Woman Linked to Petraeus Is a
West Point Graduate and
Lifelong High Achiever

Paula Broadwell, whose affair with the nation’s C.I.A. director led to his resignation on Friday, was the valedictorian of her high school class and homecoming queen, a fitness champion at West Point with a graduate degree from Harvard, and a model for a machine gun manufacturer. Paula Broadwell, who wrote a biography of David H. Petraeus, moved into public view on Friday after an affair with Mr. Petraeus was uncovered. It may have been those qualities — and a string of achievements that began in her native North Dakota, where she was state student council president, an all-state

High achiever - but not a lick of common sense. Led around by her lady-parts.

Probably one of those people with high technical prowess but low, underdeveloped emotional intelligence. Common sense tells anyone you don´t betray your husband and kids and get into an affair like this just for the thrill of it.

Now her reputation as an objective historian is ruined. She can spend the rest of her life as tabloid fodder. Just ask Miss Lewinsky.

Some extraordinary investigative journalism we have in this country that within minutes of Patraus´ resignation the "other" party involved is identified. Does anyone else beside me find this interesting.
All this in light of little barry sotereo or whatever his name is still a ´blank´ on his history.

1. More coverage of him/her/this than of, not just Benghazi, but the slew of Muslim 9/11 attacks on the US this year.

2. In a few days we know 100 times more about her than we yet know about Stinky after years.

Not that that means anything. Right?

So sad... for all involved ... even America...

When first in DC, realized a woman could not be successful in marriage, children, and work... only two of three were possible...

Too bad she didn´t chose marriage and children...

#9, agree wholeheartedly.

This woman is a high achiever, and does have a fantastic resume, as others here have said. Too bad she is without honor or integrity (betraying her marital vows, and perhaps in trying to access the General´s e-mail).

MY WIFE’S LOVER

My wife is having an affair with a government executive. His role is to manage a project whose progress is seen worldwide as a demonstration of American leadership. (This might seem hyperbolic, but it is not an exaggeration.) I have met with him on several occasions, and he has been gracious. (I doubt if he is aware of my knowledge.) I have watched the affair intensify over the last year, and I have also benefited from his generosity. He is engaged in work that I am passionate about and is absolutely the right person for the job. I strongly feel that exposing the affair will create a major distraction that would adversely impact the success of an important effort. My issue: Should I acknowledge this affair and finally force closure? Should I suffer in silence for the next year or two for a project I feel must succeed? Should I be “true to my heart” and walk away from the entire miserable situation and put the episode behind me? NAME WITHHELD

The fact that you’re willing to accept your wife’s infidelity for some greater political good is beyond honorable. In fact, it’s so over-the-top honorable that I’m not sure I believe your motives are real. Part of me wonders why you’re even posing this question, particularly in a column that is printed in The New York Times.

Remarkable #12, changes the whole perspective of this and deflates the conspiracy balloon. If the husband knew, everyone knew, did´t take the FBI to uncover this. To me its quite sad, really, that these successful, driven two people have never found love and loyalty. Nothing new, of course, just sad.

No, not led around by her "lady parts". How simplistic men are.

She was driven. An achiever. Petraeus was another achievement. Another trophy.

She was driven to an affair with him because she realized it was possible, that this powerful man could be had.

And when she was finished with him, she dumped him.

It´s interesting that she had a Twitter campaign going against Drudge´s contention that Romney might shoose Petraeus as his running mate.

She is a Democrat.

High achiever, huh, with her pants down around her ankles underneath an office desk? This wanton, unscrupulous, careerist named Broad-well, gives whores a bad name. As for Petraeus, a preening careerist type barely intelligent enough to know a good idea when he sees one, but always too pretentious to offer attribution, we should expect this kind of boorish behavior out of him for he has always served the interests of the Boston-Beltway cocktail circuit rather than that of the Constitutional Republic.

Nearly five years after moving into the White House, Michelle Obama could not look more at home. Posing in the formal Green Room, she appears both relaxed and invigorated, embracing the undefined (and undefinable) roles of Spouse in Chief, Role Model in Chief, and Mom in Chief. But it’s the last one that makes the first lady shine brightest of all. Put her in a room with kids—whether her own or the nation’s—and she glows.

Charlotte is an unlikely home for Paula Broadwell, a counterterrorism expert and world traveler who relished being embedded with combat troops in Afghanistan to research her biography of Gen. David Petraeus. But Broadwell moved here more than three years ago with her husband, Scott, a radiologist, and their two young sons, Landon and Lucien, because it was her husband’s turn to pick. “We made an agreement when we first got married that every other move would be the other person’s,” she told the Observer in an interview earlier this year. President Obama inspired a generation of young people to support his historic election in 2008. Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day. When the Civil Rights Act passed in 1964, the primary purpose was to root out discrimination in public accommodations (like hotels and movie theaters)

In the first public account of the incident, the official said the Russian Fencer flew within 1,000 yards of the USS Donald Cook, a Navy destroyer, at about 500 feet above sea level. Ship commanders considered the actions provocative and inconsistent with international agreements, prompting the ship to issue several radio queries and warnings.
