| FLORIDA — The American political arena is at once intriguing, complex, and mesmerizing. From the corridors of power in Washington to the studios of talk radio hosts, it can honestly be said that there is never a dull moment. Lucianne Goldberg has been a witness to many of modern American history’s defining moments. As an operative of the Democratic Party, she was afforded a behind the scenes look at Lyndon B. Johnson’s vice presidential nomination. Less than one decade later, she became a spy for the Nixon campaign, working behind the lines of George McGovern’s ill-fated

Comments: Look what I found! What a nice article about our extremely dedicated and hard working leader. I loved the answer concerning the "right wing" description. How appropriate.

I am privileged to know our beloved Lucianne, who is an unsung (except to L.Dotters)American heroine, and a shining light to us in these dark days. I cannot imagine not having this site to keep me sane. When the power went out with Sandy, I was having withdrawal symptoms. Thank you, dear Lucianne , for your spunk, humor , courage, insouciance , intellect, patriotism, brilliance and strength. It is clear to see Jonah doesn't get his talent off the door knob. Long may you reign!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

I treasure this site so much that I still have my registration e-mail from May 19, 2000. And yes, in years when I've been able to donate, I've received a hand-written thank-you note as well. (Can you imagine ever receiving such a thing from a liberal?) The only days I've failed to read have been ones when I've been nowhere near a computer; if at another family member's home, they're reading too and just leave it up for me. I stagger in first thing in the morning with coffee, and at night when my eyes seem no longer connected to my brain, I stagger to bed. I don't post as often as I used to, but only because of no time. Lucianne has indeed kept us sane and civil. And yes...the idea of Lucianne with Greg Gutfeld simply blows me away! Starting a campaign, anyone?
Thank you and your tireless staff from the bottom of our hearts!

Mrs. Goldberg, Ms. Lucianne:
Love you and respect you immensely.
Such weak and yet loaded questions posed to someone who's seen so much of history, from serving in the JFK administration (and enough with the disparagement there, really) through the blue dress time, and being the founder and charge of this site in the midst of so many storms and in grief, both public and private. Most importantly, being the mother of Joshua and Jonah. We treasure them both, always.
You are our light and wind forward, no matter the election, no matter the results. And we are the ones who think the office of the president matters, that you dress for it, you honor it by being prompt to all encounters with it, and you leave it better than what was left you.
No flip-flops, no t-shirts. You revere the office. That will be missing, again, for the next four years, unless the Mayans were correct.
And I still loathe Brabra, too. (Brabra intentional)

For Lucianne:
"She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come". Proverbs 31:25
"When she speaks, her words are wise, and she gives instructions with kindness". Proverbs 31:26
Thank you, dear Lucianne. You are deeply respected and dearly loved.

But, we had the privilege of meeting you once at a book discussion for John Podhoretz's Bush Country on the Upper West Side. We were star struck then and continue to be so, now. Even more, you and Rush and our fellow LDotters, provide us with sanity and hope in these very troubling times. God Bless you The Divine MS. G.

For what it's worth, I think JFK chose LBJ for the same reason obama chose hillary to be on his cabinet.... keeping his political enemies close and stop the troublemaking! And in both cases it worked.

What a wonderful interview: intelligence and grace personified. One of the crazier things the leftists have done was to create the femi-nazis. I agree with you, Ms. L, I know I can do what men do (I joined the Navy), but I like being treated special. I like men opening doors and carrying things for me. Thank you for all you and yours do, it makes a difference for those of us you host here.

I think what is even more important than me finding this site years ago, is that I have been able to introduce my children to conservatism because of you. Creating a place where so many like-minded individuals can gather makes it so very easy to show young minds that it doesn't have to be the way it is...

You, Lady, wife of Sidney, Mom to Joshua and Jonah, a daily inspiration to us all, a cute young girl who "got" the Hop Bird, you, like him, are "turtles all the way down."

And so it is with Lucianne, using her God-given gifts in a generous and compassionate spirit to provide a haven for people to share the joys and sorrows of our nation and the world. To face natural or man-made disasters, as well as powerful forces determined to transform our nation. Words fail to express the admiration and appreciation many of us harbor for this lady. And they will be removed. We have to come up with some means of communication. It's a long horse ride from Boston (Mr. Revere) to Gig Harbor WA (our home now), notifying all the patriots between.

I read all the posts too. We are a family of kindred spirits. (PS: did you notice that writer Alicia Colon - #23 - posted the sweetest note?)
I do so wish Joseph Cotto/Washington Times, would have used the photo here on the site of Mrs. G in her Breitbart tee shirt.
As for Mrs. G -- she has always been a gracious lady to me. Her prayers... and her bravery here on the site are a blessing to me and us all.

I want to add my sincere appreciation to Lucianne, too, for all she has done, for so many years. I used to love when she came on the old Drudge TV show. She´s the type of woman I hope my daughters can someday become. Would love to meet her, but until then I will always count her as a friend for introducing me to so many of my fellow l.dotters.

I am thankful that Lucianne gives us Christians a voice. I have had many responses through the years, thanking me for standing up for God´s Word.
I pray often for Lucianne, for she has proved herself worthy and I know God is very proud of her and one day she will hear Him say "Welcome, good and faithful servant!"
I also pray for the staff at Lucianne, for their appropriate cartoons (always in good taste)and those lovely pictures of animals showing US what living is all about - enjoying and participating in daily activities that bring a smile and a laugh to those willing to share in their activities.
May this Thanksgiving and Christmas season be a special time where we celebrate God (Jesus) and our families that He has given us.
Lucianne Goldberg has been faithful throughout the years, beginning by standing up for honesty/truth. She is a model for the younger women to imitate.
Blessings every day to Lucianne, who stood up for righteousness during the Clinton administration and God has honored that, as do we who daily continue to share God´s truth and our integrity as we respond to the news of the day.
Too often the liberal media either lies or just ignores what is vital and important for our country´s betterment.
May Lucianne be blessed with many more good years, drawing more into the truth, sharing her love to those willing to receive.
Ever onward!

The Department of Justice released a statement moments ago amid reports of the department obtaining a subpoena in order to access Fox News reporter James Rosen´s personal emails. "Leaks of classified information to the press can pose a serious risk of harm to our national security and it is important that we pursue these matters using appropriate law enforcement tools. Such investigations and prosecutions, including this particular case, follow all applicable laws, regulations, and longstanding Department of Justice policies intended to safeguard the First Amendment interests of the press in reporting the news and the public in receiving it."

Michelle Malkin joined Megyn Kelly on Fox News Monday afternoon to discuss the latest developments in the investigation into the IRS targeting conservatives for audits. Malkin insisted it was not merely her “ideology” that has led to critique the Obama administration on their handling of the IRS issue and others, but rather the evidence she’s seen of their “bully brigade tactics” to “intimidate and criminalize their political opponents.” Malkin began by going after White House Press Secretary Jay Carney for his handling of the various Obama “scandals,” saying the “clown Carney press briefings have turned in

The Justice Department, already under fire for seizing AP phone records, also viewed e-mails of Fox News chief Washington correspondent James Rosen, calling him a criminal ´co-conspirator´ for his reporting. Fox News´ executive vice president of news, Michael Clemente, released a statement defending Rosen. The statement issued Monday afternoon is below: "We are outraged to learn today that James Rosen was named a criminal co-conspirator for simply doing his job as a reporter," Clemente said. Michael Steinbach, former head of the FBI’s counterterrorism division and now special agent in charge of Miami, told over 30 congressional staffers in March of 2012 that, contrary to the White House´s classification, the bureau does not refer to the Fort Hood shooting as "workplace violence." As head of the FBI counterterrorism division, Steinbach oversaw the investigation into the mass murder at Texas Army base. Steinbach made this claim during an unclassified counterterrorism briefing on Capitol Hill. “Do you guys teach your agents that Fort Hood was workplace violence?” one staffer asked.

As a result of Fox News Channel’s State Department reporter James Rosen’s 2009 investigation into the government’s response to North Korea’s repeated provocations, it was reported on Monday that the Department of Justice tracked Rosen’s movements as well as subpoenaed telephone and email records. According to the DoJ’s subpoena, Google surrendered Rosen’s emails, who is described as “an aider and abettor and/or co-conspirator,” to the government. “Rosen was not charged with any crime, but it is unprecedented for the government, in an official court document, to accuse a reporter of breaking the law for conducting the

The House has already begun its investigation of the IRS scandal, with Friday’s hearing in the House Ways and Means Committee. The Senate Finance Committee will follow in short order, and it has already issued a “request” for detailed information from the agency about its targeting of conservative groups over the last three years. Ironically, it looks a lot like the kind of request that the agency sent out to those groups, with 41 demands and just 11 days to respond. The letter, provided by a source on Capitol Hill, shows that the questioning is likely to feel a lot like an audit:

The sort of reporting by James Rosen detailed in the report is the same sort of reporting that helped Mr. Rosen aggressively pursue questions about the Administration’s handling of Benghazi.

In an appearance on C-SPAN on Monday, Bill Kristol, editor of The Weekly Standard, scolded President Barack Obama for what reports suggest was his hands-off approach to the ongoing crisis in Benghazi on the night of an attack on that city’s American consulate. “I am willing to say that he did not behave as a President of the United States should have behaved that night,” Kristol said. A C-SPAN caller asked Kristol about the second phase of the Benghazi attack, in which militants laid siege to an annex for several hours. The caller asked about the

Former Rep. Ron Paul of Texas called the recent IRS fiasco troubling — but writes that the only way Congress can protect the freedoms of Americans from a long pattern of suspected IRS abuse is to “shutter the doors” of the agency “once and for all.” The longtime GOP congressman writes that IRS agents in the 1930s were essentially “hit squads” against opponents of the New Deal, and that allegations of IRS abuse spanned the administrations of Presidents Kennedy, Nixon, Clinton and George W. Bush. “The bipartisan tradition of using the IRS as a tool to harass political opponents

What did President Obama do on the evening of 9/11/12 when our men were under attack in Benghazi? The invaluable Andrew McCarthy reminds us that Obama and Secretary Clinton had a 10:00 p.m. phone call of which many (including, I think, Chris Wallace) have lost sight. This morning when Wallace asked Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer what Obama was up to that evening, Pfeiffer declared the line of inquiry “offensive.” Translation: Obama and his minions would prefer to “move on” and are warning the likes of FNC off:(Snip for video)The Weekly Standard’s Daniel Halper has posted the rush transcript

It began in earnest last Friday. A flash mob of latte drinking, tofu eating media that has done its best to quell, rather than fan the flames of truth, turned on one of their own. Jay Carney lay bludgeoned at the base of the podium, a victim of friendly fire. Ironically, the attack was reminiscent of the one in Benghazi he has repeatedly denied the Administration he represents bears any responsibility for. “Changed twelve times?!” came the cries. And with good reason. We were misled; no, lied to.

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation´s deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation´s debt cap.

The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. Newly obtained court documents “reveal how deeply investigators explored the private communications of a working journalist — and raise the question of how often journalists have been investigated as closely as Rosen was in 2010.” Reporter Ann Marimow began:

WASHINGTON – White House senior adviser Dan Pfeiffer said Sunday Republicans owe Susan Rice, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, an apology for alleging she played a part in formulating the White House’s response to the attacks in Benghazi, Libya, last year that killed four Americans. Pfeiffer said on ABC’s “This Week” that the release of more than 100 pages of Benghazi emails and notes show “beyond a shadow of the doubt” that accusations she tried to change the narrative of what happened in the attacks was false. "And, frankly, I think that many of the Republicans

A senior adviser to President Obama mounted a combative defense of the administration on Sunday, saying the controversies enveloping the White House were the result of Republican lawmakers’ trying to “drag Washington into a swamp of partisan fishing expeditions, trumped-up hearings and false allegations.”The remarks came from Dan Pfeiffer, a member of the president’s inner circle, as he appeared on all five major Sunday morning talk shows in an effort to move the administration past what commentators have described as a “hell week” of controversy and missteps.

President Barack Obama has an important new ally as emboldened Republicans work to derail his agenda: John McCain. The shift is striking: The 2008 rivals never got along throughout Obama’s first term in office. McCain has been Obama’s chief tormentor on issues ranging from the budget to Benghazi, tartly saying in late 2010 that the two men had “no relationship.” Yet during one of Obama’s toughest times as president, there was McCain, sitting down last week with him in the Oval Office for a private strategy session. At the urging of new White House chief of
