helicopter crash in Afghanistan that resulted in 38 deaths, including 22 members of SEAL Team 6, made famous three months earlier when they killed Osama Bin Laden. Grieving family members insist that soldiers in the elite unit were placed in unnecessary danger by the recklessness of the Obama administration, whose actions they characterized as criminal. “We’re going to dive into this,” said Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT),
Eydie Gorme, a popular nightclub and television singer as a solo act and as a team with her husband, Steve Lawrence, has died. She was 84. Gorme, who also had a huge solo hit in 1963 with "Blame it on the Bossa Nova," died Saturday at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas following a brief, undisclosed illness, said her publicist, Howard Bragman. Gorme was a successful band singer and nightclub entertainer when she was invited to join the cast of Steve Allen´s local New York television show in 1953. She sang solos and also did duets and comedy skits with Lawrence, a rising young singer who had joined
