Ron Paul: Election shows U.S. 'far gone'
The Washington Times, by Stephen Dinan

Original Article

Posted By:Envirodude, 11/9/2012 7:32:24 AM

Rep. Ron Paul, whose maverick presidential bids shook the GOP, said in the wake of this week's elections that the country has already veered over the fiscal cliff and he sees no chance of righting ship in a country where too many people are dependent on government. "We're so far gone. We're over the cliff," the Texas Republican told Bloomberg Television's "In the Loop" program. "We cannot get enough people in Congress in the next 5-10 years who will do wise things. (Snip) Mr. Paul, who is retiring after 12 terms in the House

I like Ron Paul, however, had he endorsed Gov Romney, as got his folks out to vote, the results could have been different.

Would he have said the same thing if Romney were elected? On election day I heard him say that there was no difference between the two candiates. No sane person can believe that.

One of the few times I can agree with this curmudgeonly fruit loop.

Just what are all of the Ron Paul supporters going to do now? By failing to vote, they have helped destroy our country. They are no different than the Obamabots. Their loyalty to this idiot cost us the election.

The country is neither gone nor far gone. We survived the FDR years and we'll survive this. We are more resilient than we credit ourselves. A lot of the youngsters who voted in Obama have yet to feel his socialist lash. So take heart. Don't abandon hope.

Ron Paul and his people sure showed Romney supporters!
.... Now they, too, will have to pay the price.

I believe that there are Americans that want to see the country burn down. Romney would have stopped the bleeding but probably not reversed the decay. I personally think Romney would have become more conservative as President. But purists who stayed home want a full reset no matter what the human cost. I think we collapse at some point if congress can't prevent a full blown dictatorship.

Anyone who follows this website realizes that any article on a community that is not white has comments that paint broad brush assumptions about them as a group rather than individuals. For example, the Jewish Community is very intelligent and savvy and see right through the fawning "support" of Israel and Jews by the right wing of the Republican Party, most particularly Sean Hannity. There are 12 Jewish Members in the House of Representatives - 0 are Republican. There are 26 Jewish Members in the Senate - 1 (Eric Cantor) is Republican. And people wonder why the Jewish Community votes for the Democrat Party. Another example, there are lots of people of Indian and Chinese origin who are fiscally conservative. But the religious rhetoric of the R's scares them. It's time for the Republicans to face reality. Keep religion and abortion out of politics. They are personal matters. The US is a secular country not a Christian country... if it was the latter, the founding fathers would have said so in the Constitution.

Read some religious commentaries #10. Behaviourly, Jews have historically assisted in their own destruction. American liberal Jews for the most part could not care less about Israel. Supporting Israel has been the only thing between America and its own final punishment from God.

It is like Rush said, people in this country voted for Santa Claus, not for the opportunity to work hard for themselves. It is all about getting the freebies, no matter the consequences.

#10, cool story bro', and while we'd all love to hear more, submitting the exact same post to multiple articles (like your post #5 in the 'Mitt Romney Had Every Chance...' article) is called serial posting . . . spamming. We don't do that at Ldot.

Anyone who follows this website realizes that.

Ron Paul and his Ronulans are a self-fulfilling prophecy. And, they will never take responsibility for their share in this disaster. Very selfish, narrow-minded people.

#10, to use a Christian illustration, you strain at gnats and swallow camels in your own broad brushed assumptions. You are advising conservatives to keep religion and abortion out of politics, because those are "personal matters". Yet, you apparently have no problem with leftists introducing those same "personal matters" into politics on their terms, and their politics into religion through the use of political power to force religious organizations to go against their religious beliefs regarding contraception and abortion.

You tell white, social conservatives that non-white, fiscal conservatives fear them. Surely we are not to believe that the so-called christian liberation theology being implemented through policies of the leadership in the Democrat Party is less "scary" to them because Obama has enough pigmentation to darken his skin.

Conservatives aren't the threat to freedom and liberty.

#10 osting the exact same paragraph on many threads cheapens the dialog, shows contempt of others, and demonstrates a selfish need for attention.

Let´s see LeBron James do this. Ashlee Arnau, a cheerleader at William Carey University in Hattiesburg, Miss., made an incredible front-flip half-court shot Thursday night at halftime of the school´s men´s basketball game that became an instant Internet sensation. The ball was placed on the floor at midcourt. Arnau approached it with a running start, did a front-flip, grabbing the ball while she was upside down, and then launching it toward the basket while her legs swung forward. Swish! "I really don´t practice at all," Arnau told the AP in a phone interview.

Puerto Rico votes on US

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — Puerto Ricans faced a fundamental question on Election Day: Should they change their ties with the United States? Citizens in the U.S. island territory cannot vote in the U.S. presidential election, but many were excited to participate in a referendum on whether to push the territory toward statehood, greater autonomy or independence. Car horns blared and party flags waved after polling stations closed following what election officials said was a high voter turnout. During the day, many voters carried umbrellas against the blistering tropical sun as temperatures neared 90 degrees Fahrenheit (31 degrees Celsius).

His words were raw and honest and hand-written on a sheet of loose leaf paper. They offered the only explanation Andy and Karen Taggart have to their son’s decision to commit suicide on that summer day. “I hate that I’m putting you through this,” he wrote. “The last thing I want is to bring you all grief but I cannot go on living any longer.

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”

Obama´s gun control proposals have run into resistance on Capitol Hill, leaving their fate in doubt. Efforts by Senate Democrats to reach compromise with Republicans over expanding required federal background checks have yet to yield an agreement, and conservatives were promising to try

Beginning a week of high pressure on gun control, the White House on Monday accused some Republican senators of cowardice for planning to filibuster gun legislation without allowing the full Senate to vote on President Obama’s initiatives. “If they oppose this legislation, have the courage to say so on the floor and vote no,” said White House press secretary Jay Carney. “Don’t block it. Don’t hide behind a procedural action to prevent a vote. That’s the wrong thing to do, and that’s how the president clearly feels.”

There was growing buzz over the weekend that a bipartisan agreement on gun control — a deal that would expand background checks — could hit the floor as early as this week. However, any deal could be derailed by the looming threat of a Republican filibuster involving Texas Sen. Ted Cruz. With Cruz standing proudly in the way of any gun legislation, Democrats are trying to make him pay a political price — and even a couple of high-profile Republicans are questioning his tactics.
