It's great to hear the minority leader say he'll dig in his heels on taxes. So what if GHWB caved? McConnell is a different man. I just hope that he and other Republicans in the House and Senate stand firm.
McConnell is right: Republicans still control the House (where taxing and spending bills must originate), and still have a robust minority in the Senate.
I'm ready to fight back! With whatever power we still have, which is considerable.

Tax increases are in the first chapter of the liberal bible.8 of the 10 wealthiest counties in the country went for Obama. they're begging for a tax increase,or are they. Maybe Obama promised them no tax increases.
Personally,i don't see a reason not to raise capital gains taxes on people who made over $500,000 in lazy income. A lot of this money has come from the feds money pumps.People paying 17% tax rates while sitting on their ass is different than a 60 hour workweek employer.
Investment is different than it was 20-30 years ago. The stock market has become a racket in it's own right and no longer reflects he real economy. It's pure gamesmanship.
You have super rich liberals who got that way having the inside track to government contracts,like public housing building.This is a huge enterprise in big cities and kickbacks are rampant.
Obama and Reid are waiting in the weeds to spring a tax increase on the rich but what they don't tell you is most of the wealth in this country is held by liberals,who are stingy as hell. They want their tax increases to target people like the Koch brothers,not their own big donors.

For the season, ad-supported cable as a group has opened up a bigger ratings advantage over the Big Four – and has beaten the broadcasters in the 18-49 demo on a regular basis in a handful of timeslots. President Barack Obama´s bid to renew a ban against military-style assault weapons narrowly won the backing of the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday and headed to the full Senate, where it appears certain to fail. On a party line vote of 10-8, the Democratic-led panel approved a bill to renew a ban similar to one that expired in 2004. The measure would also limit high-capacity ammunition clips to 10 bullets.

This administration certainly loves drones, but even that ardent passion has limits. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel on Tuesday put a stop to production of a medal that was to be awarded to drone operators, and not a moment too soon. It wasn’t just the idea of the Distinguished Warfare Medal that offended good sense. The real outrage was ignited by the goofy idea to give it precedence over medals awarded for bravery and valor.

Justin Bieber was rushed to hospital tonight after suffering breathing difficulties on stage at London´s O2 Arena. The pop hearthrob was initially treated by doctors backstage for up to 15 minutes before returning to finish the show. However, after the gig ended, he was taken to an undisclosed London hospital for a thorough medical examination. Some fans at the arena claimed to have seen the 19-year-old faint and others believed he´d hit his head on a speaker.

As Winter Storm Saturn heads farther east into the Atlantic Ocean, the rain and snow mixture in the Mid-Atlantic States will come to an end Wednesday night. The storm dumped up to 20 inches of snow in western Virginia on Wednesday. Temperatures were just barely mild enough to prevent any major accumulations in Washington, D.C. and Baltimore. Mayor Bloomberg was booed yesterday as he walked in the annual St. Patrick’s Parade in the hurricane-ravaged Rockaways. The jeers grew so loud toward the end of the Queens parade that mayoral candidate and City Council Speaker Christine Quinn appeared to break away from the mayor to march separately. A spokesman for Quinn later said she always intended to walk separately from the mayor.

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church.
