Like many Republicans across the country, I woke up this morning deeply depressed, my mood soon matched by the falling stock market. I’m distressed not only by the outcome of the presidential election, but also because of the way it was won. (Snip) I felt that I was watching a shrinking presidency as the campaign unfolded, with President Obama getting smaller each day. He often came across as peeved, petty and not presidential. On stage during the first debate he looked as if he wanted to be anywhere else, and his comments about his opponent were cutting
Comments: More like a campaign of envy, jealousy, victimization, and covetousness. I don't think Obama's election model is sustainable.
The constant sexual remarks and innuendos were disgusting. Our country has fallen so far. Maybe it's time to split into two countries. I'll be with the military and law enforcement and the capitalists. The movie stars and beautiful people can make their own way with the parasites.
One of the most depressing things I heard post election, was that Obama got the youth vote. the 18-25 bracket... and what we need to do to gain inroads to them. Are you serious? So now we have to have a candidate that appeals to the rappers and ditzy Hollywood crowd and can appear on as many talk shows as possible. Is this what we have come to? I seriously hope no one in control of our party will fall for this.
#8 - What can you expect when you have new generations who were schooled with anti-American textbooks and, often, teachers? I ran across a teacher training textbook for our local system which was praising the People's Republic of China, for example - and that would be just the tip of the iceberg.
As for the prez - his "cool" (as perceived by the masses of hypnotized, brainwashed voters) is hard to trump ca. 2012. But the Republicans are going to have to figure out how to do it, or be it. For one thing, we will I believe need to lean more to the libertarian side of the party in order to have any hope of winning in this environment. No offense to many of you, but the term 'Tea Party' has become a club to beat us with - as orchestrated by the media, to be sure; but I think we have a lot of soul-searching to do, and I personally am doing some of my own....
Yo can take a man out of a low class environment - Chicago-politics - But you cannot take the low class out of the man. A nwe edition of Webster/s Dictionary should show the image of Obama next to a description of the term "low class".
He should reach out to Mitt Romney, perhaps ask him to lead a special effort to focus on rebuilding jobs.
After Obama demonized Romney at every step of the way, why would Romney lower himself to work for that total fraud in the oval office? Romney would have to have an exorcist with him at all times to cast out the numerous demons in this administration, starting from the president and then on down to the lowest member of this evil cabal.
Karen suggests that the Leader reach out to Mitt Romney for assistance in job creation. The sad truth is that no one can create jobs until and unless the feds do something concrete about taxes and regulations. Something other than ''raise and implement''. The gov't can only ''create'' gov't jobs. Mother Russia found out that a fully employed bureaucracy poorly balanced by a dependent civilian population doesn't create a vibrant economy...
No it didn't. It strenghthened the presidency into a Demon-RAT Party dictatorship.
Within six months, one or more conservative justices on the Supreme Court will ''unexpectedly retire'' or have sudden ''accidents'' -- to be replaced by lie-beral activist justices.
Shortly after that, by presedential degree, and before the 2014 congressional elections, there will be millions of new citizens (who are currently illegal aliens). They will all be registered Demon-RAT voters. Overnight, there will not be a red state left on the map. This will be done by presidential decree, and immediately deemed constitutional by the lie-beral Supreme Court.
51% of the voters decided to kill the republic on 11-6-2012. There will be no ''corrections'' in 2014 or 2016. Kiss that fantasy goodbye. Don't say that we weren't warned that this is what the Demon-RATS have been working up to for decades, and have finally succeeded.
Jesus was betrayed and killed for 20 pieces of silver.
The USA was betrayed and killed for free contraception and food stamps.
Obama's campaign had absolutely nothing with moving this country forward for the better. Their philosophy appears to have been 'what do we have to do to win this thing?' So they put (contrived) fear into certain faction of the population, used bribery to get people to the polls, and maliciously denigrated the republican candidate. None of this is good for our country, but it selfishly won them the election.
Some of the earliest clues scientists had that Earth´s climate has changed over time were mismatches between the fossil record and a current ecosystem. How could this palm tree have grown in Wyoming? Why have fossils of the tropical breadfruit tree been found as far north as Greenland? These cold places must have once been warm and wet. The world is not as it has always been. And somehow, despite the tumult, species adapted, moving thousands of miles to habitats where they could survive. Won´t species today just do the same as temperatures rise in the years ahead?
Zimbabwe´s presidential election was a "huge farce", PM Morgan Tsvangirai has said, alleging vote-rigging by rival President Robert Mugabe´s camp. At a news conference, Mr Tsvangirai said that Wednesday´s poll was "null and void". The largest observer group earlier said up to a million people were prevented from voting. Mr Mugabe´s party - which is claiming a victory - denied the accusations, saying the voting went smoothly. The head of the African Union observer mission, former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo, said his initial assessment was that the vote was free and fair. Other regional observers praised
ISLAMABAD: In an exclusive interview with Geo News senior anchor, Hamid Mir, US Secretary of State John Kerry said that Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) and Al-Qaeda were violating the sovereignty of Pakistan. When asked about US drone attacks, the US Secretary of State replied that drone strikes were conducted in the defence of the United States. He also told Hamid Mir that the US was decreasing and not completely withdrawing its forces from Afghanistan. Kerry said the issue of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui was not raised by the Pakistani government. Speaking on the situation in Egypt, Kerry said
President Barack Obama told House Democrats Wednesday that his administration was looking at measures to help at-risk children, particularly minority youth — a move that comes in light of the verdict in the Trayvon Martin case earlier this month. (Snip) Obama told Cummings that it was a “good time” to examine disparities in the criminal justice system, and efforts to help black, Asian, and Hispanic men and boys. The president added that officials need to look at what can be done to aid at-risk youth in general. “We’re doing that,” Obama said, according to a source
PHILADELPHIA -- Philadelphia Eagles receiver Riley Cooper has apologized for using a racial epithet in a video that surfaced Wednesday and immediately went viral. In what looks to be a video shot with a cellphone, an agitated Cooper says, “I will jump that fence and fight every … in here,” using a slur for a black person. The video, which reportedly was shot June 9 at a Kenny Chesney concert at Lincoln Financial Field, first appeared on CrossingBroad.com. Cooper, who is a key player for a team that just lost receiver Jeremy Maclin to a season-ending knee injury

President Barack Obama promised congressional Democrats behind closed doors Wednesday that he will fight to help retake the House of Representatives in 2014 and urged them to close ranks with the White House to defend Obamacare, congressional aides said. "No one is more mindful than me for the need for Nancy Pelosi to be speaker again," a Democratic leadership aide quoted Obama as telling House Democrats during the private meeting. Obama, rallying his troops ahead of lawmakers’ five-week August recess, also vowed not to bow to Republican demands to tie government spending
WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama´s decision to delay implementation of part of his healthcare reform law will cost $12 billion and leave a million fewer Americans with employer-sponsored health insurance in 2014, congressional researchers said Tuesday. The report by the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office is the first authoritative estimate of the human and fiscal cost from the administration´s unexpected one-year delay announced July 2 of the employer mandate - a requirement for larger businesses to provide health coverage for their workers or pay a penalty. The analysts said the delay will add to the cost of "Obamacare´s" insurance-coverage
A United Airlines employee and his wife face grand theft and burglary, accused of stealing luggage of passengers whose flight was diverted away from San Francisco International Airport because of the Asiana Airlines crash, the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Fort Collins police have asked local religious organizations to keep an eye out for suspicious behavior after a self-proclaimed “Islamist jihadist” threatened Mormons and Catholics “would be destroyed” in the next two weeks, a memo sent by authorities said. (Snip) Rev. Steven Voss said the Archdiocese of Denver shared with him on Friday the Fort Collins Police Services memo and reading its words of caution made his “blood run cold.” But between Sunday Masses at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 300 W. Mountain Ave., Voss said he’s “pretty confident” he and his parishioners won’t have an interaction
Colin Powell has admitted to exchanging ´very personal´ emails with a Romanian diplomat but denies having an affair with the much younger woman after a hacker threatened to release their intimate messages. The 76-year-old retired general told the Smoking Gun that he met Corina Cretu, 45, roughly 10 years ago when she was working as an assistant to the president of Romania. She is now a member of the European Parliament. ´After I left the Department of State in January 2005 we stayed in touch via email,´ he told TSG.
CNN has uncovered exclusive new information about what is allegedly happening at the CIA, in the wake of the deadly Benghazi terror attack. Four Americans, including Ambassador Christopher Stevens, were killed in the assault by armed militants last September 11 in eastern Libya. Sources now tell CNN dozens of people working for the CIA were on the ground that night, and that the agency is going to great lengths to make sure whatever it was doing, remains a secret. CNN has learned the CIA is involved in what one source calls an unprecedented attempt to keep the spy
Serial sexter Anthony Weiner’s wife partly blamed herself last year when her horndog husband confessed to her that he was at it again. Friends and family told People magazine that Huma Abedin was kicking herself at the time for bailing out of couples counseling and focusing more on their newborn baby boy. But, thanks to a new round of joint therapy that continues even now, the couple was able to put the relapse behind them. “They really became a unit, and she feels much closer to Anthony now,” a relative told the magazine. That’s a long way from how Abedin
The United States will temporarily shut down its embassies and consulates around the world Sunday, including those in Iraq, Afghanistan and Egypt, as a precautionary measure, the State Department said Thursday. State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf did not say how long the international installations would stay closed -- only that the decision was taken “out of an abundance of caution and care for our employees and others who may be visiting.” Sunday is a normal workday in many Arab and Middle Eastern countries. Embassies in Europe and Latin America would be shuttered that day anyway.
In preparation for the release of Oscar-bait film The Butler, Forest Whitaker, Oprah Winfrey, and director Lee Daniels (Precious) sat down with Parade magazine. The film chronicles a butler (Whitaker) who works in the White House through seven administrations. Winfrey plays the butler’s wife. In the interview, Winfrey explained her sadness that so few Americans know about the history of the civil rights movement: “They don’t know diddly-squat. Diddly-squat.” She then said of the historic use of the n-word, “I always think of the millions of people who heard that as their last
American scientists claim the planet is undergoing one of the largest changes in climate in the past 65 million years. Climatologists at Stanford Woods Institute for the Environment have warned the likely rate of change over the next century will be at least 10 times quicker than any climate shift since the dinosaurs became extinct. If the trend continues at its current rapid pace, it will place significant stress on terrestrial ecosystems around the world, and many species will need to make behavioral, evolutionary or geographic adaptations to survive, they said.
[Video] Ouch. New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie turned down an offer by Sen. Rand Paul to join him for a beer and bury the hatchet in their ongoing -- and very public -- feud. "I´m running for re-election in New Jersey. I don´t really have time for that at the moment," Christie said in an interview on a local radio station. The New Jersey governor said if he finds himself in Washington, "I´ll certainly look him up." But he added: "I don´t suspect I´ll be there anytime soon. I´ve got work to do here."
Oprah Winfrey said Americans by and large know “diddly-squat” about the history of the civil rights movement. The talk show queen and media mogul made her comments during the promotion of her new film, “The Butler,” about a black man who serves in that capacity through seven administrations at the White House. “They don’t know diddly-squat,” she said in a recent interview with Parade magazine. “Diddly-squat.” Ms. Winfrey also said that when she hears the N-word, she thinks of the “millions of people who heard that as their last word as they were hanging from a tree.”
The administration has popped the bubble of hope some small business had that switching to part-time staff would let them escape the high costs of Obamacare. The Small Business Administration on Thursday created a website to explain to businesses that the government will simply tally up the number of part-time employees firms have to determine if enough hours have been worked to essentially create a "full-time equivalent." Some smaller businesses had thought that if they could get under the 50 full-time employee cap that activates Obamacare by cutting full-time workers and hiring more part-time workers they would escape
About 400 area retail and fast-food workers, together with colleagues nationally, participated in a strike Thursday to demand raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour. “If not $15, then something. I mean give us something. I work 36 hours a week and barely make enough to pay my rent, gas bill, light bill. It gets to the point where I barely have enough for lunch sometimes,” said Angel Richardson, 21, who works at McDonald’s. “I’m five months pregnant, what am I going to do in four months? I hope something changes.” The minimum wage is $7.25 nationally and $8.25
Government workers in the city of Seattle have been advised that the terms "citizen" and "brown bag" are potentially offensive and may no longer be used in official documents and discussions. KOMO-TV reports that the city´s Office of Civil Rights instructed city workers in a recent internal memo to avoid using the words because some may find them offensive. "Luckily, we´ve got options," Elliott Bronstein of the Office for Civil Rights wrote in the memo obtained by the station. "For ´citizens,´ how about ´residents?´"
Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-NY) suggested on Friday morning that the tea party movement is comprised of the same types of people who fought against the civil rights movement during the 1960s. Speaking with the Daily Beast, Rangel said of the movement: “It is the same group we faced in the South with those white crackers and the dogs and the police. They didn’t care about how they looked. He added that the tea party movement can be defeated similar to how the civil rights movement eradicated Jim Crow mentality: “It was just fierce indifference to human life that caused
