FTA- That cut alone is so deep that it required the Defense Department to rewrite our global military strategy.
Gee, ya think? We need to take a meat axe to federal spending, and that includes the DOD.
The "global" military strategy seems to require we send overstretched volunteer servicemen, and their worn out equipment to all corners of the world to meddle in affairs, both democrats and republicans seem to think we have any business in.

Since WWII, a firm policy has been to maintain the ability to fight wars on two fronts simultaneously. The Obama WH aims to destroy that policy and to use the money saved to finance such boondoggles as solar panels. One way or another, Americans will die because of this.

The Budget Control Act mandated two tiers of cuts. The first tier, which is already law, cuts $487 billion from the military over the next ten years.
Jan1 2012 is the first day of the second quarter of the fiscal. The defense dept has nine months to cut approximately 50 billion dollars from their budget in the next NINE MONTHS.
SEQUESTRATION require many billions more this fiscal year.
Being a 70 year old betting man I would bet that each service will be required to slash from 18 to 22 percent of their personnel.
all enlisted types with 15 or more years would be forced to retire at lesser pensions,or just forced out.
Officer types with 15 or more years who have been passed over for promotion will be allowed early retirement, all officers with 20 years and beyond who have been passed over for promotion once will be forced to retire.
Those officers who have promotion dates will be allowed to remain.
best guess Army 175,000+, Air Force above 100,000, Marines 40,000. Ship, aircraft fleets Fleets will be mothballed or just scrapped, weapons destroyed etc. until 487 billion reduction is met.
for those that believe I am crazy wait and watch the Obama Junta turn the finest military ever known into a coastal guard force that will only protect the states that voted for him

From up here, 240 miles above Broadway, New York City can look like a pretty nice place. No traffic. No garbage. No smells. No crime. In a swift and strange reversal, Obama administration officials Thursday rushed to play down their own recent announcements of defensive U.S. military movements in response to threats and provocations from North Korea. Remember how since-demoted House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said we´d have to pass the massive ObamaCare health law to find out what´s in it? Well, now three years later that´s happening and a lot of people are not liking what they see. Remember how ObamaCare was going to save you money? Not going to happen. Like many holidays, Easter is often associated with family memories. For me, Easter is associated with the memory of other families. It was 1975 just before Easter. The Vietnam war was ending ignominiously, with President Ford promising full American support right up through the time we left thousands of South Vietnamese sympathizers behind to confront new Communist rulers. Or risk death at sea as desperate boat people. Thanks to a tip from intelligence sources that the end of South Vietnam was near, my news employer had arranged to evacuate its two local Vietnamese interpreters and their extended families to Guam.

Now that Barack Obama has finished his last election campaign, he´s back fundraising again. Yup. And he´d like at least $5 from you right away. These electronic Obama fundraising missives are always about money, even after an historic record number of fundraisers throughout 2011 and 2012 and the incumbent´s estimated $1 billion, second winning presidential campaign, which saw him actually reap millions fewer votes than the first one. The messages are usually filled with ominous talk of fights and struggles against unnamed, but evil special interests.

RUSH: Folks, I don´t know how else to categorize this. We are living in a dying country. I don´t know how else to categorize what´s happening -- 88,000 new jobs. The unemployment rate, because of a terrible statistic, is down to 7.6%. The number of people in this country who are not working is shameful. Ninety million Americans are no longer in the workforce. Ninety million. People not in the labor force grew by 663,000, and now 90 million. That´s the labor force participation rate. This is 1979 levels.
