| Thank you, America. Thank you for re-electing Barack Obama. Thank you for solidifying Obamacare. Thank you for ensuring that my health insurance rates will rise to the point where my employer drops my coverage. Thank you for future higher prescription drug prices, for lower quality care, for long lines to see my doctor, and for allowing a board of 15 people to determine my fate. Thank you, America. Thank you, America, for making sure our media will be taking a coffee break for the next four years instead of holding our elected officials accountable (unless they’re Republicans, of course).

But it's not as if we're surprised.

Thank you, Jack Finn, for putting here the majority of what's been rattling around my thoughts since Tuesday night.
And thank you, America, for finally settling the age-old children's riddle: If a TelePrompTer got in a fight with an Etch-a-Sketch, who would win?

I agree #3. I cringe when I think of the wonderous America I grew up with. My decades go back to the 40's. I can only tell my children and randchildren what a wonderful country this used to be, It is still good, but it won't be great again until we rid ourselves of all those who occupy our White House, Senate and House of Representatives. If only the Supreme Court could be tossed out too. I feel as though we need to sink to the bottom ( we are almost there now) before we can rise up and be a great nation once again. Like I said we are good but not great anymore. I am in deep sorrow for ourselves and our children.

#3, from your post I know he already has a head start on a lot of boys his age. You are right though. America was never a guarantee, just a ticket to take a shot. Somehow the natural competitive nature of being an American was melted away. One of the consequences of screaming 'feminists' who insisted on equality instead of fairness. Now equality is, find the lowest performing denominator and make everyone work to that. Equality of the failed.
Having insane Russians with their finger on the nuke button was traumatic, but like a breath of fresh air in today's world of mud. BTW, if someone thinks I'm unfair to put WMDs all on the Russians, they need to research the Russian sub commander who wanted to fire a nuke torpedo during the Cuban crisis or the Russian generals ready to launch ICBMs over a flight of geese.

Find a 40 year old or younger.
Explain what they voted for.
Tell them when they are age 80, there will have “built” an America that will no longer take care of them. And tell them, “Yes, you WILL build that”!
Tell them that they are voting for barbarians who have turned parents and children against each other to stay in power. These pathetic excuses for public servants will have retired with 1 million dollar pensions that we all are paying for as well as specially designed health care plans that we will never have access to!
Tell them they are destroying their own future and do not even know it.
Tell them that they will not have an inheritance because Congress will seize their parent’s assets in taxes and fees.
Tell them that Washington is supposed to work for them but now that has changed. We are all slaves on the "Big Government Plantation" working FOR THEM!
But remind them that for all of that, they have their stuff from Obama:
Phones that other people pay for Healthcare that other people pay for Condoms that other people pay for Birth control pills that other people pay for
What a bargain! (or is it?)

I'm around college aged fools on a daily basis and you'd me amazed to learn just how many of these young adults believe obamacare is free healthcare.
I tried to explain reality to them but they insist I'm wrong and obamacare will work just like Medicaid, all the basics will be free. I'm not kidding, they think that obamacare obamacare = free healthcare, no premiums, no co-pays, no co-insurance.

The USA was intended to be a loose federation of independent states. That doesn't work so well for power hungry socialists who want to redistribute wealth so our federal government has grown to behemoth size and eliminated the firewalls between states. Why should someone in a ward in Philadelphia be able to exact so much revenge on me (in Texas)?
The only solution to this problem long term is to get back to where we have separation btween the states. Question is: How do we get there?
I think I know the answer, but its not pretty.

We are set up by evil forces at work using the media and many American's selfish indulgance for the biggest collapse of an empire known to mankind. The great experiment in freedom and hope for mankind has been successfully dismantled...(from within) but for a reason in God's overall planning. Don't think that the enemies of the west don't see what destruction and chaos Sandy caused and won't exploit that with a couple of well placed suitcase nukes to bring us to our knees, Then they will march against Jerusalem without any aid from Israel's once powerful friend.

I am 62 and have already had this conversation with my three daughters (38) (36) and (29). They are in shock right now for what they unknowingly did and by the time the next Presidential Election comes, their eyes will be opened.
I am closing my 28 year old business before the end of the year and laying off two of my employees. I am selling my business before long term capital gain rates go up. My daughters were celebrating today as their father was having to close his business. They can’t believe what has happened to their father.
The Progressives have turned parents and their children against each other and what little inheritance I wanted to leave to them will be confiscated by Washington in the name of "fairness”.
Maybe my children will think twice before they vote to re-distribute their parent’s wealth with Washington.
My sacrifice and financial slaughter may awaken their self-interest in four years. I am praying and believe it will!
I call on my fellow Eagles to soar high aloft and live for Freedom!

#27 simply demonstrates how many highly-educated people seem to lack real-world understanding, especially when it comes to the inverse relationship between government subsidies and spheres of liberty. Even geniuses can get distracted by idyllic thoughts (e.g. an end to human suffering) to fall for things that sound great but don't work.
You'll find a lot of Marxist graffiti on basement walls at MIT, too. Just because they're "smart" doesn't make them right. I lost count of the times I saw Eat The Rich down there.

There were high expectations for Sen. Ted Cruz´s keynote address at CPAC 2013, and he delivered. As a young, passionate Hispanic who happens to be one of the most brilliant and accomplished constitutional experts and Supreme Court lawyers in the U.S. Senate in over half a century, Cruz poses a clear frustration for the left—and some in the Republican establishment as well. Cruz was a rock star at the Conservative Political Action Conference. Whenever anyone mentioned him in their remarks, the utterance was met with applause.

On Wednesday night, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) electrified the crowd at the Coalitions for America’s Weyrich Awards Dinner, named after founder Paul Weyrich. He led off his speech with a dismissive reference to Senator John McCain’s characterization of him as a “wacko bird.” Looking at the crowd, Cruz said, “Birds of a feather flock together.” Cruz led off with a full-on critique of the President’s public relations blitz over sequestration. “2.4 percent cuts were made from your meals,” he joked. He referenced the “emaciated face” of conservative megadonor Foster Friess.

Imagine you´re a waitress, out with friends on a night off, when you lose your wallet. Cash, credit cards, driver´s license—all gone. Your bank later informs you that checks are being issued in your name. It´s a pain, but you carry on. Two weeks later, you´re at work when four people walk in and sit in your section. They start ordering drinks. You ask to see their IDs. A woman in the group hands a driver´s license to you. You look down, and it´s yours.

A very courageous fifth-grade teacher in the Chicago Public Schools has written a scathing critique of the almost comical misery she and her students endured when they participated in a massive February 28 event kicking off Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! Active Schools campaign. The First Lady’s campaign is an effort to improve (and in some cases, bring back) physical education in American schools. White House officials called the event “a groundbreaking, earth-shattering, awesomely-inspiring day.” Lisa Putnam and her fifth grades most certainly did not experience the event the same way, however.

To read most conservative websites you´d have to believe that Hollywood is the holy mecca of liberal hypocrisy, a swarming hive of limousine liberals, and the indulgence capital of the world. And I do happen to believe the truth of that, an assessment arrived at decades ago and acted upon by my absolute absence in movie theaters for those same decades. For conservatives, going to the movies long ago became a form of self-flagellation where one pays exorbitant prices for admission and confections

President Obama must have been stunned at the "audacity" of Dr. Benjamin Carson in challenging his core assumptions right to his face in front of thousands of people at the National Prayer Breakfast. Obama is not used to being challenged, especially in public, even if indirectly and without being specifically named. From the look on his face, it was obvious Obama was none too pleased with Carson´s message or with his "presumptuousness" in presenting it in that forum, while he had to sit still and -- remain silent.

President Obama´s biggest gaffe yesterday when speaking of California Attorney General Kamala Harris was not in flirtatiously complimenting her as "the best-looking attorney general," but in introducing an observation from the system of beauty into a forum that was about the system of power. What´s that, you say? Irin Carmon does a great job in Salon in laying out the bounds of propriety for when it´s appropriate to talk about a woman´s looks as a general matter. But I´ve long felt we lack a solid theoretical underpinning for easily discussing these issues, and why precisely it is that

Put out an all-points bulletin: Millions of Americans have gone missing from the workforce. Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. The vanishing trend is more than a decade old, but it accelerated during the Great Recession. Throughout 2012, economists held out hope that it had stopped. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank
