Michelle Obama, who broke the traditional first lady model by campaigning nonstop for her husband's reelection and boosting him among women and younger voters, is now considered the gold standard for modern-day presidential spouses. "There is no question that the first lady raised the bar for future spouses -- not just because of how hard she worked but also her sway and popularity with voters," said Karen Finney, former spokeswoman for former first lady Hillary Clinton. "Rated on energy, charm, and political smarts, Michelle Obama is the most important and successful first lady in a presidential campaign
Comments: No!! Now there's only so much a human being can take of this insanity. Isn't it amazing the name of Laura Bush does not pass those idiots' lips. s/o Their arrogance continues to amaze me. And to think we have to look at that hateful witch for four more years. Oh groan.
Michelle has no class. Michelle has NO dignity. She is the worst first lady ever. She is ignorant and arrogant. She loves taking her many expensive, lavish, and luxurious vacations all at the taxpayers' expense; she brings all her family and friends. She does this, because before her husband was elected she could not travel in such luxury or style. She feels quite entitled. No, she is a horrid, wretched first lady, and she should keep her opinions to herself. We do not want her advice, and we certainly do want to see so much of her.
They have to make up stories like this because Michelle is so pathetic. She can't even speak English, dresses as if she is in competition with her teenage daughter, has ugly armpits and behaves in an unseemly matter in public. She may be a woman ?? but she ain't no lady and never will be.
Nancy Reagan, Jackie Kennedy exuded elegance and class. Laura Bush next. Barbara Bush was on my list until I had the experience of being around her BUT even she was better on her worst day than Michelle.
The lsm and dem operatives keep telling us that each of the 0bamas are, ''the best,'' at this &, ''the best at that,'' but all we know is that America's suffering increases every day. And now, after this unbelievably questionable election, 0bama threatens to double down on his, 'transformation,' of America. mmm mmm mmm

Lady Bird came into my place of business several times...before, during and after their years, and was absolutely delightful. Her native home was nearby. Typically East Texan....graceful, polite, charming, with lots to say and cordial to everyone. We always looked forward to her visits.
Is she going with the messiah to Asia? I hope -- I hope...
AND take the iranian/jarret with -- at the taxpayer's expense of course -- as the price of gas hits $5.00 and food sky/rockets in the "real" world....AND -- poor New Yorkers and New Jerseyits shiver in the cold with carter/gas/lines...
Grooooooan -- save US from their insanity...
Wake up demorats. You got what you prayered for and it stinks....
P.S. ehy mooochelle --he stinks in the morning because he smokes.....duhhhh....
End Affirmative action by race and make it on merit and need.
Do the obama girls need a hand up or can Barack and Michelle pay their way out of his now $11 million?
Affirmative action by need and merit benefits the country as high brainpower poverty kids get a hand up--works across the board and Asian kids succeed on their own--they need it? They probably don't take it or fake it like Elizabeth Warren.
Barack Soetoro Frank Marshall Davis Hussein Obama II has another surprise for the whites. Mandated and enforced race based outcomes. Your next doctor might be an affirmative action prop up? Actually, the Indians from India are quite superb--wonder if they will do being just darker shaded Caucasians?
The insanity will only get worse from here. As the Curse of Obama descends even further upon the nation, up will be down, good will be bad, ignorance will be bliss, and saying you've never been proud of America makes you a great First Lady.
FTA: "Michelle Obama, who broke the traditional first lady model by campaigning nonstop for her husband's reelection...." I'm sure she all tuckered out from doing this since she doesn't know what a truly tough day of work is, so she'll need to take an enormously expensive vacation at our expense to rest up. In fact, I would venture to say that she "worked so hard" to guarantee continued taxpayer funded vacations for her, her mom and kids. I've been wanting to go to the Grand Canyon on vacation for a few years now, but can't justify spending the money especially now that my husband has been laid off. Sigh.....
This fluff, like liberalism, works only in the absence of crisis. If we are truly confronted by an existential threat these people tend to become Conservative fast. After 9/11 even lesbians were looking for the nearest man. Pablum.
Sorry but Michelle O is disgusting. She dresses funny, talks like trash and acts like she entitled. Also those wide belts do not do a thing for her figure except make her look like she is trying to be some kind of dumb rapper with their odd clothes.
Please forgive me for all this posting. I just heard on FOX that Obama will be speaking at 1 pm to say he has a "mandate" to raise taxes on the " rich." Also he will take NO questions. He never does. We are in a dictatorship folks.
At least we liked and respected Lady Bird. We could see some benefit in planting "a bush, a tree, or a shrub" (apply thick Texas twang here). Subsequent First Ladies were arguably as good or better than Mrs. Johnson, but Michelle is certainly not.
Remember Bess Truman? She came from humble beginnings, was bright enough to know it, and made the obvious conclusion that her husband was the president, not her. She's head and shoulders above the current self appointed Queen.
She had her lawe license removed from her wall by the state of Illinois, in the middle of the day. Any others have this distinction? We are in for it folks. These morons are about revenge and ruining what they see as "White America"
Just read on Drudge, Obama is shutting down oil exploration (shale exploration I think) out west. He is wasting no time in increasing our dependence on the Muzzies.
With this election, what Muchelle wears, eats, does, doesn't matter. Who cares what gets written about her.Why are we even wasting time on this? What matters is that this country that was at a tipping point on November 6 has now tipped. And we should be seriously thinking about how to get it back, or we should just give up. If we are not going to give up, then please, let's not get side tracked on this crap about this ugly woman. We need to take the SENATE in 700+ days. That's important. But, Muchelle, not.
"They didn’t care about how they looked. It was just fierce indifference to human life that caused America to say enough is enough. ‘I don’t want to see it and I am not a part of it.’ What the hell! If you have to bomb little kids and send dogs out against human beings, give me a break." But Rangel had praise for a few Republicans. He mentioned New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, citing Christie´s criticism of House Republicans for delaying a vote on federal relief aid for states hit by Hurricane
The House voted Friday to prevent the IRS from enforcing any aspect of ObamaCare, a bill meant to exact revenge against an agency that Republicans say is incapable of neutral enforcement of the law. Members approved the Keep the IRS Off Your Health Care Act in a 232-185 vote. Four Democrats supported the bill along with every Republican. The vote capped off several days of work in the House on bills aimed at reining in government regulation and government overreach. House Democrats cast the votes as merely for show, given opposition from the White House and the Senate
The Los Angeles and Chicago metropolitan areas had the most gun murders among the nation’s fifty most-populous metropolitan areas in 2009 and 2010 (the latest years for which date is available), according to a report released today by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. During those two years, 1,141 people were gunned to death in the Los Angeles metropolitan area and 1,139 were gunned to death in the Chicago metropolitan area. The New York metropolitan area ranked third with 1,101 gun homicides. The Los Angeles, Chicago and New York metropolitan areas also ranked one,
Terrorist-supporting conservative uberhawk Rep. Peter King (R-New York), sounding very much like a man feeling left out of the Chris Christie vs. Rand Paul story, played the McCainesque America-Firster card against Paul Wednesday on CNN: [W]hat this reminds me of, someone like Senator Paul and others in that isolationist wing -- now, the Republicans had this debate back in the 1930s when you had the isolationists and the Charles Lindberghs that said we should appease Hitler. And the Democrats had it in the
EACH of us took turns over the past 43 years running the Environmental Protection Agency. We served Republican presidents, but we have a message that transcends political affiliation: the United States must move now on substantive steps to curb climate change, at home and internationally. There is no longer any credible scientific debate about the basic facts: our world continues to warm, with the last decade the hottest in modern records, and the deep ocean warming faster than the earth’s atmosphere. Sea level is rising. Arctic Sea ice is melting years faster than projected.
Let’s stipulate a fact: Most men cannot complete US Marine Corps combat training. Let’s stipulate another fact: Washing out trainees who cannot complete the training is one of the purposes of the training. Keep those who can complete it, weed out those who can’t. Let’s stipulate another fact: Washing out trainees who cannot complete the training saves lives by eliminating weak links in combat units. “Weak,” in the context of military combat training, encompasses physical and mental. Most people simply are not suited to military combat, male or female. The Pentagon is trying to integrate
Sen. John McCain appears cautiously optimistic that the House of Representatives will ultimately pass some kind of immigration reform — and says that the GOP is doomed in the 2016 presidential contest if the effort fails. “The crystal ball is a little cloudy because I think August is going to be a very seminal month,” he said, pointing out that members are back interacting with constituents and that a broad coalition of interest groups back comprehensive immigration reform. Mr. McCain was part of a bipartisan group that helped
The State Department issued a worldwide travel alert on Friday to U.S. citizens over an Al Qaeda terror threat, as the U.S. government prepared to close its embassies and consulates throughout the Muslim world this Sunday over security concerns. U.S. officials have not offered many details on the nature of the threat, but apparently are taking it seriously. John Bolton, former U.S. ambassador to the U.N., said the alert indicates the U.S. government must have some "pretty good information" about a possible threat. The travel alert issued Friday warned Americans of the
On Wednesday’s “Your World with Neil Cavuto,” House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa reacted to criticisms from conservative talk show host Mark Levin had made on the same program just 24 hours earlier. In that appearance, Levin suggested the House Republican leadership wasn’t doing its due diligence in investigating the scandals involving the Obama administration, including the Benghazi terrorist attacks and the targeted audits of the Internal Revenue Service. Issa explained to Cavuto that his investigators and his committee were doing its best to connect all the dots,
The House approved an amendment to legislation Friday that would prevent the White House from imposing a carbon tax without congressional approval. The lower chamber agreed to Rep. Steve Scalise’s (R-La.) amendment by a 237-176 vote, with 12 Democrats crossing the aisle to support it. The amendment was added to an underlying bill that would require Congress to OK regulations that carry a $100 million economic impact or greater. That bill is dead in its tracks in the Democratic-controlled Senate, and the White House has threatened to veto it. Scalise’s measure doesn’t
Congress can breath easy now since it won’t be subjected to the ironically titled Affordable Care Act. As I mentioned on Tuesday, according to the New York Times, many in Congress were “freaking out” about having to get their insurance through the Obamacare exchanges without the lavish subsidies that they usually benefit from as federal employees. Manhattan Institute’s Avik Roy has a good summary of the issue t:his morning. Here is a tidbit: According to John Bresnahan and Jake Sherman of Politico, President Obama has personally involved himself in the
I think she’s one of the most fascinating women of our time and this world,” confessed Bob Greenblatt, the chairman of NBC, as part of his announcement that his network is making a miniseries about former secretary of state Hillary Clinton, with Diane Lane in the starring role. Words are funny things. For instance, G.K. Chesterton once remarked that that the word “good” has many uses: “For example, if a man were to shoot his grandmother at a range of 500 yards, I should call him a good shot but not necessarily a good man.” So it is,
Colin Powell has admitted to exchanging ´very personal´ emails with a Romanian diplomat but denies having an affair with the much younger woman after a hacker threatened to release their intimate messages. The 76-year-old retired general told the Smoking Gun that he met Corina Cretu, 45, roughly 10 years ago when she was working as an assistant to the president of Romania. She is now a member of the European Parliament. ´After I left the Department of State in January 2005 we stayed in touch via email,´ he told TSG.
CNN has uncovered exclusive new information about what is allegedly happening at the CIA, in the wake of the deadly Benghazi terror attack. Four Americans, including Ambassador Christopher Stevens, were killed in the assault by armed militants last September 11 in eastern Libya. Sources now tell CNN dozens of people working for the CIA were on the ground that night, and that the agency is going to great lengths to make sure whatever it was doing, remains a secret. CNN has learned the CIA is involved in what one source calls an unprecedented attempt to keep the spy
Serial sexter Anthony Weiner’s wife partly blamed herself last year when her horndog husband confessed to her that he was at it again. Friends and family told People magazine that Huma Abedin was kicking herself at the time for bailing out of couples counseling and focusing more on their newborn baby boy. But, thanks to a new round of joint therapy that continues even now, the couple was able to put the relapse behind them. “They really became a unit, and she feels much closer to Anthony now,” a relative told the magazine. That’s a long way from how Abedin
The United States will temporarily shut down its embassies and consulates around the world Sunday, including those in Iraq, Afghanistan and Egypt, as a precautionary measure, the State Department said Thursday. State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf did not say how long the international installations would stay closed -- only that the decision was taken “out of an abundance of caution and care for our employees and others who may be visiting.” Sunday is a normal workday in many Arab and Middle Eastern countries. Embassies in Europe and Latin America would be shuttered that day anyway.
In preparation for the release of Oscar-bait film The Butler, Forest Whitaker, Oprah Winfrey, and director Lee Daniels (Precious) sat down with Parade magazine. The film chronicles a butler (Whitaker) who works in the White House through seven administrations. Winfrey plays the butler’s wife. In the interview, Winfrey explained her sadness that so few Americans know about the history of the civil rights movement: “They don’t know diddly-squat. Diddly-squat.” She then said of the historic use of the n-word, “I always think of the millions of people who heard that as their last
American scientists claim the planet is undergoing one of the largest changes in climate in the past 65 million years. Climatologists at Stanford Woods Institute for the Environment have warned the likely rate of change over the next century will be at least 10 times quicker than any climate shift since the dinosaurs became extinct. If the trend continues at its current rapid pace, it will place significant stress on terrestrial ecosystems around the world, and many species will need to make behavioral, evolutionary or geographic adaptations to survive, they said.
[Video] Ouch. New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie turned down an offer by Sen. Rand Paul to join him for a beer and bury the hatchet in their ongoing -- and very public -- feud. "I´m running for re-election in New Jersey. I don´t really have time for that at the moment," Christie said in an interview on a local radio station. The New Jersey governor said if he finds himself in Washington, "I´ll certainly look him up." But he added: "I don´t suspect I´ll be there anytime soon. I´ve got work to do here."
About 400 area retail and fast-food workers, together with colleagues nationally, participated in a strike Thursday to demand raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour. “If not $15, then something. I mean give us something. I work 36 hours a week and barely make enough to pay my rent, gas bill, light bill. It gets to the point where I barely have enough for lunch sometimes,” said Angel Richardson, 21, who works at McDonald’s. “I’m five months pregnant, what am I going to do in four months? I hope something changes.” The minimum wage is $7.25 nationally and $8.25
Oprah Winfrey said Americans by and large know “diddly-squat” about the history of the civil rights movement. The talk show queen and media mogul made her comments during the promotion of her new film, “The Butler,” about a black man who serves in that capacity through seven administrations at the White House. “They don’t know diddly-squat,” she said in a recent interview with Parade magazine. “Diddly-squat.” Ms. Winfrey also said that when she hears the N-word, she thinks of the “millions of people who heard that as their last word as they were hanging from a tree.”
The administration has popped the bubble of hope some small business had that switching to part-time staff would let them escape the high costs of Obamacare. The Small Business Administration on Thursday created a website to explain to businesses that the government will simply tally up the number of part-time employees firms have to determine if enough hours have been worked to essentially create a "full-time equivalent." Some smaller businesses had thought that if they could get under the 50 full-time employee cap that activates Obamacare by cutting full-time workers and hiring more part-time workers they would escape
Government workers in the city of Seattle have been advised that the terms "citizen" and "brown bag" are potentially offensive and may no longer be used in official documents and discussions. KOMO-TV reports that the city´s Office of Civil Rights instructed city workers in a recent internal memo to avoid using the words because some may find them offensive. "Luckily, we´ve got options," Elliott Bronstein of the Office for Civil Rights wrote in the memo obtained by the station. "For ´citizens,´ how about ´residents?´"
Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-NY) suggested on Friday morning that the tea party movement is comprised of the same types of people who fought against the civil rights movement during the 1960s. Speaking with the Daily Beast, Rangel said of the movement: “It is the same group we faced in the South with those white crackers and the dogs and the police. They didn’t care about how they looked. He added that the tea party movement can be defeated similar to how the civil rights movement eradicated Jim Crow mentality: “It was just fierce indifference to human life that caused
