President Obama to Call for Deal

on Economy for Tax Increases on
Wealthy Will Be Minimal

ABC News, by Jake Tapper

Original Article

President Obama will today call upon Congress to work with him on preserving the lower tax rates first pushed by President Bush for those Americans who earn under $200,000 a year, but he will state his belief that voters were clear in re-electing him that they support a “balanced approach” to deficit reduction — meaning that the lower tax rates for higher wage earners should expire. The president, aides tell ABC News, will argue that the tax cuts for the middle class are something everyone agrees on, so there’s no reason for them

Agree. Oppose everything he asks for. Let's see what kind of fortitude Boehner and McConnell have. Let's do to Obama what Harry Reid bragged he would have done to Romney when Romney was up in the polls. We will win the mid-terms and Barry will become a "lame duck".

"The president will note that the CBO report states that most of the impact of the tax cuts relates to those wage-earners who make less than $200,000 a year. Extending all the Bush-initiated lower rates would boost GDP by 1.4% and help create 1.8 million jobs................."

But I thought Bush ruined the economy? Isn't that what Obama said, it was all President Bush's fault. Now if they let the Bush tax cuts expire then what?

Heard Chuck U. Schumer this morning explaining the 'myth' of increased revenues through lower rates. His 'explanation' consisted of various 'appeals to authority' and a list of admonitions pointing out that he cares more than you do.

No thinking.

Only emotional preaching, pandering and punishing.

Why is it that those who are so rabid to spend public money refuse to understand how revenue is actually generated ?

This is not a matter of opinion.

The record is clear.

Why should only a few Americans suffer? Why not all Americans. We are all in this together. Taxing the 'rich' will not solve our problem. It will not even slow down the inevitable. I’m sure the Rebublicans will cave but honestly, let all Americans feel the pain of Obambi’s spend. Class warfare isn't the answer. Shared suffering for our poor collective decisions is.

Republicans gave blacks the right to vote and freed the slaves, but do the majority vote republican? NO! Because the RATs buy their vote. Reagan gave Hispanics amnest py in the 80s. Do the majority of them vote republican? NO? Because the RATs give them free stuff. We control the purse strings and we aren't going to get their vote any way, so should off the spigot because if we give them amnesty, it will give the RATs more votes.

The "wealthy" don't have enough money combined to make a tiny dent in the deficit for even a month. There will be a massive exodus of money and corporations out of the USA. He will then blame them again, and again, but nothing will change until he's removed from office.

Why do Democrats and journalists continue to call extending existing rates “cuts”?

Why does -0-bama get to keep saying he “cut taxes” for the middle class simply by agreeing to extend rates put in place by his predecessor?

How is it that the “unfunded Bush tax cuts” can be used as a weapon against the GOP as the “policies that got us into this mess”, and at the same time constitute -0-bama’s signature achievement of “tax relief for the middle class”?

Why is it that extending rates for top earners having a projected “minimal” positive effect on economic growth a reason for NOT DOING IT? Why would anyone agree to raise taxes on the wealthy when their own projections indicate a negative effect on the economy - however small?

If the GOP refuses to raise taxes on the rich, any subsequent bad things that happen will be blamed on the GOP. If the GOP goes along with the tax increase (tax rates can be fixed later) the bad things that follow can be blamed on the tax increase and the Democrats.

The only way the GOP loses in this approach is if raising taxes on the rich makes the economy grow. Raise you hands if you think this is possible.

The Democrats MUST own any disasters that follow this election!!

The GOP has no power on this. All they can do is make their displeasure known, explain how Obama is hurting the economy and the middle class and then make sure he gets the blame when it all comes down. The Democrats do NOT like responsibility. They were very unhappy that they won Obamacare without a single Republican vote. Their media booty lickers have been busted saying it was bi-partisan, but only if you count an independent or Socialist that might have been thrown in. Not a single Republican can be saddled with the responsibility of the tax assault that Obamacare will cause.

We have very little in our arsenal, frankly, but one of the best things we have is forcing them to take responsibility for their actions.

You see, taking money out of the economy through taxation, then giving that money to your cronies and contributors puts the money back into the economy! So it is a net increase in the economy, because the government couldn't put money into the economy before they took it out of the economy and now they can--so it's good for the economy. /s

Varney had a guy on his show yesterday who is in the tool business. He held up a folder of flyers for other businesses terminating their businesses and selling out. The folder was so jam packed he could hardly get his hand around it. He told the story of one tool maker who closed his business, terminated workers, sold his inventory off, and then sold all his manufacturing equipment to China. Now China will be producing those same tools. I wonder if the final product will be radioactive. I hope Barry is proud of his transformation.

“Freedom.” We use that word a lot. Do we all really know what that word means? It’s used in so many different ways. Do we understand how it is attained? Most importantly, do we understand how it is used by some to actually take freedom away? Simply put, freedom is the ability to act without hindrance or restraint. Freedom is owning your life, your actions, your labor. We say we support the “principles” of freedom. But what are those principles and where did they come from? First of all, we must understand principles are not legislated or invented. Principles are discovered.

"It´s obvious that you can´t just walk away from this," Reid said in an April 18 interview with a Nevada´s KSNV-TV News 3 program “What’s Your Point?” "You can´t have a law that is -- we´re a nation of laws, not of men and women," he said. Harry Reid isn’t backing down from his claim that rancher Cliven Bundy’s supporters are “domestic terrorists.” It’s astonishing rhetoric given the White House’s characterization of the mass shooting by a genuine terrorist, Major Nidal Hasan, who killed 13 Americans at the Fort Hood Army base after yelling “Allahu Akbar!” (God is great.) Rather than labeling Hasan’s actions “domestic terrorism,” the Obama administration is prosecuting him for having committed “workplace violence.” Democratic rhetoric is become ever more desperate and overheated as we approach the November midterm elections. Last week, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said that GOP positions on immigration were motivated by

There’s a pattern of falsifying statistics throughout the entire Census Bureau. As I’ve been writing for more than six months, the Census Bureau office in Philadelphia uncovered a case of fraud in 2010, did nothing about it and allowed the practice to continue. In that instance, a data collector named Julius Buckmon was faking reports that went into the nation’s all-important jobless tally and consumer-inflation survey. Because the Census Bureau’s surveys are scientific — meaning

Perhaps the most remarkable feature of American democracy is the magnificent estate of public land that it reserved from the very beginning for the use of all citizens, rich or poor. There is nothing like it in the democracies of Europe, which came into being with nations already carved up into private fiefdoms. The Great Idea that hundreds of millions of acres of forests, deserts, rivers and prairies should be owned by, and managed for, the public interest has had a profound and lasting influence on American culture. But not everyone has accepted it. Cliven Bundy’s armed standoff with the National Park

At a petite 5’3’’, Sage Santangelo may not look like a combat fighter at first glance. But the female second lieutenant has never let that hold her back from pursuing her dream of becoming an infantry officer in the Marine Corps. Growing up, Santangelo found she was always able to keep up with the guys and enjoyed playing hockey on all boys’ teams. But when she joined the Marines, Santangelo found the playing field changed; she was segregated into female-only training units and as a woman, was relegated to less strenuous physical training than her male counterparts. And that’s why,
