Obama's re-election

NEW YORK -- Gun sales are up in the wake of Barack Obama's re-election on Tuesday, driven by fears of tighter regulations under a Democratic president, especially for firearms that might be classified as assault weapons. "Sales are up," said John Kielbasa, owner of Fernwood Firearms in Hankins, N.Y. "I had a guy waiting here first thing in the morning [after the election.] He came in, bought two AK-47s." Kielbasa said that he sells semiautomatic versions of the fully automatic Kalashnikov rifles, as is permitted by law. He said the demand for semiautomatic

I certainly hope the millions of people who are stocking up on ammo and guns took the time to actually VOTE on Tuesday. Just saying.....

Every sale is tracked by municipal, state and federal government! Their databases will be opened up to web sites that will identify and eventually demonized every one of them! Obama has been working with the UN to circumvent the Second Amendment. It is just a matter of a short time before a wide variety of arms will be declared illegal and voluntary surrender programs will begin. After that, illegal arms will be proactively sought out and lawbreakers will be brought to "justice". Your new liberal/progressive masters will stop at nothing to disarm you! Elections do indeed have consequences and this will be a doozy!

The very first thing zippy did once he was sure he won on Tuesday was to sign the UN Small Arms Treaty. Gun control is priority on his agenda. An unarmed public will be easier to control.

#2 "every sale" is not tracked by "municipal" (especially) state and federal. Backgroundchecks are from the FBI and administered by states. Nature of the purchase is not even asked (exception - handguns) Muncipalities are absolutely prohibited to regulate firarms by law in some states (particularly in PA).

#6 he did not 'sign' anything much less a treaty. The US expressed a willingness to support renewing discussions on forming such a treaty. Ratifying it (assuming it is not aborted again) would require a 2/3 Senate majority (do the math).

Other commenter: I'd say you are correct. It would be unwise to underestimate 100 MILLION Americans.

#7 is right. And private sales are tracked by no one. My advice is to have a long gun, perhaps a semi-auto carbine with at least 20/30 round mag (you can still find them out there), a 12 gauge shotgun, and one or two handguns (9mm and .40).

Me? I have enough firearms, its ammo I'm worried about.

After assessing our firearms this week, we purchased an additional .22 rifle. It’s not much for protection, but it will do for small game. We felt it was important to add the .22 to our collection so we were prepared to use whatever ammo might be available. We have firearms for most all of the common types of ammo now. We’re also buying archery equipment (bows & crossbows)at garage sales when it’s cheap.

We determined this week that we are doubling (or more) our dried and canned food storage supplies, too.

Even the dumber ones know it won´t stop criminals. They just want Republicans to be in the boat with them.

I can´t decide if I think BIG government will do baby steps like assault weapons ban and higher ammo taxes first or if they will just do it all at once with a Supreme Court that makes things up. I guess a combination of everything as soon as possible.

OK let´s think seriously here for a minute. Let´s say I buy 4 guns and 5,000 rounds of ammo. I stock up on 6 months supply of food and toilet paper.

Now the goon squad surrounds my home. I pickup two guns and may get to shoot one or two goons but then they open fire and blow my house and me away.

What good are the other two guns and the remaining 4,950 rounds, not to mention the food?

Just a thought.

First lady Michelle Obama unveiled a proposed new nutrition label Thursday, claiming the labels would make it easier for families to tell whether food is healthy. Because math is hard, or something. If your “nanny-state” radar is going off, it should. The new label really doesn’t appear to be much different from the old one. The “servings per container” font is larger and bolder, the “calories” section is much larger and bolder and the “percent daily value” column was moved to the left side (have to spend that tax money on something).
