It started as a way for an 8-year-old girl to keep up with her big brother. Sam Gordon just wanted to run with the older kids. The coaches in the local tackle football league figured, hey, why not? Maybe they could turn it into a drill: Who can outrun Max's little sister? They were shocked to find the answer: no one. Sam Gordon, now 9, became one of the fastest kids this Salt Lake City area "Gremlins" league had ever seen. They put her in drills and she outran boys two years older. They allowed her into the "Sharks and Minnows" game and stared in awe at not only at her speed, but her ability to move like a tailback.

Eventually the boys would grow bigger and faster and smoke her... but for now... this little girl is incredible....and very fast...and very talented.
She is tough too...and gets right up after someone gets lucky enough... not often... to tackle her.
A very good athlete...and seems to be having fun as well which is what is best for kids. You go little girl. Zoom.

If she has dreams of playing in high school and college, those should quickly die somewhere between ages 12 and 14, when puberty kicks in for both her and all the boys she will be playing against.

I loved her highlights, but next year the boys are bigger, and they can't let her clean their clocks if they can stop her. Of course,...they will. Little boys are not kind.

She has incredible instincts. I agree that her shelf life in football is short, but she could do well in lady's basketball or soccer. Very fun to watch and absolutely fearless.

This is right up there with the teenage girl whose parents let her sail around the world alone in basically a rowboat (near fatal fail) and the even younger 7 or 8 year old girl who was going to fly herself around the world with Dad (fatal fail).
It's all wonderful, but ultimately, is it worth anyone's health or life to prove girls can be "just like the boys"? Why can't you just leave the boys alone?

So what lessons should Republicans learn from the 2016 election? I don’t think anyone other than me has thought to ask this question, as Republicans tend not to be very analytical. But I think the answer is pretty obvious when you look at the failure of their presidential candidate this year and the one in 2008: Republicans need to stop nominating right-wing extremists like John McCain and Mitt Romney. Obviously, the two most recent Republican presidential candidates were far too extreme to the right to be elected by the American public.

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. It´s the spongy complex of proteins, found naturally in wheat, rye, and barley, that gives elasticity to dough and allows it to rise. When flour is moistened and either kneaded or mixed into dough, gluten molecules form an elastic, microscopic latticework that traps the carbon dioxide produced when yeast ferments, causing dough to inflate like a hot air balloon. Newtown killer Adam Lanza may have launched his murder spree at Sandy Hook Elementary School as an “act of revenge,” the Daily News has learned.
