Changing Demographics?
More Like Enduring Ignorance

Jewish World Review, by Arnold Ahlert

Original Article

Posted By:reilly, 11/9/2012 7:04:43 AM

By now, you've heard from most of the chattering classes as to why Democrats in general, and Barack Obama in particular, did so well on election night. You've heard about changing demographics, an opportune storm, media malfeasance, etcetera, etcetera, ad nauseam.Let me make it much simpler. On election night, for the umpteenth time, I went to the local food mart, and gave the high school kid working the register a five dollar bill for something that cost $2.32. She punched it into the computer, after which I gave her the thirty-two cents. By now, most of you know where this is going:
Staff split headline, added text.

Comments:
Arnold says "give Barry and Company everything they want, without an iota of resistance." I couldn't agree more.

there were 14 or 15 million less voters this time than in 2008. a better candidate could have won this election in a landslide. problem is that the republican and democratic parties are not capable of allowing good people to run for office. too much corruption and not enough honor and integrity.

Now THAT is food for thought.

Can't blame this on Mitt. He is an honorable and sincere man. So is his family, first class everyone of them. The problem is "enduring Ignorance" like the author says. Everyone I know is shocked and sad, so unexpected. Yes, I am bitter and don't even care what happens, so let them have what they want and in four years, we'll see what is left of America, if anything. And we, like our forefathers, will pick up the pieces and become great again!

The beauty of this strategy is that it deprives the O crowd of someone to blame. He's going to get what he wants anyway by fiat and regulations. Maybe Boehner is smart rather than craven after all.

Reply 5 - Posted by: doodah, 11/9/2012 7:36:56 AM     (No. 9001717)

Forgot to add, I still believe that the outcome is Ron Paul's supporters' revenge. They stayed away from the polls in droves. We have a local Paul supporter and we believe that is what happened.

noproblems: What are you talking about. Mitt Romney is an honorable, God fearing man. NO it was not about the candidate, it was about the electorate. I say this column was right on. We will all have to suffer because of the "gimme free stuff" crowd.

We may have lost this country by losing the important ground war ...our schools.

This may sound clever, but it's not. Socialists have no shame, no guilt, and no memory. The "go ahead and give them what they want" strategy will only result in them taking everything. And once they have, that becomes their new normal. Forever.

A woman would be insulted if you prescribed the "just lean back and take it" strategy for dealing with a rapist. Well, these people are cultural and economic rapists. Isn't anyone going to resist? Are there no men left?

Reply 10 - Posted by: pros7767, 11/9/2012 7:51:52 AM     (No. 9001756)

Funny, I was thinking the same thing yesterday. He's going to do whatever he wants to do anyway whether by regulation or executive order. I hadn't thought of the voting present part. That was my only glitch.

It will be painful to watch and suffer through but if he can't blame anyone, ultimately it will fall on him. The media will not be able to cover for him indefinitely.

Reply 11 - Posted by: maryann4629, 11/9/2012 7:57:42 AM     (No. 9001763)

The problem wasn't the candidate. It was the media. The MSM defined Mitt Romney, "he put his dog on the roof of his car!!" "he cut a gay kid's hair!!" "he gave a woman cancer!!" "vulture capitalist!!" blah, blah, blah, etc, etc.

But it wouldn't have mattered who the candidate would have been. The media would have done the same to any Republican. Remember Rick Perry? Remember ******head? They had to dig back in history to come up with a rented hunting camp with an offensive name to slime him--but they did it, even to the point of sending a "reporter" out to the camp to find the painted-over rock, through which we were solemnly told, a couple of letters were still visible. It made me want to hurl.

This is what we are up against. The media will destroy any Republican candidate, and there is nothing we can do about it.

Rather than try to emulate success, our so-special, diverse population ridicules and criticizes it. I for one am sick of people who can't make it so they run down people who can. It's the loser population taking over, and I'm ready to bail.

You may have seen me post this before, but I'll do it again. The problem of a stupid electorate, as brought out in this article, will not be solved over night. What is needed is vouchers for our students. The Marxist teacher unions have infiltrated every aspect of our public educational system and poisoned the well. With vouchers, there would be competition between private and public schools. The public schools will have to change or eventually wither on the vine. Believe me, in most cases, they will choose to wither on the vine rather than change.

Where were the ads about Obama's abortion position? Where were the ads calling him out for plain lying? Where were the ads about Solyndra? You stupid...........

And here we go again. Boehner offering to 'Reach across the aisle.

Whenever does a liberal 'reach across the aisle?!'

I would add to this "stupid," the word "entitled". If there were one attitude I see over and over and over again, it's the idea that they are entitled to everything NOW, that successful people have worked very hard and sacrificially to achieve.

Certainly there are exceptions and I'm proud my kids are. But believe me...

I completely agree. I further suggest that we all tighten our belts quit our jobs, quit paying taxes, and let Uncle Sugar take care of us (it is apparently our right as Americans). The sooner the federal government dies of starvation, the better.

Another explanation which will be Voter Fraud helped play a Huge part in this election Again.
Allen West in Florida was ahead again and there are more votes to be counted. He has filed with the court to have the ballots and machines impounded in Ft. St. Luci.
An article yesterday investigated 10 counties in Colorado and in ALL 10 counties----more votes than registered voters and when do many counties vote 100 %. Thousands of votes in these 10 counties had to be fraudulent.

#11. You are correct about the media. Today, 3 days after the election, out local paper actually ran a story about the deficit with a chart showing how Obama has run it up as compared to other presidents. Now they are concerned, not 3 months ago, now.

Reply 23 - Posted by: saildreamer, 11/9/2012 8:18:54 AM     (No. 9001830)

It is a huge risk but it just might work. Put the pain where the problem is. I agree the downside is that we may never get back to where we need to be because the central govt becomes too powerful and the people become too dependent. Hopefully people will wake up before it becomes that bad. Right now the left is able to accomplish their goals under the cover of blaming the "obstructionist Republicans" for the result of the poor economy. If we stand down, they won't be able to do that.

Meanwhile, I am giving my business to conservative companies. If I had children, I would do anything I could to either home school or put them in a conservative private school. I do support Hillsdale College already.

My liberal relatives are getting a card for Christmas this year that says, "I think you will be pleased to know that President Obama gave my Christmas present for you to someone whom he decided is more deserving."

I agree, I am tired of death by a thousand cuts is just prolongs the misery. Sure, vote "present", what other choice do you have?

The only thing the author did not add is, avoid the yellow press, no need to justify the vote.

Reply 25 - Posted by: Fiesta del sol, 11/9/2012 8:23:17 AM     (No. 9001843)

Can we start taxing those making over 500,000K at confiscatory rates? How about a film star/director/newsreader tax? Make Tom Hanks, Katie Couric, and Spielberg own this. Let them pay their fair share. Repeal all tax cuts, even the ones from 94. Make everyone have some skin in the game. I am seriously hoping the Republican Party endorses this.

Charge welfare recipients an EBT usage 'fee' of $5 every time they use it. We have to pay extra when we use our debit cards. A birth control tax. Charge an administrative fee for every b/c refill. A dog tax. There are an awful lot of libs with dogs and no kids, they are not paying their fair share.

Reply 26 - Posted by: Vivi, 11/9/2012 8:25:42 AM     (No. 9001849)

I agree. The government is unable to provide all the free stuff the Democrats promised. The Democrats know this. All they care about is their stupid zero sum game politics in order to gain short term power.

Ahlert talks about ignorance, but ignorance alone isn't enough without a party willing to lie about our economics to the stupid people for votes. Judging by the number of eff Romney tweets from young people last week, we are Greece. They have debt, a horrible jobs economy, and now expectations that their vote for Obama will provide. I'm just wondering if the little darlings have the gumption to do anything but tweet profanities.

Reply 27 - Posted by: clancy52, 11/9/2012 8:27:59 AM     (No. 9001856)

Ignorance combined with a need of security by the "single women" who wanted their "First Time" to be rememberable, remarkable, and likely leading to remorse like other non-cognitive impulses. NObama offered them free contraception and then a free obortion when they didn't remember to use it. Also, he offers prolonging the government handouts, so that no work needs to be done.

All the Republicans offered was a path leading to jobs--who wants a job when you get "money" for free??? not to mention cell phones...

Reply 28 - Posted by: Rhythm10, 11/9/2012 8:28:35 AM     (No. 9001859)

I totally agree with Mr. Ahlert’s approach as stated in the above referenced article.
I’d like to expand the concept into an area that’s considered “social” as opposed to economic, though, to me, they’re intertwined.

The election has totally reversed my position on one thing: abortion.

I now want it [promoted to, encouraged of, and performed on Leftoids*] as often as possible every time it's requested by any woman for any reason at all.

Consequently, most births will occur in intact two-parent conservative households which will not force everyone else to support an additional life-long indoctrinated liberal / communist who grows up to vote against the best interests of our country. That will be enormously less expensive in the long run.

In the event that any complications of the procedure(s) result in the death of the mother or their inability to procreate in the future, that's just an added bonus.

(*After November 6th, 2012, I'm tempted to advocate for the above to be forced / mandatory, but I'm not quite there yet.)

Harsh? No, survival.

Think of it as "out-Cloward/Pivening" them... crashing THEIR system!

I could expand on the above much more, but the essence is there.

Also, it’s been such a thrill to propose such to Left-leaners, only to hear them retort with classic anti-abortion responses and to subsequently witness their astonishment to what they’ve just said! I’m tempted to pass out neck braces to them before telling them this concept so as to guard against the resulting (mental & emotional) whiplash. (Nah!)

Reply 29 - Posted by: upstate54, 11/9/2012 8:30:14 AM     (No. 9001865)

Yes, it is definitely food for thought. I like the idea for voting present.

Unlike some posters, I believe that obama would have won no matter who the Republicans had nominated. The country has passed the tipping point - there now are more people who expect everything handed to them than there are hardworking taxpayers to prop them up. With stupidity and demographics, I only see this getting worse.

Perhaps only a radical approach will change the downward trajectory of our beloved country.

Reply 30 - Posted by: crabam, 11/9/2012 8:31:48 AM     (No. 9001868)

Folks --
Anyone who follows this website realizes that any article on a community that is not white has comments that paint broad brush assumptions about them as a group rather than individuals. For example, the Jewish Community is very intelligent and savvy and see right through the fawning "support" of Israel and Jews by the right wing of the Republican Party, most particularly Sean Hannity. There are 12 Jewish Members in the House of Representatives - 0 are Republican. There are 26 Jewish Members in the Senate - 1 (Eric Cantor) is Republican. And people wonder why the Jewish Community votes for the Democrat Party. Another example, there are lots of people of Indian and Chinese origin who are fiscally conservative. But the religious rhetoric of the R's scares them. It's time for the Republicans to face reality. Keep religion and abortion out of politics. They are personal matters. The US is a secular country not a Christian country... if it was the latter, the founding fathers would have said so in the Constitution.

Reply 31 - Posted by: tommy411, 11/9/2012 8:32:57 AM     (No. 9001873)

I agree with No. 9. It may be too late anyway but if we are just passive, by the end of 4 years they'll have taken away our gun rights, free internet access, talk radio, freedom to travel, freedom of communication, privacy, etc. They'll have total control of food, gasoline, electricity, natural gas, health care, medicine. How do we ever recover then? We'd be like North Korea. Even after the inevitable total economic collapse they'll remain in total control and we'll have no ability to fight back.

After getting a couple more lefty Supreme Court justices, they'll just declare the Constitution obsolete and short of a military coup, no one can stop it.

Reply 32 - Posted by: TexasRose, 11/9/2012 8:33:33 AM     (No. 9001877)

FTA - "Give the people what they want--until they can't stand it anymore."

That's what God did when the Israelites were in the wilderness and complained and wanted meat because they were tired of manna. He gave them so much that they had heaps of dead quails all around their tents. Then, God sent a plague (probably from the dead quails around their tents!). This article shows how America's young can't think and reason, but we also know that America has turned away from God. Number one thing we need is to get back to God. I think we need to quit complaining and still keep praying. God can do so much more than we think!

Reply 33 - Posted by: fed-up, 11/9/2012 8:36:59 AM     (No. 9001888)

Another thing Ive noticed is that the media (and of course then the Obots echo the sentiment),ridicule anything that threatens them. Look at what they did to Palin, how they talk about home schooling, (Tebow). Anything that points to a successful alternative is pooh-poohed as right winged nut cases.

I don't know if we can withstand having our country go through what the author states. How do you recover from devastation like that? And do you really think any of them will admit it was the wrong path? You can't fix stupid.
My kids are grown and thank heavens are informed and responsible citizens. I can only hope they can turn this around, because it is lost for me and mine.

Reply 34 - Posted by: texsupreme, 11/9/2012 8:39:42 AM     (No. 9001895)

As for me, I plan to completely disconnect from this evil government and its' actions. My heart aches for the future of my children and grandchildren but I can't live my few remaining years trying to fight every stupid law and executive order that are demanded by the idiots. I am normally not a quitter, but I am tired.

The country should be allowed to bankrupt itself, but I don't think that it will come back. Despotism will be the result as the ignorant masses demand a king to come and take control and edict that all of the suffering stop. Freedom will be gone. I truly believe now that this fraud in the WH is the antichrist. Satan will use him to destroy the USA in preparation for the end times. My hopes lie in the KING that will win in the end and take us home with him.

Give 'em everything they want until they're sick of it and learn their lesson? HOGWASH. What a load of garbage. You assume they'd learn their lesson instead of becoming even more dependent on the state forever. Do you actually think it would work? Remember, this is the nation that loves the Kardashians, Jersey Shore, The View, Saturday Night Live, the list is endless.

My husband works full time and I began a part-time $7.25-an-hour job this summer to help pay for Catholic school for our 6-year-old son. It's about 3 grand a year. They had a mock presidential election at his elementary school and Romney won, but Obama got a full 3rd of the votes. It sickens me to the core.

I totally agree with him. Selfishness won. They sowed the wind, so let them reap the whirlwind. No more charity, no more giving. Just take care of my family, people I personally know who've earned the right to my charity, and me.

What else can we do? Like Paul told us in the Bible: Live a quiet life, mind our own business, and earn our own living. All the worker bees can work quietly amongst ourselves supporting our businesses and families, not the parasites.

Reply 37 - Posted by: Mr. Know-It-All, 11/9/2012 8:45:23 AM     (No. 9001912)

I once heard that the best way to quit smoking is not to try to cut back little by little. It just makes your cravings all that much stronger. Instead you force yourself to smoke 3-4 times as much as you normally would, until you're so sick of it you're happy to put the smokes away and endure the withdrawals.

This is along the same lines. This particular strategy had occurred to me. It just might work. And if it doesn't? Well, we're already heading there, might as well go ahead and get it over with. Then I can just stop saving for retirement and blow everything I have now and run up all the debt I want. No need to worry, Uncle Samski will take care of me with food stamps and a free cell phone after I'm bankrupt.

Given ghe greed of humans, I doubt this would work...it certaily didn't in Europe.

The people will just keep taking.

I participated in a charity at Christmas gift giving exercise...one stop we made the woman with 3 kids acted uninterested, her kids were very happy...then as we got ready to leave to go to the next family the mother said "Is that all you've got!"

Well there you have it, human nature. A free thing is not respected, but when one works for it the value is priceless.

#9 an #31 have it right. We will not be able to come back if we give them what they want. It would be our own Arab Spring. Who will fill the power vacuum when everything collapses? Not small government freedom-lovers. The Marxists are ready and waiting.

The pain and horror that awaits us may seem doable in the abstract, but how will you handle your kids and grandkids going hungry? What will you do when your brother is hauled off to prison for refusing to turn over his guns? How will you enjoy losing your home? Thank God our founders didn't decide to do nothing and let things get really bad in order to convince their fellow citizens. We are Americans and we are better than this!

Sometimes I get disgusted with my own party. We had an extraordinary candidate whom nearly everyone here praised to high heaven right before the election. He was just what we needed: a good and decent man, a Christian, a good and admired family man, and one who seemed to have just what was needed to correct obama's mess. He was drawing amazing crowds. But once the election was over, it's criticism, criticism, criticism.

I cannot imagine the Romneys going from adoration to this in such a few days. It seems no one can please us. PLEASE!! He doesn't deserve this. Get over it.

And I, for one, hold fast to my belief that there was evil fraud that brought this about. We just have to figure a way to conter it in the future.

Have some heart!

It's going to happen anyway, I think it's important that it happens while we still have a generation who was educated in skills such as math, reading, writing. Someone has to be around to pick up the pieces.

Part of the destruction of the Sitcom Generation has been the decimation of family on all levels, particularly in respect of the elders.

#30. The Constitution points out that our rights are endowed by our Creator, not Mickey Mouse.
Jews, in their desire to prove how intelligent they are, vote for liberals without grasping that they are voting for the demise of Israel and the Jewish People.

Gov. Brownback, Kansas, has announced that the state won't be 'partnering' with the feds on Obamacare. If the feds want to set it up here, they're on their own. He did say that the legislature, if it wishes, can take this up. But I doubt there's anyone over there crazy enough to sponsor such a bill. It's the Ghandi approach and will be fun to watch. Stay tuned!

As I have noted elsewhere during the last few days, the outcome of the election is no surprise when you realize the mean IQ in this country (and of the average voter) is only 100. And that's an average, which suggests that there are plenty of people in the 80 - 95 point category who were also voting.

Ehlert approaches this same problem from another perspective, and suggests a solution -- namely give these good folks everything they voted for, in spades -- and eventually, very eventually, given the intellectual slowness of the average American, they may catch on.

Yes, I know it is not done to dis ones fellow Americans, but I am not a politician (obviously) and I am not about to congratulate a bunch of borderline deficients on their choice to ruin our great country.

Reply 48 - Posted by: crabam, 11/9/2012 9:16:36 AM     (No. 9002023)

#45 -- "Rights are endowed by our Creator" That phrase is found in the Declaration of Independence not in the COnstitution. The Constituion is a governing document of hte Country. The Dec of Independence is not. Sorry to burst your bubble. Also, the drafters deliberately used the term "Creator" rather than "Jesus" or the Christian God. This is getting old. Some people on this website want the government out of their lives and their religion, but have not qualms about imposing their views on others when they are in control of the government. Keep religion and abortion out of politics. Concentrate on fiscal matters and the Republicans will start winning elections again. The obsession with rape and abortion, particularly Republican male candidates simply creeps out women, including conservative women I know.

The Republicans must begin today on the development of a new beginning that uses very tough, intelligent people with a strong strategy that employees campaign strategists and operatives who are more ruthless than the those of the Democrats. As much as anything it was the "nice-nice"" attitude and approach of the McCain and Romney campaigns that dealt them a death blow. It doesn't matter how many times you kiss a rattlesnake, you'll still be bitten. Next time it must be no holds bared and give them no quarter.

Interesting that this article is in the Jewish World review.
Maybe if the Jewish Voters did not join with the black voters in voting in lock step for the democrats, even though the republicans do more to promote the interests of both groups, we would not have reelecvted a socialist who has vowed to destroy the capitalist nation and promote radical islam in its quest to destroy Israel.

One rule of thumb the republicans might want to remember, in the future, is to pick a candidate that will CARRY their own state. Hint: Gore didn't even carry Tennessee.

So the repubs might ask, "duh, how are we to know if they will carry their state or not?". Hint: If the state is not a swing state, if it traditionally defaults to bleu in a presidential election, your nominee was governor or senator or congressman from there, don't even THINK about nominating this person. Gingrich would certainly have carried Ga, Santorum/Pa-not so discernible.
STOP running RINOS!

Who would have thought that Wisconsin would not vote Ryan, after the Scott Walker recall election failed? Does that make sense? No.

None of this would ever have happened, regardless of changing demographics of any kind, if only we had kept the voting rules of 200 years ago. Back then, to be a voter you had to own land or a business, period.

However, congress is left to clean up the "man-made disaster" it created. Democrats, the Left, have worked tirelessly and with purpose to infiltrate and then dominate all means of education. They have wiped out our National memory bank. We cannot fight ignorance alone. We need all those institutions tp help this Nation survive. They are all dedicated to our National destruction. Atlas needs to shurg and let the rabble have what their rabid hearts desire. It's more like giving the Leftists enough rope to hang themselves. There is not much, in any case, we can do to prevent this. It is important to register and explain opposition to erroneous policies in order to document that efforts were made to avoid them. But the real hope at this stage is that by the implementation of Leftist fantasy schemes their unintended and undesirable results will awaken and enlighten a sufficient number of citizens to bring discredit on the Leftist establishment as a whole. I think this is perfectly possible, but people are going to have to see and experience for themselves what the consequences of fallacious Leftist theories are. We have seen that it is impossible to warn them of the dangers in advance. Like children and teenagers -which many are, emotionally speaking- they refuse to listen and cannot hear. Actual experience is the only path to growth and change for such people. The true radicals, of course, will never learn from their mistakes. They will always rationalize and deny them, no matter what. But the problem is not the small number of such true radicals. The problem is the vast number of Americans who lack the experience, knowledge, wisdom, maturity and judgment to foresee that Leftist schemes, which are based upon a fundamentally erroneous understanding of human beings and the nature of reality, cannot possibly work and are bound to cause all kinds of additional problems. Many, though not all of such wishful thinkers are capable of learning from what amounts to a massive political experiment.

More than changing demographics, I think more people are concerned with their personal freedom. What else do 47% of Americans have to be concerned with? They get a comfortable existence financially already from us.

So, they worry now that Republicans will constrict their access to Weed and marriage for their gay friends/relatives. It's why they continued to vote for BJ Clinton, even after he was exposed as a horndog.

Republicans felt a need to impose social conservative values on the country, but in the end the socialists get to impose their fiscal liberal (socialist) values on Republicans.

Pretty obvious this demographic bit is little more than Marxist spin.
Romney lost because of the negative long-drawn out primaries where Gingrich et al painted him as a plutocrat
vulture capitalist.

Then, the Blessed Hussein and his Democrat lackeys ran all those ads painting Romney in that mold started in the primaries, and pounded him without being refuted for months between the time he nailed the nomination and the election.
Didn't help he was a blue-blood Ivy Leaguer RINO. Class envy really works, well.

Net effect was, overall vote was greatly depressed, and Obama , who had more to lose, won, barely.
Is not any mandate or anything close to being the end of us.

#60, you need to understand that a good candidate isn't just one who says all the right conservative things. Since the Nixon-Kennedy TV debate, optics drive as much as if not more than philosophy.

The Ron Paul supporters can not grasp this, as they had their man who was saying all the right things in their mind, but everyone else saw a timid, high-pitched contrarian who reminded them of their crazy uncle.

And the Paul cult and Gary Johnson vote got Obama elected. They couldn't grasp that Election Day isn't the time to fight primary battles. So all they did is help elect the worst of all options. They're no help at all.

What you have to know is that the conservative has to sell himself in order to sell his agenda. And that perfect candidate is rarely available. You go to war with what you have.

discover that they can vote themselves money from the public treasury. From that

Amen and amen. Time to let the electorate feel the consequences of their choices. Republicans can still fight, but they must pick their fights carefully. Let NerØbama's economic agenda sail through, vote "present", and let the public experience the pain apparently required to bring them to reality. It's not "silly". There are similar strategies, like dealing with young adults still living at home, like doctors deliberately inducing a coma to save a patient, etc. It's called tough medicine and tough love.

Compromise or opposition would give Reid and the Democrats political cover, either way. That's what they can't control right now. Don't give it to them.

It satisfies your pledge to Grover Nyquist and to your electorate. You will not be voting for any tax increase. You'll simply abstain.

There are other battles to be fought, however. There's the battle of hearts and minds. Speak out loudly about the folly of the Democrat approach. "These policies will lead to disaster, but we will not stand in the way of what you chose. Talk to us once you've had enough."

Then there are the foreign policy and other issues that must still be fought. You can still block treaties that would undermine the Constitution. You can block nominations of radical appointees. You can continue to use your oversight powers in the House to expose corruption and cover-up. These can be done to honor your oath to preserve and defend the Constitution from enemies foreign and domestic, without incurring blame for the recession/depression to come.

Fight hard, but fight smart. It's an asymmetric war. Don't fire until you see the whites of their eyes But you'll need a new general .. er Speaker.

What he is proposing requires a true leap of faith. It requires us to ask ourselves "what do I worship?" Do we worship God, or do we worship our savings, our 401Ks, our houses, our jobs, the "stuff" we have acquired? Because we will probably lose it all if we take this course and allow the socialists to wreck America. Are we willing to risk having to start over with absolutely nothing to rebuild America? At our age?

Are we willing to step off into the abyss with nothing more than "a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence"? Are we willing to "pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor" with the faith that God will guide us through to the other side? Some once were. Are we?

Going Galt is not the answer, folks! And Rand had it right in the book. Amazed that there are no readers of Atlas Shrugged here who really remember how it ended. To the best of my recollection, the productive and makers had already withdrawn from society and the aristocracy of pull had nothing more, Galt's final statement on the radio in collapsing NYC was 'Brother, You Asked For It!' Fine, but....

The problem with Atlas Shrugged's scenario and the 'force the collapse' stratagem is the disaster which will happen to practically all of us. Only the top creators went to Galt's Gulch. We the workers, even those most productive and honest in business, were utterly and completely destroyed. There's a character, Eddie Willers, who was Dagny Taggart's best executive, and he was reduced to crying on railroad tracks when the last Taggart train ceased to run. No, he didn't get to Galt's Gulch.

Somehow we have to not withdraw entirely, change the mindset of education, keep our families together, keep working and paying taxes, survive...yet try to reverse going over the cliff. I still feel like we blew our best chance, and I'm tired.

People here still do not understand the power of the media. Women stockpiled tampons and BC because they were convinced RR would take them away. They were motivated to vote against something that didn't exist. That is why Obama won.

The Republicans will be successfully blamed for all the troubles coming our way if they do anything other than vote present.

There are two options ahead. Give up. Try to be as isolated and self sufficient as possible. Or, begin an underground campaign knowing it will take decades to retake this country. Kind of like how the progressives have just now successfully won their 100-year campaign to turn the US into a socialist country.

The Republicans should hasten the fiscal crisis and focus on key firewalls. 1) Let all the tax cuts expire. Every single one. Most of this country will be astonished to discover Bush cut taxes for everyone. Only a few people know this now. If the taxes are hiked only for those above $250k, Democrats will say they got rid of the Bush tax cuts and history will be permanently rewritten. 2) Delay complete amnesty for Mexican immigrants as long as possible. Allow work visas but require a 7 year waiting period for citizenship. 3) Hold the debt ceiling. Taxes can be redone later, but letting that go will make it even more difficult to recover in the future. 4) Focus on trying to save as many of our soldiers as possible as we retreat from Afghanistan. 5) Locally begin to take back the schools, local boards, newspapers, etc. 6) Identify friends locally and help each other through the next four years of he11 and then rebuild from the ashes.

There is a lot that I don't believe about this election. To start with, I don't believe the quoted final vote count, I don't think it is available yet. Also how many people in New York and the east coast states didn't vote because of Sandy. Both Republicans and Democrats knew those states were lost causes for Romney anyway.

If you looked at the number of electoral votes between the candidates you should realize that the Democrats just had to win about 5 key states to bag the election. I think they stole those states through crooked technology. The other states were either cinch blue or red states.

On the other hand, what do I know. What was really important is that the City of Los Angeles passed a law that requires condoms when filming porno movies. Cool, now they have lost the Porno business. Producers will move to a city near you to escape the condom regulations.

Rather than dreaming about crashing and cutting off our nose to spite our face, we need to do some judo type thinking when it comes to the economy. Let's turn Dem strategies against them to improve the economy and decrease immigration, which is creating little ethnic ghettoes, non-citizen voters and votes based on color, at the same time.

1) Suspend H1-B, immediately return all the so-called 'essential' high-skilled guest workers to India and China. Screw Microsoft. (About 90% have faked-up credentials anyway, and the Chinese are putting spy bugs in systems) They can go sabotage their systems than ours.
2) Mandate that companies of over 500 workers in-source worker training for unfilled positions
3) Mandate 100% US sourcing of government products and services
4) To increase long-term investment, reduce capital gains taxation on long term investments on a sliding scale. If it's held for a year, it's taxed like personal income. Slide it down to there so that 5 years might be 0 and longer could even be negative (not my idea, Clayton Christensen's)

Add to this that outsourcing will be taxed at a minimum of 50% on the differential: cost of making in US less cost of making offshore. Apply this to services (IT, telemarketing, creative services, medical e.g. radiology, IT) as well.

The only exception to outsourcing I would make is Canada. We have always been close and we should not punish a friend. We can also make a trade for their oil and yes, build that pipeline.

Unfortunately, as much as I think this is probably a good idea, there is one giant problem with this, the U. S. Dollar. Even thought we have governmental fiscal mismanagement that rank right the "PIIGs" (Portugal, Italy, Ireland & Greece), we are not (yet) seeing the consequences. Here's why:

The Federal Reserve can create money out of thin air, just by running the printing presses. They can do this because 1. The Dollar is not pegged to the value of a hard asset, like gold, and 2, the U.S. dollar is the international reserve currency. Which means that all large international transactions are valued in U.S. Dollars.

Until and unless the rest of the world decides to swap the Dollar for the Euro or Yuan, Ben and Barry can continue on their merry way of printing and spending. When that happens, and it will if the Fed keeps printing money, the collapse on the U.S. will be like Argentina in the 1990's X 100, on steroids.

Invest in metals, Gold, Silver & lead.

So I heard this monring Gingrich say on a local radio talk show that the Republican Party has to be more inclusive; more blacks, Heespanics, etc. So what does Condi Ice, Mia Love, Gov Martinez, etc represent?

I keep hearing that Heespnaics are a natural constituency for Republicans; family values, religion, etc. Really? Seems the majority of Heespanics vote for what they can get from the government and for those who have to deal with Central American gangbangers - so much for family values.

As for blacks - well, what can be said except that the stain of that peculiar institution, slavery, will continue to stain this country hundreds of years after the last slave died.

I don't need any politican of any party preaching to me about morality, the duty to help others, etc., but when my tax dollars are supporting the results of someone else's lack of morality then I want morals discussed because it is a public policy issue.

Those of us who play by the rules; work hard, etc are a minority now. The end will come eventually when the money runs out and ther is no more dollars to print.

In the meantime, Obama has four more years to visit the rest of the world and hone his golf game.

This plan sounds like the knee jerk emotional reaction that we sometime have after a crushing defeat. After a few days we try to learn from our mistakes and get back in the fight for next time. We need to see reality and understand that each failure makes the future victory more difficult and further into the future. This plan ( give Obama his way, vote present, and help him step on the gas rather than stepping on the brake) speeds up the process and makes it much more painful. It could work as long as we are clear up front it means a disaster is coming sooner rather than later. This is needed because the ignorant will not understand the reason for the disaster no matter how painful. The present disaster in the economy is still blamed on Bush who is out of power for 4 years. Why would the coming total national collapse be any different. If the ignorant in the population do not take the right lesson from the disaster how will they learn from it?

We absolutely cannot do what the author suggests, no matter what a delicious thought it is. Whatsoever the government takes, it NEVER gives back.
I am so flipping heartsick and weary, but we must fight on.

I have been thinking along the same line as the author: ram this philosophy down their progressive throats. They will take it like a rape on a rainy day. But, it is a risky endeavor.

I also challenge to the right to do as the left did: community organization. LBJ's War on Poverty funded community organization and by extension the Black Panthers. The right must do the same but with conservative philosophy. I don't have the exact pathway set up but there must be a revolution among elementary school children about the value of a hand up and not a hand out.

And, the right needs to get on the same page. We aren't. Conquer and divide and they win.

I listened to Hannity yesterday until I couldn't take it any longer-he blamed Romney's loss on not embracing Sarah Palin. Palin could have endorsed Romney before the 11th hour. She could have led her legion. Instead, she led them stay home. Our country is in peril with the likes of Valerie Jarrett negotiating with the Iranians because Sarah Palin, of reality TV, got her feelings hurt? Palin, Hannity insult my intellegence. Palin needs to face up to the fact the 35 and younger college educated see her as a joke. She and her family have done nothing to correct this idea.

FTA: "After two generations of leftist indoctrination by unionized educators, whose quid pro quo relationship with the Democrat party is written in stone...."

There has been a massive shift in ideology because our heritage has been stolen. We no longer believe in the "land where our fathers died, land of the Pilgrims' pride." How many children, and adults, for that matter, even know the song "My Country 'Tis of Thee", as just one example?

The shift is not due to ethnic demographics, but rather the demographics of an uneducated citizenry that is willing to squander liberty (if it even knows the meaning of the word) for an 0bama phone and an 0bama mortgage. They are willing to squander their liberty and future for 30 pieces of silver. And that is why 0bama was elected in the first place, and why he was reelected on November 6.

Changing Demographics?

By now, you've heard from most of the chattering classes as to why Democrats in general, and Barack Obama in particular, did so well on election night. You've heard about changing demographics, an opportune storm, media malfeasance, etcetera, etcetera, ad nauseam.Let me make it much simpler. On election night, for the umpteenth time, I went to the local food mart, and gave the high school kid working the register a five dollar bill for something that cost $2.32. She punched it into the computer, after which I gave her the thirty-two cents. By now, most of you know where this is going:

Sen. John McCain says he doesn´t understand the threats from some of his Republican colleagues to filibuster a bill on background checks to buy guns. "I don´t understand it," the Arizona Republican said on Sunday of the threat coming from Sen. Rand Paul,Sen. Ted Cruz, Sen. Mike Lee and nine other Republicans. "The purpose of the United States Senate is to debate and to vote and to let the people know where we stand.” "What are we afraid of? ... If this issue is as important as we all think it is, why not take ... it up and debate?"

Michelle Obama has admitted that she is already tired of the bangs she first sported in January. The First Lady said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight: ´Bangs are a day-by-day proposition. They´re starting to grow out, get a little irritating.´ Still, she hasn´t let her hairdo woes get her down. ´It´s okay,´ she said after her initial complaint. ´We´ll be good.´ The first indication that her hairstyle was becoming a burden came about last weekend, when Malia, 14, was spotted adjusting her mother´s hair during the White House Easter Egg Roll.

Margaret Thatcher, the first female British Prime Minister who gained worldwide renown as the Iron Lady has died aged 87. Developing a formidable partnership with President Ronald Reagan during the 1980s, Mrs. Thatcher stood up to the ´Evil Empire´ of the Soviet Union, eventually witnessing its collapse. Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”

Los Angeles — Some people have had it with TV. They´ve had enough of the 100-plus channel universe. They don´t like timing their lives around network show schedules. They´re tired of $100-plus monthly bills. A growing number of them have stopped paying for cable and satellite TV service, and don´t even use an antenna to get free signals over the air. (Snip) Last month, the Nielsen Co. started labeling people in this group "Zero TV" households, because they fall outside the traditional definition of a TV home. On Friday, Sean Hannity brought Pat Smith, mother of the late Sean Smith, on his radio program. The 34-year-old information management officer was one of four Americans murdered in the Benghazi embassy attack on September 11, 2012. In the chilling interview, a distraught Ms. Smith, in tears, pleaded for answers and spoke of the efforts to silence her. Ms. Smith first relayed how her son, prior to the attack, requested additional security in advance and warned the State Department: He did tell them, ahead of time, he typed it into his little typewriter over there,

Put out an all-points bulletin: Millions of Americans have gone missing from the workforce. Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. The vanishing trend is more than a decade old, but it accelerated during the Great Recession. Throughout 2012, economists held out hope that it had stopped. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank

Susan Patton, the Princeton alumna who became famous for her letter urging Ivy League women to use their college years to find a mate, has been denounced as a traitor to feminism, to coeducation, to the university ideal. But really she’s something much more interesting: a traitor to her class. Her betrayal consists of being gauche enough to acknowledge publicly a truth that everyone who’s come up through Ivy League culture knows intuitively —

Chelsea Clinton has raised her profile in the last few days, which sparked the inevitable question about the former first daughter´s future: Will she ever be like Mom and Dad and run for office? Clinton, 33, essentially said "maybe" in an interview that aired Monday on NBC´s Today show. "Right now I´m grateful to live in a city, a state and a country where I strongly support my mayor, my governor, my president and my senators and my representative," said Clinton, whose father, Bill, was president from 1993-2001 and her mother, Hillary
