Let’s get the emotional response to the Disaster of 2012 out of the way. I don’t know about you, but this is how I felt last night and continue to feel today. I couldn’t have said it better, Chuck. Sixty million Americans did vote to blow it up. Emotion out of the way, what happened to about a million John McCain voters? In 2008, the uninspiring nominee who became the GOP standard-bearer because of a timely endorsement from orange Charlie Crist racked up 58,343,671 votes. In 2012, four years after America has seen Barack Obama’s special blend of malevolent
Comments: The author asks where the approximately one million votes went who voted for McCain. I have not seen one article mention Gary Johnson. The link below from the Washington Times stated that in Ohio alone a poll showed Johnson getting 5 percent of the vote. That spelled disaster.
The Bible says the poor will always be with us, but they should also have mentioned idiots - we will always have them with us as well unfortunately - synonymous with third-party candidates & third parties.
Exactly right OP. TWO terms of Clinton should have made this crystal clear for every dope that voted 3rd party or who didn't vote. ALL of what follows is on YOU. Sending a message in 2008 resulted in all the debacles of BHO and the much bigger long term problem of a Supreme Court about to negate the entire check and balance system. So great job. Not voting for McCain got you Sortofanightmare and Kegan. Voting for Gary Johnson will get you our worst fears. Wonderful and thanks for destroying the country Johnson. Your vanity trip empowers the alien.
It wasn't just a million McCain voters who did not show up, according to Sean Trende at RCP, 7 million fewer white voters showed up. All day long, the national press reported that this was a record turnout, long lines everywhere. Yet in the end the popular total was down 8 million from 2008. So strange.
Even though I voted I guess those 8 million felt the way I did, that there was no real chance, and that, in the event of an Obama victory, I would just shrug my shoulders and say goodbye to the United States. Empires and nations come and go, and it's just our turn to go. I'm ashamed to be an American, ashamed that there are people who would vote for Obama not to mention Warren, Pelosi, Lee, Grayson and a host of others. Ashamed of a country that pays any attention to movie stars offscreen, and reality stars anywhere. Ashamed of a country that allows itself to become just another country on the world map, and ashamed of a country that let millions of its soldiers die for a country that turns out to be, in the end, just another on the dustheap of history. Only God endures.
Maybe all the people out of work who normally would want a job were scared enough to vote for Obama, the best hope to continue their 'free stuff.' It will no doubt be worse four years from now.......the Socialists will have guaranteed their staying in power with more and more people receiving free stuff. They will print money to fund the jobless....meanwhile, the rest of us who actually worked and earned our little stockpile of money will find it worth less and less. I'm bereft.
I have been commenting on Lucianne that American needs new political parties. I understand that 15 million fewer people voted in 2012 than in 2008, and that Romney got less votes than McCain. How can this be with so much at stake?
The answer is that less and less people have faith in our political process, our politicians, and our political parties.
If true, this election means several contradictory things: 1. It was not the "record turnout" reported in the press all day long. 2. Despite enthusiastic reports from the Romney campaign and the RNC, the Republican GOTV was an absolute disaster. 3. The counties where Rove said the Republican vote total was up from 2008 on election night were actually down. 4. Despite the lack of large crowds in the closing days for McCain and huge crowds for Romney, Republicans were wildly more enthusiastic about McCain.
Hold onto your guns. You will be needing it for defense against Obama minions coming for your goods. Obama will find America isn't like Zimbabwe.
With the media firmly on the progressives' side, it is a matter of time before the Obama oligarchy starts nationalizing private property and robbing from his subjects to reward his cronies. In 2012, the fourth estate has turned out to be the fifth column in the nation.
One thing I know positively. We're shutting down our small business. There goes four more people onto the unemployment lines. I hate it so much, but we're tired of beating our heads against 4 dollar diesel, taxes and regulations and fines and insurance and living on my salary alone and the fear of the government and what they're going to do next. We're selling out, buying guns and ammo and sticking whatever we have left in a sock and hunkering down. Dear lord I hate this. But what I hate more are people who would sell their birthright for free stuff. People with ABSOLUTELY nothing in their lives to point to as personal worth but feel they're an invaluable asset to the world because of their mere existence. Thank you public education and your unnatural fixation on self esteem. Pigs in a feed lot have more worth than these people. (Sorry. Got carried away there a bit.)
Romney was a good candidate and this was a very good election effort. Various poling companies loudly proclaimed the democrat turnout would be different this season but the after the election results the TV land reality counts seemed wrong. The real problem was not the voters, counters or who was watching the counters. A firm owned by George Soros and operated in Spain took care of massaging the numbers. They did not have to follow the pundit’s theories because the rascals made up an alternate pro-Obama reality. The counters inserted facetious gross number and manipulated the results. (GIGO –Garbage in, Garbage out) No wonder the Dems weren’t worried. The results were preordained.
The company is called SCYTL. Look it up on Google. It is owned by George Soros and does many number counting jobs for the USA and the separate states.
Of course some people will deny fraud (with the flimsiest of excuses) but they denied the 1919 World Series, Fast and Furious and are currently trying to tell us that what we all know about Benghazi is the haze of war. “Walk on by folks, nothing to see here”
There was a haze of war with the elections and unless we adamantly protest it now, today, this election cycle, there will be no prospect for fair future elections. The count and recounts will always be phony but look perfect. (Just like Russia and Venezuela).
SCYTL, member the name.
The problem is. Who will investigate? Not the in the tank investigative reporters, the broadcast media, the NYT, the Department of Justice or the Attorney general? We have lost our voting voice and power; we are now subjects of the regimen.

If by "we lost" you mean America, you're dead on with that assessment. We now have 50+ percent of this nation's citizens who are progressive/socialists, hate America, want more and bigger government, more taxes (since most of them pay little or none), an impotent military, total acceptance of perverted chosen lifestyles, population control via infanticide, and taking the guns out of the hands of those that might defend freedom with them, an end to the Capitalist system that made this the wealthiest nation on earth, and of course continued contrition towards the fact that this nation once practiced slavery. That about sum it up? The reality is that we can no longer use the law-abiding, legal system to turn this ship around. They have effectively stacked the deck to that approach in their favor. Nothing left to do but to use their very own tactics and fight fire with fire, while we still possess the fire.
Repubs will never win when you have more than half the population (56 million) on food stamps . They voted for the freebies. They were afraid Romney would take away their free stuff. Dems love to tax & give away taxpayers $$$$. The makers lost to the takers. When is makers going to protest they are tired of paying for the ones who refuse to work. The won used taxpayers $$$$ to get the freebie votes. Also Romney should have included the tea party, he played it toooo safe.
One of the GOP leaders, (-might have been Gillespy, not sure), is toying with a bad idea for future campaigning & was on pbs this morning blaming the Romney loss on a lengthy & detailed list of his idea of GOP failures. Most of his, 'dirty laundry airing,' seemed to focus on supposed failures by the GOP to do like the dem pols by pandering, (my word for it!), to special interest groups, neatly compartmentalized, such as Latinos. He apparently thinks the GOP should be as divisive as the dems and copy their tactic of dividing Americans into special interest groups, ethnicities, genders, race, religion & etc., in order to court each one separately and apart from the rest, offering special policy favors for each in exchange for their votes. (...He didn't suggest adapting candidate's personal speech patterns to conform with each grouping like 0bama does, but that will probably come later! s/)
If political campaigning comes to THIS sort of twisted & divisive ploy by BOTH parties, the country is indeed in BIG trouble, for the authentic principles of equality & freedom, which are secured for us each in the Constitution, remain THE SAME EQUALLY for everyone. If that isn't the message of, ''America,'' what is?!! ...''E Pluribus Unim,'' Out of Many, One, lest some politicos forget!
The basic principles of freedom in the USA and EQUAL respect are the same for each human life as a valued individual American citizen. The GOP must convey Liberty's principles and Rights to each & every American citizen, ...absolutes which were secured by the Founders in the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution and which have made America the beacon of Liberty on this planet since its founding.
More than a year after the Benghazi terrorist attack that led to the murder of Ambassador Christopher Stevens, and three other Americans, there will be a public airing of the review process that was intended to quell all questions about U.S. government failings that could have led to the massacre. Instead, serious questions remain unanswered. The House Oversight and Government Affairs Committee hearing this Thursday, September 19, will feature Amb. Thomas Pickering and Adm. Thomas Mullen, who headed the Accountability Review Board (ARB), which was convened by then Secretary Hillary Clinton to determine the adequacy of security, availability of intelligence,
The Syria researcher whose Wall Street Journal op-piece was cited by Secretary of State John Kerry and Sen. John McCain during congressional hearings about the use of force has been fired from the Institute for the Study of War for lying about having a Ph.D., the group announced on Wednesday. “The Institute for the Study of War has learned and confirmed that, contrary to her representations, Ms. Elizabeth O’Bagy does not in fact have a Ph.D. degree from Georgetown University,” the institute said in a statement. “ISW has accordingly terminated Ms. O’Bagy’s employment, effective immediately." O’Bagy told POLITICO’s Kate Brannen in
The escalting war between MSNBC’s Al Sharpton and Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly took an unexpected turn last night when O’Reilly revealed that he had donated $25,000 to Sharpton’s charity to help pay for Christmas gifts and dinner for underprivileged families in Harlem. Earlier today, Sharpton offered some choice words for O’Reilly in an interview, but this afternoon on his show he really let the Fox host have it. Sharpton pointed that like O’Reilly, he never mentioned the donation until now. “Bill doesn’t realize it, but this story actually reveals what kind of person he is… Bill gave that money privately
Fox TV Studios has pulled out of talks to produce a 4-hour-long NBC miniseries about former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The two sides had previously been in contact over producing Hillary, starring Diane Lane as the eponymous politician. But Deadline reported this afternoon that “with the two sides far apart, and were never able to bridge the gap on the deal terms.” “The economics of TV movies and miniseries are challenging, which is why very few production companies take on such programs these days,” explained Deadline. “That includes NBC’s own studio, Universal TV, which would not produce NBC’s longform projects, including
It’s clear by now that if conservatives are ever going to even begin to roll back the overt, ongoing and worsening lawlessness of the Obama administration, they’re going to have to go over, through, or around the Republican party first. The GOP “leadership,” as presently constituted, is nothing more than the lesser half of the Permanent Bipartisan Fusion Government, content to munch its cud and occasionally low in the direction of constitutional propriety, and then resume its own modest but lucrative role in fertilizing the “two-party” system. As evidence, consider Bob Costa’s piece today on Senator Ted Cruz, and the
Speaking Thursday at a joint appearance with Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, Secretary of State John Kerry admitted that there were “many al Qaeda leaders now operating in Syria”—where President Barack Obama decided two months ago to provide military support to rebel forces fighting alongside al Qaeda to overthrow the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Asad. Asad is a member of the Alawite sect, which is a derivative of Shiite Islam; the Syrian rebels are predominantly Sunni, and al Qaeda is Sunni. According to the CIA, Assad’s Alawite sect represents no more than 16 percent of the Syrian population, while 74 percent
Egypt´s president on Friday suggested US President Barack Obama´s condemnation of a deadly crackdown on Islamists may "encourage violent armed groups". "The presidency fears statements not based on facts may encourage violent armed groups," it said in a statement responding to Obama´s condemnation of Wednesday´s carnage when police moved to disperse Islamist protest camps. "The presidency appreciates US concern for developments in Egypt, but it wished it could have clarified matters," said the statement published by the official MENA news agency. "Egypt is facing terrorist acts aimed at government institutions and vital installations," the statement said.
The Washington Post´s article detailing the fourth amendment abuses by the NSA got some push back from the administration who attempted to "edit" the article before publication. The internal audit referenced in the article was obtained by the WaPo from Edward Snowden. The details of the audit indicated repeated and growing privacy violations by the NSA, violations which included obtaining thousands of American citizen´s communications records and using methods of information collection that were later deemed unconstitutional by a court. The Post was able to interview John Delong, NSA director of compliance for the article and they were initially
There´s much talk about Chris Christie as the frontrunner for the Republican presidential nomination in 2016 (yes, already). Christie is certainly gearing up for a run, and has begun by attacking potential GOP rivals. But while moderate Republicans like Christie for 2016, he is their version of what Rick Perry was for conservatives in the 2012 race: a locally successful governor whose attributes will not stand up well on the national stage. Perry had much to recommend him as a national contender: staunch conservatism on most policy issues, and an economic record that even liberals would find attractive. But his Texas
Hillary Clinton has worked her way back in the news by making racially-charged remarks to the American Bar Association’s annual meeting in San Francisco. There is, she claimed, an ongoing “assault on voting rights.” But the only “assault” going on is a liberal assault on the truth about efforts to protect the integrity of our election process. Clinton’s polemic claims fit nicely within a calculated political strategy adopted late last year. At a December meeting in Washington, D.C., three dozen of the most powerful liberal advocacy groups providing money and manpower for Democratic candidates hammered out three agreed-upon objectives for

President Obama has tried to defend his health care plan lately by criticizing Republicans for trying to roll back ObamaCare without offering any alternatives -- despite the fact that Republicans have offered several. In a White House news conference a week ago, the president said: "They used to say, ´well, we´re going to replace it with something better.´ There´s not even a pretense now that they´re going to replace it with something better." Moments later, Obama elaborated, saying "they used to say they had a replacement. That never actually arrived, right? I mean, I´ve been hearing about this whole replacement thing for
Get ready for Chelsea Clinton Bump Watch 2014 — the only daughter of the former president and former secretary of State is declaring next year the “Year of the Baby.” In an interview for the November issue of Glamour magazine on her work with the Bill, Hillary & Chelsea Clinton Foundation, Clinton reveals that she and husband Marc Mezvinsky are planning for a bouncing addition to their household. According to the 33-year-old Oxford grad, the pair, who married in 2010, sat down together a year after tying the knot and made a list focused on their future, saying, “We want,
On Tuesday evening, left-wing Politico ran a headline story encapsulating the theme of the day: “Government closed, Obamacare falters.” That message marked a massive loss for the Obama administration, which has claimed that Obamacare’s implementation could not be delayed, and used that rationale as an excuse to reject the House’s proposal for a one-year delay in favor of a government shutdown. The narrative began to shift early in the morning on Tuesday, when the Drudge Report ran a lead piece on the Obamacare health exchanges coming up with error messages for users across the country. “OBAMACRASH,” Drudge headlined. He followed
DALLAS —In a shopping center parking lot 1,300 miles from Washington’s bureaucracy and bickering, teen mom Karina Luciano loaded a watermelon and baby formula into her car. Luciano didn’t realize the federal assistance program that just purchased the food items for her children, Aimee, 2, and Jaiden, 11 months, is now in jeopardy because of the government shutdown. “Oh my god, I think I’m going to cry,” Luciano said upon learning the news. “This is really bad.” Nearly 9 million low-income mothers and children receive benefits under the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children. Congress’ inability to
First lady Michelle Obama tweeted on Tuesday afternoon that her Twitter account will see fewer updates due to the government shutdown. Due to Congress’s failure to pass legislation to fund the government, updates to this account will be limited. #Shutdown 12:55 PM - 1 Oct 2013. In 2009, FactCheck.org found that the first lady had a staff of 24 people. It is unclear whether any of the first lady’s staff have been furloughed as a result of the government shutdown.
The White House and the Department of the Interior rejected a request from Rep. Steven Palazzo’s office to have World War II veterans visit the World War II memorial in Washington, the Mississippi Republican told The Daily Caller Tuesday. Palazzo helped the veterans commit an act of civil disobedience against the Park Service Tuesday, when the heroes stormed through barricades around the closed memorial. The veterans were visiting the memorial as part of Honor Flight, a non-profit that provides veterans free transport to the nation’s capital to visit the memorials to the wars they fought in. “We got the heads up
New York Magazine writer Jonathan Chait spent his government shutdown day mocking WWII veterans who were shut out by the National Park Service (NPS) when they came to visit the National WWII Memorial in Washington, D.C. On Tuesday morning, Representative Michelle Bachman (R-MN) and several Republican members of Congress helped tear down the barricades shutting the elderly veterans out of the WWII memorial. After the barricades were removed, dozens of veterans flooded in to conduct their often emotional visits. But, thinking he was being funny, Chait took to Twitter to poke fun at the veterans, joking that the NPS should
“We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America.” — Barack Obama, October 30, 2008 “We are going to have to change our conversation; we’re going to have to change our traditions, our history; we’re going to have to move into a different place as a nation.” — Michelle Obama, May 14, 2008 There certainly is no question that Barack Obama wants to change the United States. And there clearly is no doubt that such fundamental transformation is difficult, given our tripartite system of government — even though Obama entered office with large Democratic majorities in
Ronan Farrow’s ol’ blue eyes may say it all. Farrow, long described as the only biological child of actress Mia Farrow and New York filmmaker Woody Allen, may actually be the son of Frank Sinatra, his mom acknowledged in a bombshell report Wednesday. While Hollywood has whispered about the prospect for years, it was the first time that Mia publicly admitted the possibility. Asked point-blank by Vanity Fair about Sinatra’s possible parentage of Ronan, Mia coyly replied: “Possibly.” The “Rosemary’s Baby’’ actress was married to Ol’ Blue Eyes from 1966 to 1968 but continued to be his lover on and off afterward — including
Ted Cruz faced a barrage of hostile questions Wednesday from angry GOP senators, who lashed the Texas tea party freshman for helping prompt a government shutdown crisis without a strategy to end it. At a closed-door lunch meeting in the Senate’s Mansfield Room, Republican after Republican pressed Cruz to explain how he would propose to end the bitter budget impasse with Democrats, according to senators who attended the meeting. A defensive Cruz had no clear plan to force an end to the shutdown — or explain how he would defund Obamacare, as he has demanded all along, sources said. Things
President Barack Obama has called off his trip to Malaysia to tackle the US government shutdown, the office of Malaysia´s PM Najib Razak has said. Secretary of State John Kerry will represent him next week instead, the office said. The US government has partially shut down after the two houses of Congress failed to agree a new budget. More than 700,000 federal employees face unpaid leave, and national parks, museums and many buildings are closed. Mr Obama earlier vowed not to allow Republicans to undermine his signature healthcare legislation as a condition to restart the US government. "They demanded ransom," Mr Obama said.
The government shutdown will temporarily slash the staffs and operations of every “nonessential” federal program — which, as you can imagine, adds up to a whole lot of programs. There are the ones you know about, like the national parks and the panda cam. Then there’s everything else. Here’s 21 effects of the shutdown you might not have heard about. 1) No one will oversee the program that makes sure your organic food is actually organic. That’s called the National Organic Standards Program, and its entire staff was furloughed. Also on the Department of Agriculture furlough list: the people who check
If President Obama were really clever, he’d jump at the Republicans’ proposal in the continuing resolution to delay Obamacare for one year. A one-year delay is perhaps the only chance to prevent the Obamacare exchanges from becoming a disaster. Don’t take my word for it. Here’s Kevin Counihan, chief executive of Connecticut’s exchange, Access Health CT: “It is highly complex , it’s unprecedented and it’s not going to be smooth…. This is a two- to three-year implementation we’re doing in 10 months. I wish we had one more year.” The problem is that the test runs have revealed the exchange websites aren’t
