Let’s have a little perspective
on the election, please

Washington Times, by Wesley Pruden

Original Article

Woe is us. But next time, the woe will be for the other guys. Keeping that in mind is the secret of surviving the morning after. Losing an election always hurts; winning hurts the other guys, which is why winning is so sweet. This one hurts conservatives a lot, and it’s particularly painful for those with unrealistic great expectations. Pessimists abound. Rep. Ron Paul, who holds the North American franchise for pessimism, says we no longer have to worry about the “fiscal cliff” because we already lie in the rocks and weeds at the bottom of Gruesome Gulch.

Gosh Mr. Pruden, the Dems and Repubs kicked the Conservatives butts again, and likely will now finish the destruction they started - cause they are going to go full bore to get in place what they want, so they can close the door fully on us.

This has nothing to do with changing demographics, and everything with stacking the deck, with complicity from the other side.

I clearly remember people insisting that there would be no election in 2000. Clinton would declare martial law and it would be over.

For those from the beltway, politics is everything, so when one side loses, it is always catastrophic to that side.

Don't get me wrong, I was devastated to see the results Tuesday night. I truly hope the Republicans just stand aside and let Obama get what he wants. It is going to take our economy and culture getting much worse before it gets better, just like it takes the alchoholic hitting rock bottom before they change.

I am just thankful that I live in Nebraska. I truly think the flyover country will weather the storm much better than the coasts. I believe that America will once again prosper, I just don't know how low we will have to go before that happens.

Buck-up conservatives. God Bless America!

The next 4 years are plenty of time for the progressive/socialists to "improve" on their previous efforts to make America into Socialist Europe. I don't think it is enough time for those young, stary-eyed, Obama worshippers to finally wake up to the reality that thier current standard of living, quality of life, and all the "goodies" they currently take for granted, are simply not going to be there. Graduate from college after incurring a huge debit to cover tuition, then what? Get a job? Just exactly where are you going to find employment at a level to permit you to pay off that debt you incurred? Corporations and small businesses, where in the past you may have found employment, will no longer be an option for as we speak, they are closing doors and laying off employees in preparation for ObamaCare. .

And ObamaCare is only one nail in the coffin of your avaiable opportunities. The Progressive/Socialist, which you aligned yourself with, have even more intentions of further bringing down the "Capitalist System" which has provide you with all you find so grand. And I haven't even mentioned your share of the National Debt you've inherited and will come due and payable just when you think things can't get any worse. Might want to start honing your Chinese language skills in preparation for that day.

Sorry, but there won't be ''another time'' ever again.

Within the next year, at least two conservative justices on the Supreme Court will either ''unexpectedly retire'' or have ''accidents'' that force them to step down. NØbama gets to replace them with lie-beral activist justices. That is the end.

NØbama then immediately announces amensty and instant citizenship for all illegal alliens who have been here more than 6 months. Boom, millions of new Demon-RAT voters that turn every red state blue over night. In a shocking announcement, the Supreme Court rules his actions constitutional. They make the rules and can do what they want, thanks to the Contitution that they are destroying.

Come November of 2014, the Demon-RATS gain a super majority in the Senate and a large majority in the House. Game over. The Republican Party is as dead as our republic. The Demon-RATS have the single party socialist rulership that they always fantasized about.

No, we are never going back. There will be no ''make up elections'' in 2014, 2016, or ever.

Forward to a socialist dictatorship. That is what NØbama promised, and he will deliver.

I know, I know. You think there will certainly be some place you can find a job and make a living. Just remember that when they pass "Amnesty" you will be competing against millions of here-to-fore "illegals" who will fill those job positions for far, far less than you can work for and still make ends meet.Plus they will be given "minority bonus points" to put them in line ahead of you. Oh! Wait, those people won't have the college degree that you have, so you'll get one of those high paying corporate jobs not available to them. Good luck with that. Most large corporations have in the past decades been crying for lossening up the visa requirements for highly skilled and educated folks from India and others places as the quality of those peoples skills and work ethic are far, far superior to yours. Oops! Foiled again. Do prepair your nieve little brain cells (both of them)for the severe degradation of your personal standard of living that is surely coming. Just remember the age old adage " Be careful what you wish ffor!" You asked for it. You got it! So please, spare us the tears and sniveling. You'll get no sympathy here

I greatly respect Pruden's perspectives, but imo he's off key this time. The election was not about liberal v conservative, or Democrat v Republican; it was primarily about morality v immorality. Hollywood et al have now bred a substantial majority of immoral citizens in this dying country. One day Mitt Romney will be thankful that he is not responsible for a country that could not be resuscitated.

If it is not over, the list of available options is getting short. Those commies have stacked the deck with crooked voting officials, bought and paid for news media, useful idiot academia, and multi generational sedentary parasites to make sure they stay in power. Those who dare produce must produce for them. The rinos have done nothing to get back our freedoms, and in some cases take it away themselves. (Can you say Patriot Act?). They run candidate after candidate who do not inspire, but are sure willing to play ball with the insiders.
We have few if any politicians on our side. The hour becomes late.

If they push it too far,we'll have to do what our Declaration of Independence requires us to do: alter and/or abolish the government. By force if necessary. And rebuild it with attention to the mistakes made by our founders. They never envisioned career politicians, for example. They never envisioned a judicial theocracy. Even the idea of a public school system (a socialist idea) was not theirs. We need to rebuild from the ground up. Obama and his cronies may give us the opportunity. God can turn anything into good. Remember that.

Even though I admit to overindulging on Tuesday night, Pruden has some points. The quality of life in the US was worse in 2010 than it was in 2008. We cleaned their clock. It was even worse in 2012 and it was not unreasonable to expect that the trend will continue. 2014 almost assuredly promises to be worse than 2012. Lets not blow it this time. With full control of Congress in Republican hands, Zippy will be a true lame duck. Beyond that who can tell in politics? The Constitutional Republic of the Founding Fathers is not dead but has taken a severe beating. But it has before. Think of 1861.

I mean really, how do you lose twice to someone like 0bama? Does anyone think that Reagan would lose to 0bama? And, the establishment Republicans hated Reagan; they wanted Bush Sr. to win.

The deep oceans have yielded many mysteries that have puzzled people for centuries, from the giant squid to huge jellyfish that look like UFOs. To that list add a fish with totally transparent blood. The Ocellated Ice Fish lives in the freezing waters of the Antarctic Ocean, where it manages to keep its body doing all the things that other fish do, but with blood that is absolutely clear, researchers told AFP on Friday. The reason, say experts at Tokyo Sea Life Park, is that the Ocellated Ice Fish has no haemoglobin, making it unique among vertebrates the world over.

A family´s criticism of inflight entertainment allegedly prompted a United flight to be diverted over "security concerns." In a story published in The Atlantic, one family recounts traveling from Denver to Baltimore with two young sons, ages 4 and 8. During the flight, the PG-13-rated detective film "Alex Cross" was shown on drop-down monitors across the plane. The family worried about their young children seeing inappropriate content in the film. "Alarmed by the opening scenes, we asked two flight attendants if they could turn off the monitor; both claimed it was not possible," the family said, according to The Atlantic.

It’s an ill wind that blows nobody good, and a pipeline leaking on somebody else’s front yard can be a godsend, too. The environmentalists who were waging a losing war against the proposed Keystone pipeline woke up to the news of a small pipeline leak in Arkansas and thought it was Christmas morning. If environmentalists were the praying kind, they would say the Arkansas leak was an answer to their prayers. They think it ends the debate over the Keystone pipeline. One green lobbyist says “this should be the nail in the coffin of the Keystone pipeline.”

Park Geun-hye, who in February became the first female president of South Korea, was elected on the back of a campaign to establish "trustpolitik" – a break with the previous decades of hostilities, and a new emphasis on cooperation and confidence between the sworn enemies. Yet with the increasingly rabid rhetoric coming from Pyongyang, Ms Park will be considering putting her pacifist pledge aside. The North has dramatically ramped up its usually-bellicose statements, with the general staff of the North´s army warning last night

Germs are perfect machines of evolution. Their ability to mutate and survive attempts (by humans and nature) to destroy them has led to some being called "superbugs." These bacteria not only take a tragic toll on human life but involve major costs. A new study by MPHonline.org reports that superbugs are responsible for $20 billion in excess health care costs in the U.S. annually, as well as $35 billion in lost wages

We all know that guns can cost lives because the media repeat this message endlessly, as if we could not figure it out for ourselves. But even someone who reads newspapers regularly and watches numerous television newscasts may never learn that guns also save lives-- much less see any hard facts comparing how many lives are lost and how many are saved. But that trade-off is the real issue, not the Second Amendment or the National Rifle Association, which so many in the media obsess about.

The Obama administration treated the creation of "democracy" in the Middle East as a Good Thing. Ironically, those who created the United States of America viewed democracy with fear-- and created a Constitutional republic instead. Everything depends on how you define democracy. In its most basic sense, democracy means majority rule. But there can be majority rule in a free country or in a country with an authoritarian or even a dictatorial government. In this age of sloppy uses of words, many people include freedom in their conception of democracy. But whether democracy leads to freedom is an open question,
